Colorful leaves floated down around me as I walked through the woods. I figured with the pack now knowing that I’m Xavier’s mate, I could walk around more freely without thinking someone might kill me.

I was sure the moment I ran into any wolves I’d still get cold stares, but honestly I wasn’t so bothered anymore. I had more important things to think about, like Axel jumping out from behind a tree to reject me.

I needed fresh air. I couldn't handle being trapped in the house another second with my chaotic thoughts, not after what had happened yesterday.
