Chapter 15

Rylee's POV.

The atmosphere in Beta Fabian's car was chilling as he drove his sleek black car out of the pack's house, heading towards the peaceful estate where Elizabeth and I lived.

As I peeked out of the car window, I saw some pack members looking at Beta Fabian's car in shock, as they weren't expecting to see two omegas with him.

Beta Fabian spared no passerby a glance as he drove coolly.

I thought about the mating mark on the right side of my neck. If Beta Fabian claimed that he was not the man who had marked me, then who did?

Racking my brains for answers was futile.

I watched as Beta Fabian's car drove with a speed that sent Elizabeth and me reclining in the backseat, as he seemed annoyed to be taking us.

So why was he doing this?

As Beta Fabian's car arrived at the peaceful estate gate where the lower-class families like Elizabeth and I lived, his car slowed down as he waited for the security men at the gate to pull the huge black gate open.

But unlike the pack house, this peaceful estate didn't have a mighty black wolf head at the top of the welcome inscription.

Beta Fabian drove into the estate road, not asking for my particular house address. There were many houses with the same building and shape in this peaceful estate.

As Beta Fabian arrived at the gate of the particular house that Elizabeth and I resided in, he slowed down his car and hit the brakes, as the tires screeched to a halt.

"Get out of my car," Beta Fabian barked, making me grit my teeth.

I hastily unlocked his car and got out, clutching my black polythene bag which contained my new clothes and purse.

Elizabeth got out of the car, using the same door as me, and she muttered to him, "Thank you, Beta."

However, I glanced away, as I wasn't ready to say thank you to Beta Fabian.

Beta Fabian reversed his car, roaring it to life as he sped off, not bothering to look at us.

"Rylee, are you okay?" Elizabeth asked me, as I stood in front of the black gate, watching Beta Fabian's car speed off.

"I am fine," I muttered, looking back at Elizabeth.

"Let's go in," I told her, and she nodded with understanding.

Just as Elizabeth and I entered the compound of the one-story house where we live, as most of the houses were built in the same style.

Elizabeth's younger sister, Akira, rushed into the gate to hug her.

"Big sister! Welcome home? Was that Beta Fabian's car?" Akira asked, as she was a 12-year-old girl.

"Yes. He is the one. He brought us home as we went to the pack house," Elizabeth replied, while her younger sister giggled.

"Really? What is the pack house like? What did you go there to do? Why didn't you take me along with you?"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes and glanced at me.

"Rylee was arrested and kidnapped by a man who took us to Ex-Beta James's house. Don't worry. I will tell you about this later. Go and play," Elizabeth dismissed her sister, who looked at us with shock after hearing that we were arrested.

"Alright," Akira went to play, as her family lived on the second floor, while My brother and I stayed on the ground floor.

Though it was a rented apartment, my brother and I owned a two-bedroom apartment on the ground floor, while Elizabeth and her parents lived on the top floor.

"I will be back, Rylee. Let me go and get the pill for you," Elizabeth said, as she followed her sister and went away, while I made my way to my apartment door.

We were four tenants living in this building, but I wasn't close to the other two, just Elizabeth and her family.

Elizabeth was a nursing student at the pack's university. Though her parents weren't rich, they supported her education, while I had to work to support my brother.

As I got to my apartment door, I fished out my key from my bag to unlock the door and go into the apartment.

I didn't have much of a home property, as I managed to get a set of four black couches in the living room, while I had a bedroom and my brother had one. But he is not at home and had gone to college.

He would be graduating this year, and I had to save up to support his dreams of furthering his education.

Though Levi and I had an uncle who survived, his wife and my mother were not close. So he doesn't help us much.

I didn't want to bother him either, as I didn't want to be close with his children.

I take pride in doing my things my own way and not allowing my mother's family or my father's relative to control my life.

I was lucky to get a job in our pack's hotel, so that was enough to sustain my brother and me, even though I wasn't a graduate of a well-renowned university. I could still afford a good standard of living.

As I entered my living room, knowing that Elizabeth had gone to the top floor to get the morning-after pills for me, I went to my room and stopped in front of my mirror as I took in my appearance.

"What?!" I looked a mess. Hickeys were plastered over my neck.

Finger marks were so visible around my neck, and I recalled how Mr. Nathan had clutched my neck this morning for disrespecting him.

"No, I cannot date him for the video. I cannot," I shook my head, not wanting to think of Mr. Nathan at the moment.

My head aches whenever I try to think of the man who mated with me. So I went to the bathroom to wash my face and change out of the red dress that hugged my figure.

This red dress was so beautiful, and it made me look like a princess.

"If Beta Fabian wasn't the man who mated with me, then why is he showing care about me?"

"Was it Alpha Malakai?" Alpha Malakai's face flashed in my mind, but as soon as the thought came to me, I shook my head.

It was a taboo for an alpha to mate with a weak link.

Sighing, I undressed in my bathroom and had a quick bath.

Once I got out, I heard the doorbell ring, and I went to pull it open. As I see that Elizabeth had arrived.

"Here are the pills, Rylee. It's almost afternoon, but the pills are not expired yet, so they will work," Elizabeth said, as she uncapped the bottle and brought out four pills for me to take.

"Isn't this too much?" I asked her, as she went to help me get a bottle of water from my small fridge.

"No, Rylee. Except you want to take the chance and have a bastard child," Elizabeth said, and the thought of me having a child at this age without a mate or a husband sent shivers down my spine.

"No, I do not want to have a bastard," I said and drank the pills fast with the cool water.

I sighed and thanked Elizabeth, "Thank you, Eli."

"You're welcome, Rylee. You should have something to eat. Do you have food in your kitchen, or should I get you something to eat?" Elizabeth asked, and I went to the room to take out the dress that I want to wear.

I selected a white dress and put it on. The dress has a silk material.

"I have some food in the kitchen," I tell Elizabeth, and she said, "I will help you to get it ready."

"Thank you," I said, as I was still feeling sour from the aftermath of mating with an unknown man.

I hoped the pills work, because abortion is a punishable offense in the Dark Shadow Pack.
