Laurel Monterello's POV

Morning came in a flash and I headed down the stairs. Tommaso's announcement was still the talk of the pack and the female wolves bantered among themselves on who would likely be his mate.

On getting to the kitchen, I froze. Female wolves clung to his side and touched his biceps, asking questions that earned laughs from him. I could feel my inside boil as he looked good, even better than he did in the cave last night while I was still suffering from the aftermath of our clash last night. I tossed and turned all night, not getting a wink of sleep. I could imagine what I looked like, a mop of hair and dried eyeliner on my cheeks.

Unknowingly, a growl left my lips and all heads turned in my direction including Tommaso. My head dropped in humiliation as he sent me a smirk which earned purring sounds from my wolf.
