I had been absent from the pack for two days now, but my beta, Chris, had always known where I was at. "Xander, why are you here? I thought you'd been with your mate ever since you took her to our pack?" I took my gaze up at Chris, but didn't say a word to him. I rather sipped my wine and stared into empty space. "Xander, I don't know what you have in mind, but do you know Luna almost died last night?" I froze but didn't show it. I slowly put down the glass of wine I was drinking and took my gaze back to Chris. "What do you mean?""I don't know what happened. She didn't come down for breakfast-""That is because I asked Lucy to let her have some rest," I interrupted. "Oh, some rest. Okay, I understand that, but she didn't come for lunch or dinner either. Since no one bothered to see what she was up to, I decided to go visit her-""Why would you visit my mate!" I interrupted again and this time, I could hardly hold back my anger. "Woah! Best it down Xander! You were not around an
Just when I thought I would be able to tell him all what I felt, I rather ended up holding myself back because I knew what that meant. Another Punishment. I haven't recovered from the one I went through lady night, so it would be foolish of me to provoke him again. Who knows, maybe I will die this time, since I didn't succeed in dying the first time. I wanted to ask the healer who actually saved me, but I was scared to go too deep with my questions. I don't want any trouble. Though he was being nice to me, that didn't stop me from being scared. They were all lycans and I suppose they think alike. Maybe it was better to forget whoever it was that saved me. That way I would have a peaceful life. If there was anything I learned while living under the roof of my stepfather, it was to mind my business. That was the only way I stayed out of trouble. ********Ever since I was admitted to the infirmary, the only person who has visited me was the pack's beta named Chris and, of course, the
When night came, I could hardly sleep, what I saw and heard earlier in the day kept replaying in my head like a movie. I also remember laughing at him for the way he behaved. I thought no woman would want to be with a man like Xander, but from the look of things, it was the reverse. No man would want to be with an ugly duckling like me. No wonder my ex-boyfriend chose my sister over me. What was I ever thinking, saying that to Alpha Xander? Good thing I didn't complete my sentence for fear of being punished. Still, that doesn't change the fact that I laughed at him, what a fool I've made of myself. I face palmed myself feeling terrible about my actions. But now that the future Luna is here, what will be my fate? It was already troublesome with Xander around. What will happen to me, now that Ciara is here? I took a glance outside and stared at the moon, which shone brightly. What has the moon goddess in store for me? Does she hate me this much? Could I have committed a grave sin i
What was that? Everyone wants a piece of Xander. I began to wonder if it was the Xander I actually know or if it was someone else. The Xander I know isn't someone nice to women. What was I saying? He wasn't nice to me in particular. I'm not sure he does the same thing he did to me, to the others. When I saw him yesterday with Ciara, I could see just how happy he was. Of course, he was nice to her, so I'm guessing he was nice to every other female except me. That must be it. My poor life. I wonder what I ever did to deserve such treatment. "Uhm, Luna? I'm not saying this to make you feel bad, because no matter what happens, you remain the Luna to Alpha Xander and there's nothing no one can do about it. Not even Ciara," Chris whispered the last part, which made me turn my gaze towards him in surprise. Chris took me to the pack's training court, and for the first time, I was happy I had to leave my room. I saw the pack soldiers all looking like giants with strong body build. If not fo
**********I hummed a song as I prepared for my training which was to start later in the evening. I smiled at myself when I realized that my time of being idle would soon be over. Just when I thought I wouldn't be able to survive in the Knighters pack, the moon goddess had paved a way for me through Chris. I just cannot be trained as a soldier. For now, Chris told me not to let anyone know about my training. I don't have any friends to begin with, so that doesn't count. I won't let anyone in on what I'm trying to do. Xander will be the last to ever find out. I know for a fact that he won't let me do what I please. In fact, height decides to punish me again if he ever finds out about what I'm trying to do. After preparing my training outfit, I neatly hid it at the back of the closet. Not that anyone will ever find out anyway, but it's better than being sorry. This was important to me, and I cannot let anyone find out about what I'm up to. Just then, I heard a soft knock on my door.
Just like the twinkle of an eye, I became not only a friend to Chris but to Ciara as well. Though, as for the case of Ciara, I don't get too close when she's with the pack members, but when she's alone and notices there's no one around her, I go to her. Also, I was secretly trained her by beta Chris. Having those two by my side seemed like I had it all and I didn't have to worry about a thing, most especially since I hadn't had an encounter with Alpha Xander for a while now. I just wished things were that way and I wouldn't have to see him. Whenever he is around, I try to stay away from his space as best as I can, so he doesn't see me and come for me. "Uhm, Laura, I would like to take you somewhere. Would you like to come with me?""Huh? Where could that be?" "I want to take you shopping. Aren't you tired of being in the pack alone? Whether you like it or not, you are the Luna of the pack, and as such you need to look stunning at all times, don't you agree?""Well, I don't know ab
I stood in front of the mirror with a fast heartbeat. There was something about the red dress I was putting on and my hair that made me feel like I was a replica of the moon goddess even though I hadn't seen her before."Oh my, you look so beautiful!"Ciara exclaimed as she walked around me, observing and admiring the dress. I was so nervous that I couldn't even say a word. I just stared at myself in the mirror and blushed. The dress doesn't only look good on me, but it brought out some curves I never knew I had. I thought I was straight without any good curves, but seeing how the red dress looked on me made me change my mind about my looks ."Do you see how beautiful you look at all, Laura?" Ciara asked, still admiring the dress. I nodded my answer with my hand covering my mouth. I never expected that I would look so pretty. "We are taking this dress and all the ones I picked, do you understand?" Ciara asked the sales lady. "Yes, ma'am Ciara," the sales lady answered and quickly
I was on the training fields with my beta and my pack soldiers when I suddenly heard murmuring from the pack house. At first, everyone thought the enemies had somehow found their way into the pack. Just then, I perceived this scent I perceived whenever she's around. I created my brow ok a frown. This isn't about an enemy, and if I was right about the scent I had perceived, then something was happening which I really needed to see as soon as possible. "Alpha, Xander, what do you think is going on?" Chris asked, probably not sure about what to think of the situation. "I don't know, I guess we will have to find out ourselves."Just as I was about to head to the pack house to see what was actually going on,I saw Ciara walking over to the training field, all dressed up with a smile on her face. Goodness! She's beautiful, but she knows for a fact that I don't fret over such fancy things. I was about to turn my gaze away when I noticed someone behind her. I didn't have to rack my brain
