LEAH

The sun is barely up when we reach Bloodmoon territory. The smell hits first, burnt wood, iron, and blood. The fae convoy slows down as the first ruined houses come into view. Roofs are caved in, walls clawed apart, the ground scorched black in patches. My chest tightens, this isn’t the home we left.

Lucian doesn’t say a word. His jaw is locked, eyes straight ahead, fists clenched on his knees. When we stop, the fae captain steps forward, his face grim. “This is where we leave you, Alpha,” he says. “We’ll return to the fae lands and report to King Caelum. May your pack heal fast.”

Lucian nods stiffly, shaking the man’s hand. “Thank you. Tell Caelum I owe him one.”

The fae bow slightly, then turn back. Their carriages vanish down the forest path until only silence remains.

Lucian finally steps forward, and I follow him. The pack grounds are quiet except for the sound of crackling fire and distant voices. Warriors move around carrying the wounded, others repairing walls. Everyone s

LUCIANThe journey back to the pack feels endless. The air is thick with loss and grief. When we finally get there, silence greets us instead of the usual howls or chatter. The half-burnt houses are still a sight for sore eyes. Charred wood and broken glass crunch under my boots as I walk through what used to be a haven. Every few steps, there’s a body. Pack warriors, even elders who should’ve been far away from the frontlines, all dead.Theron walks a few steps behind me, saying nothing. No one dares speak. The few survivors that remain bow their heads, out of heartbreak. I stop near what used to be the schoolhouse. The walls are blackened, and the roof’s half gone. The vague scent of blood and ash makes my throat tighten. “How many?” I ask quietly. One of the scouts answers. “We’re still counting, Alpha. Dozens, maybe more. The safe site was hit first.”My jaw tightens. “The safe site?”The scout nods, his eyes full of guilt. “They came through the forest. We thought the barriers w

LUCIANI feel something’s wrong the moment the mate bond between Leah and I suddenly goes quiet. It’s like someone ripped the air out of my lungs. One second, I can feel her presence right in the back of my mind, and the next, it’s gone.“Leah,” I yell through the link again, trying to push energy into it. Still, nothing. My chest tightens. I try again. Leah, answer me. Please.Still nothing.I don’t even realize I’m moving until I’m sprinting through the wreckage of the battlefield. The smell of blood and smoke burning my throat, but I don’t care. I follow even the faintest trace of her scent, cutting through the chaos like a ghost.“Alpha!” one of the warriors calls. “The eastern flank is falling…”“Hold it!” I snap without slowing. “Find the Luna. Spread out, search every inch of this field!”They hesitate for a second, then scatter at my command. My heartbeat drowns out everything, the shouts, the clash of steel, even the dying growls in the distance. All I can think about is that

  • Mated To The Scarred Alpha   Chapter 139

LEAHThe world explodes into chaos. The first line of the black-eyed wolves slams into the allied front, and the sound that follows is nothing but growls, and screams. Arrows whistle past, spells burst like fireworks, and the ground shakes under the trolls’ heavy steps. The fog makes everything worse, enemies just appear from nowhere.Lucian’s at the rear, barking orders, cutting down everything that comes near. “Hold formation! Watch the cliffs!” He orders through the mindlink to all wolf warriors.I’m right in the middle of the chaos, throwing fire and air and earth together just to keep our front from breaking. Every time I take one down, two more replace it.A troll swings its massive club at a group of elves to my left and I dash forward, catching its arm in a swirl of wind before shoving it back with a wall. The blow knocks it off its feet, and the elves shoot their arrows straight into its chest.I don’t even have time to breathe before the next wave hits.“Leah!” Lucian’s voic

LEAHThe morning the march begins, the entire Bloodmoon courtyard feels alive. Pack warriors line up by formation, the clang of weapons echoing. Elven archers from Radnor’s forces move with sharp precision, their silver arrows gleaming. Sirens hum low battle chants as they ready their watercrafts at the nearby river crossing. Above it all, fae riders shimmer faintly in the air, their wings catching streaks of light as they hover, waiting for Caelum’s signal. It’s strange, seeing all these different races that once could barely stand each other, now standing shoulder-to-shoulder. For the first time, it doesn’t feel like we’re just defending Bloodmoon anymore. It feels like we’re defending the entire realm.Lucian stands a few feet away, talking to the generals. He’s better now, stronger, but I know he’s still recovering.“You ready?” he asks as he walks towards me, his voice low and calm.I smile softly. “You’re asking the wrong person. You’re the one who just got back from almost dyin

LUCIANThe next morning, Bloodmoon feels alive again, louder, busier, hungrier for action. The air is filled with smells of training dust and rain-soaked earth. Pack warriors move across the field, their shouts echoing through the courtyard. After everything that happened, it finally feels like momentum.Leah’s out in the open yard, practicing her elemental control with the fae instructors Caelum sent to guide her. From where I stand on the balcony, I can see her lift her hands, eyes focused. The air stirs, a ripple of energy circles her. A burst of wind follows, spinning the practice dummies off balance. The fae watching her exchange looks that say she’s getting stronger.I should be surprised, but I’m not. I’ve seen her grow every single day, more confident, more sure of what she can do. And every time I watch her, it reminds me why I’ll burn the world before I let anyone touch her again.I take a breath and turn back to my desk, covered in maps and sealed letters. My hand still ach

  • Mated To The Scarred Alpha   Chapter 136

LEAHIt’s been a few days since everything happened, and Lucian’s already back on his feet… well, sort of. He’s still a bit pale, but the spark in his eyes is back.Right now, he’s sitting on the bed while Myra and two other healers finish checking his vitals. I’m sitting close by, pretending to be calm even though I’m secretly watching every tiny move they make.Myra straightens up, her wrinkled face breaking into a small smile. “Honestly, Alpha, I’ve never seen anything like this before,” she says, shaking her head. “Your body’s healing faster than anything we’ve documented. It’s like your cells are… regenerating on their own.”Lucian lifts an eyebrow. “So what are you saying? I’m some sort of medical miracle now?”Myra chuckles softly. “Something like that. The last traces of the Corvus venom are disappearing, and your strength has returned to almost full capacity. I’d say give it a few days, and you should be able to shift again.”I gasp quietly. “Really?”She nods, looking at me.
