ASTRID
“I told you not to take a look at your face. Now your handsome face is ruined,” I complained as I applied some ointment to Noah’s lips. “Did you just call me handsome?” He asked, a smile tugging on his lips. I scoffed. “Is it the time for jokes now? I couldn’t hear your voice when Damien was beating you up,” I reminded him and he chuckled. “You know for someone who just got beaten, you don’t seem to care.” “Beaten? If you think so,” he replied. “You don’t seem to care that you got beaten. I thought you said you had a plan?” I asked before using the bone scarring aid to cover the bruise on the side of his lips. “Ouch,” he uttered and I quickly apologized. “You did that intentionally didn’t you?” “No, I didn’t, I mean it.” “It’s all right, I believe you,” he replied. I locked eyes with him for some seconds and it felt like I was hypnotized for some seconds as I couldn’t look away. Noah was so close to me, while he sat on the bench that was on the rooftop, I stood between his legs taking care of his face. “Do you know that you’ve made the situation worse?” I looked away from him. “Worse? In what sense?” He asked and I shook my head in disbelief. “I made it clear to you what it was that you were stepping into and you allowed yourself to get involved in it and now you have no idea?” “Why don’t you explain to me since you are the expert,” he replied and honestly it was the second time I’m seeing him this carefree while speaking. The first was when we went out to the city to eat and now. ”The only season he chose to let you go is because he’d keep coming for you now. Since he won you today, he’s going to make you his next victim and he will bully you until you run away. You could have still had the upper hand as before if you chose to stay away,” I explained to him. He didn’t look phased. Instead, he smiled. “Oh really? Do you think so? You don’t have to worry. Just let me handle it,” he replied. “I thought he was going to kill you though," I said truthfully seeing how he was beating him up and nobody seemed to care and that was expected. It has always been like this. Everyone is too scared to go against Damien or stand up against him. They’d rather lick his feet for Favour’s and not be the next victim. Noah stood up on his feet. “I am fine. He can’t do anything. I said to trust me didn’t I?” “I….” “Shhh. Come on, let’s leave this place. I have a place to go to,” he informed me. “Where are you going?” I asked inquisitively. “That’s none of your business. Just go to your room and try to sleep okay,” he replied. I followed behind him as we left the rooftop. On our way to our dormitory, we came across Damien again and upon seeing him and his friends, I already knew that there was going to be a problem. Henceforth he’d go around looking for Noah to bully him. “New boy? Come over here,” Damien said to Noah. Noah pulled me closer to him, intertwining our fingers together. “Come on babe…” I felt a jolt of electricity run down my spine when he called me babe. “Let’s go.” “Babe? Have you forgotten the deal? She’s mine,” Damien said, now standing in front of us since Noah wouldn’t go over to him. I just wish Noah would make it easy for himself because Damien had beaten him not too long ago and he would beat him again. “Deal? Why would I make a deal to give you what’s mine?” Noah replied. For someone who was beaten earlier, he doesn’t seem intimidated at all. “I see you have plasters all over your face. Do you want more plasters or are you going to be a good boy and avoid getting beaten?” Damien asked. “You sound so cocky don’t you think? How about you just let me go while I’m being nice or I won’t guarantee the outcome, pretty boy,” Noah replied. How could someone be so confident speaking to someone who had beaten them earlier? Was it a natural gift of his or was he pretending not to be scared so that Damien would let him go? He didn't let go of my hand and I didn’t feel him clenching his fingers with mine either. He was relaxed, unfazed, and happy. Damien pushed Noah’s forehead with his index and middle fingers. “You haven’t learnt, have you?” “I dare you to push me one more time and I’d make sure that you regret it.” Gone was the joke in his tone. Noah was dead serious and I wasn’t certain if I should trust him again because the last time he asked me to trust him, he ended up getting beaten by Damien. “How dare you,” Damien attempted to hit him again but Noah caught his fingers and the next thing I heard was Damien scream after a creaking sound. Noah let go of my hand as Damien’s friends came to Damien for support. “Take one more step and I promise to send him to the hospital,” Noah said to Damien’s friends. He was still holding Damien's fingers and no matter how hard Damien tried to pull back, Noah didn’t let go. “I was being nice to you earlier when I allowed you to hit me and you think I’d let you keep doing that?” Noah clicked his tongue and it was surprising to me how strong he was. He finally let go of Damien’s fingers. Damien groaned in pain, attending to his fingers. Seconds later, he stood back on his feet and attempted to hit Noah. Noah easily dodged his punch. Every time he tried to, Noah effortlessly dodged them. Did he let Damien beat him earlier? But why? He could have avoided Damien coming to fight him again so why did he do that? I couldn’t help but wonder. Soon Damien's friends got involved in the fight and I watched as Noah fought all three of them without touching them. All he did was dodge and hit their legs so that they would fall to the ground. He seems to be enjoying it as he was toying with them. Just who was he and where is he from? Then I heard footsteps behind me and shortly after, I heard a voice from behind me. “Noah over here!” It was the voice of Damien’s friend and he was holding a knife close to my neck. I began to shake from fear. Noah looked at my direction and the smile on his face he had while fighting Damien and his friends were gone, now replaced with a frown. “One more move from you and I will stab her with this knife,” the boy said to Damien and I couldn’t breathe. The fear of getting stabbed by a knife made it hard for me. “I dare you to and I promise you that my face will be the last you see in this life before you go join your ancestors.” Noah snarled through his teeth.NOAH“So this was the plan you said you had in mind when you asked me to let you handle it?” Tyler asked.