Chapter 129

The Second Attack.

It was late into the night when they heard howls and hoots. Lilian was being lulled into sleep by the steady grind of the car's engine. She was seated beside Daemon while Oliver, Kelly and Dr. Taylor was seated behind.

"What's that sound?" Lilian looked around in alarm, dreading whatever it was that was coming. She knew what was coming, but she was too scared to say it.

They all knew what was coming. The first shot hit the car, and it spun around, crashing into the nearest tree in the woods. They were past the seventh pathway and almost at the eighth pathway. From where they drove, they could spot erected tents of Daemon's men that had gone up ahead of them to find the pathways.

"Another war." Kelly breathed out dreadfully from the backseat. She covered her face with her hands, and Lilian could tell she was trying hard not to cry.
