A daisy, a solitary speck of white and yellow, bloomed prematurely amid the pristine green of Vesna's freshly mowed lawn at home. She shined brightly in the May sun, her golden centre a perfect reflection of the sun above. This trailblazing flower will not last long or even have a brief yet gorgeous life in a daisy chain. If she had bloomed in any other place, she would have been taken out, roots and all, and composted by the end of the day.“Here you go, dear.” Vesna walked over and softly offered me a cup of freshly poured black coffee, which pulled me out of my reverie."Hvala vam," I thanked, gladly accepting the cup. The next day flew by as I and Vesna searched around the pack searching for wildflowers. I had no idea how huge this pack was! And how many wildflower beds scattered around the territory. After locating the flowerbeds, it was time to harvest the flowers we needed. On the day before the festival, I and Vesna started collecting the flowers we needed early in the morning. And by the time the sun started to come up, we had finished collecting all the flowers we needed. As soon as we reached the makeshift boutique, we sprayed down the flowers and placed them on the water mixture Vesna had made. Flowers will stay fresh for longer this way. And most of the flowers we collected were only starting to bloom. So, by the time everyone will sit down for dinner tomorrow, the flowers will be completely bloomed. There was something there that wasn’t there before. I suddenly wasn’t scared, anxious of the untold future. I felt warm, protected, and cared for just in his presence. None of the things that were keeping me awake at nights were crossing my mind. I was just savoring the moment, the close proximity of him. He wasn’t physically closer to me but perhaps spiritually? He stood at a distance caressing a white horse. There were a few more behind it minding their own business but this one looked content with the attention Erdem was showering it with. It was also the very first time I witnessed a horse getting that close to a werewolf. There was just something there, I couldn’t wrap my head around. But I know I will be cherishing this moment till I take my last breath. I return my attention to the White Crape Myrtle tree in front of me. I carefully picked all the flowers in my reach but those were not close to being enough. I looked up at the flowers just barely out of my reach. Argh!This are