“He beat you so hard. Why did you let him beat you? I thought you were found to beat him up and you recorded this? For what to be precise?”“For future purposes. The school had to shut down even after I discovered the truth behind the mutant. He’s a bully and the school isn’t what it’s supposed to be like. There are a lot of bullies and the weak cannot survive in there and that’s why it’s crazy,” I explained.“So you let him beat you and did nothing?” Tyler asked because he knew that it was unlike me to let anyone touch me.I’ve always been tough from a young age. I started training at the age of seven and I was already stronger than boys my age at the age of eight. He knew that I wouldn’t let Damien beat me up without a reason and I did have one. “I beat him up later with his friends,” he informed him.“Wow. And you didn’t record it? Then you didn’t beat them up. No video, I’m
ASTRID“You are not in charge here anymore and I will do whatever I want with her,” the boy replied to Noah.“First, by telling me what your name is. What is your name?” Noah asked.“The fuck do you want to know that for?” He replied.“I love to know the names of those I am about to kill and you will be my next victim,” he answered and I couldn’t tell if he was joking or if he meant what he said.“Bold of you to think that you can kill me,” he sounded confident as he replied to Noah.“What’s your name? My name is Noah,” Noah introduced himself. “It’s Ethan,” he replied.“It’s nice to meet you, Ethan. Go on. Stab her. What are you waiting for?” Noah replied daringly and that didn’t sit well with me.Did he have an idea that he was provoking the boy and he might eventually do it?“You don’t have the guts now do you?” Noah began to walk closer to us. Ethan placed the knife even closer to my neck to the point I began to shake and cry.“She’s crying already. Aren’t you concerned about her

NOAH“You don’t get it do you?” “Enough talking Astrid. I already made up my mind so no matter what you say, I won’t change my mind. So trust me.”She said nothing in return and I didn't put her down on her feet until we arrived at the field. “Let me handle it okay?” I put her down on her field. She nodded her head.We waited for some more minutes before Damien arrived. He didn’t come alone as I expected. He came with three other boys with whom I always saw him hang out.He was walking straight into my trap and that’s exactly what I wanted. “I see you came early. Must be so eager to get your ass whipped, isn’t that it?” He remarked and I scoffed.“And I see you brought her here with you. Are you certain you want to get her involved?”“You already involved her seeing how you want my girl all of a sudden and that’s the more reason I have to put you in your place, to remind you who she is and who she belongs to,” I replied.“I don’t care. I am Damien Randolph and I always get what I
NOAH“Why don’t you avoid him instead? Have you forgotten why you are there? It won’t hurt for you to drop your pride and besides he’s a teenager,” my best friend Tyler reminded me. “You don’t have to worry about me. I have everything handled. And I know kids like him. He’s eighteen. I’m twenty-one. Just three years difference and he’s old enough to take on a big task. I was his age when I started shouldering responsibilities,” I reminded him.“It’s still too risky for you to partake in such a thing just because you want to make him humble. You are yet to do what made you go to that school. Your father is already asking for reports and you know I’m going to be the one in trouble if you don’t give him reports soon so please don’t create any drama and focus on your priorities,” Tyler replied. But the issue was far from that. I knew Damien well enough to know that he wasn’t going to have me kicked out because I whopped his ass. He has too much pride and he’s going to still have me aroun
ASTRID“You don’t have to fight him for me. You don’t have to go meet him. Trust me, that’s him luring you to his trap,” I said to Noah.We were on the school rooftop. It was where he brought me to after we left the lab.“You don’t have to worry about that. I will have it handled,” he replied to me, not sounding bothered at all.“Do you know who Damien is? His father is one of the biggest sponsors in this school. The head mistress will do nothing to him and just like the other victims, you are going to be kicked out,” I tried explaining to him what was at stake.“That’s because they never put him properly in his place. I’m not scared of brats like him. I don’t care if his father is the supreme ruler of werewolves, I will deal with him and I will meet him and his friends at the field,” he replied.“I don’t think that you are getting it…”He cuts me off. “It’s fine, okay. You don’t have to worry. I will handle it.”“What about you? I don’t want you having to leave the school for my sake
