Tristan’s POV

We searched for hours.

Street after street. Corner after corner. But the trail kept twisting, fading, like a ghost that didn’t want to be caught.

At first, it was just one unfamiliar scent—sharp and foreign, clinging to the air like smoke after a fire. But the farther we tracked, the more the truth unfolded.

There wasn’t just one.

There were four.

My gut clenched the moment I realized it. Four distinct scents, all mingling together, scattered like shadows through the narrow paths and alleyways—until, finally, they vanished altogether… right at the edge of Moonlit Shadow territory.

A dead end.

Literally and figuratively.

I stood there for a long moment, staring out into the darkness beyond the boundary line, fists clenched at my sides.

Rose.

She barely left her home, let alone her pack. There was no logical reason for strangers—no, spies—to be lurking around her. Unless… she was the target. Unless someone had been following her. Watching her. Hunting her.

My chest tighten

  • Mated To The Quadruplets Lycan Alphas    Chapter 72

Rose's POVYesterday, when I told Tristan about Kavian, his reaction cut deeper than I expected. He freaked out—his voice sharp, his eyes wide with betrayal. But what wounded me most wasn’t his anger, it was the disappointment in his face. The kind of look that makes your chest ache because you know you’ve let someone down without meaning to. We’re best friends—always have been—so of course he’d feel hurt that I kept something from him. Still, I can’t help but wonder… what if I had gone further? What if I had told him the truth that even I can hardly admit to myself—that I am in love with Kavian? He’d probably think I’d lost my mind. Maybe I have. Because honestly, nothing in my world makes sense anymore without him. Somehow, in such a short time, Kavian has stolen everything from me—my heart, my thoughts, even the quiet in my soul. He is still a mystery, a storm I cannot fully understand, and yet my life feels incomplete when he is not near. How does that even happen? How does someon

Author's POV The heavy silence in the tent broke as Alpha King Armon finally entered, his presence commanding every gaze. His steps were steady, deliberate, and the weight of his authority seemed to ripple through the air. The brothers straightened immediately, along with the gathered betas, warriors, and advisors, each bowing their heads in respect before resuming their seats around the great oak table.Spread across the table was a vast map, its surface scarred from years of use, inked with markings of borders, rivers, and battle lines. The flickering lanterns hanging from the tent poles cast uneven light across it, shadows dancing like restless spirits.Armon’s voice, deep and resonant, filled the space. “I know you all must be wondering why I called this meeting so suddenly.”A ripple of agreement passed through the men, a chorus of murmurs and nods. The Alpha King’s expression hardened, his jaw tightening as his eyes swept across them. “A message has come to me from across the s

Rose's POV“A… friend?” His voice stumbled over the word, like he couldn’t bring himself to believe it. His face had gone stiff, disappointment and something darker pooling in his eyes. “And when exactly were you planning to tell me about this?”“I’m sorry,” I whispered, guilt rushing in like a tide I couldn’t hold back. “I was just… waiting for the right time.” But even as I said it, the excuse felt thin.Tristan shook his head slowly, confusion painted across his features. “How did you even meet him? Because I don’t understand, Rose.”I drew in a sharp breath, my throat tightening, and forced myself to speak. “At the Moon Festival.” My voice softened as the memory resurfaced, sharp and bright. “I snuck out of the house that night… and that’s when it happened. Six men from the Nightshade Wolves cornered me.” The words left my lips heavier than I expected, carrying the fear I had buried for weeks. “They tried to take advantage of me, Tristan. And if Kavian hadn’t been there…” My voice

Rose's POVBy the time the sky began to dim, evening settling like a heavy blanket over the pack house, I found myself thinking this might have been the most painfully dull day I’d ever lived through. The hours had dragged mercilessly, each one slower than the last, and no matter what I did to fill the time, it never seemed enough. I didn’t have many friends to distract me—truthfully, I hardly had any. And Laura, the one person I could once call my best friend, now seemed to hate me with a venom I didn’t understand. Every time I thought about her cold eyes and sharper words, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. And then there was Tristan. My other best friend. Unlike him, he hadn’t visited all day. Since morning, I’d been waiting, expecting him to appear as he always did, with that easy grin and his careless laughter, but the hours kept passing and he never showed. I told myself something important must have happened in Moonlit Shadow’s pack, something that required his attention as th

Rose's POV I turned slowly, schooling my features into a practiced smile, the kind that didn’t quite touch my eyes. “Elder Freya,” I said, as though I had only just noticed her arrival, as though her presence hadn’t already set my pulse into a frantic rhythm. She closed the distance between us with the steady authority of someone who had no need to rush, her steps measured, her gaze sharp enough to strip me bare. She returned my greeting with the faintest nod, then repeated with firm finality, “We need to talk.”Going somewhere private my smile faltered, the mask slipping a little. I exhaled, trying for nonchalance, though my throat was tight. “I know. This is about the suitor thing again, isn’t it? Elder, I’m really not in the mood—”“Not this time,” she interrupted smoothly. Her tone carried a weight that made my stomach twist. “Although,” she added, with that familiar steel, “we will discuss that matter soon enough.”That startled me. My brows knit together, wariness rising. “Then

Rose's POVI woke up the next morning with a headache so sharp it felt like a hammer was pounding behind my eyes. My skull throbbed with each heartbeat, and for a moment I thought I was still dreaming, trapped in some nightmare that refused to let go. But no—the dull ache in my temples was real. Very real. What the fuck?I sat up slowly, clutching my head, trying to piece together why it hurt this badly. I had never felt anything like this before. My body ached as though I’d been dragged through the night, and when I exhaled, a strange bitter tang clung to the back of my throat. My breath smelled… sour, heavy. Almost like alcohol.Which made no sense.I wasn’t the drinking type. I never was. Yet the taste in my mouth was undeniable, as if I had drained an entire cup of something strong and burning. My stomach twisted uneasily, threatening to roll.I dragged myself out of bed and staggered toward the bathroom, every step rattling through my aching skull. The cold stone floor bit agains
