CHLOE’S POV

“Close your mouth,” Kristal said, laughing. “You’re going to catch flies.”

I was still standing frozen just inside the store. The air smelled sweet, like vanilla and warm sugar, and somewhere above us, a slow, throbbing song played at a low volume.

Everywhere I looked, there was something outrageous on display, and I had absolutely no idea where to rest my eyes.

“Why are we here?” I whispered.

“It’s part of our freshers’ party preparation,” Sophie said, as though that explained ever

  • Mated to My Alpha Bully    Chapter 68: One Lunch

CHLOE’S POVTristan had barely finished apologizing for the third time when his phone buzzed against his palm. He glanced at the screen and winced.“Sorry, that’s my physio reminder. I have to go. Can I get your number, though? So we can sort out the details of lunch over text.”Every sensible part of me wanted to refuse. But he had apologized so many times, and with so much effort, that turning him down now would only make me seem rude.“Sure,” I said quietly.I typed my number into his phone. He thanked me with a smile far too grateful for something so small, then jogged off toward the sports complex.…The moment we stepped into Kristal and Sophie’s dorm room, I kicked off my shoes and dropped onto the edge of Kristal’s bed, as though I could shed the whole afternoon along with them. My head was still full of Tristan’s voice. The sincerity in his apology and how he had done so in the middle of the courtyard with curious students around, pretending not to stare.“Okay, so we hav

  • Mated to My Alpha Bully    Chapter 66: Old Faces

CHLOE’S POVI had made myself a promise on the walk out of my last lecture, and I fully intended to keep it. No more getting involved with Drake or Tristan Black. No more letting either of them occupy my thoughts or take up space in my head.I already had enough to worry about, between my mother’s debt and the upcoming luna’s leadership test. I wasn’t about to let both guys add to my problems, or give either of them another minute of my time.It sounded convincing enough. The trouble was that my chest still went tight whenever Drake’s face drifted back into my thoughts, and I could still hear him calling Prisca his duty as though that justified everything. ‘Stop it,’ Nessa rang in my head. ‘You’ve survived worse than both of them. Just keep moving.’“Chloe! Over here!”Kristal was waving at me from the foot of the steps with both arms, while Sophie stood beside her, laughing and shaking her head. Seeing them loosened something in my shoulders that I hadn’t realized was knotted.“

CHLOE’S POV“Social institutions are not simply structures that exist independently of us. They are shaped by human behavior, and in turn, they influence how we interact with one another.”I quickly jotted down the professor’s words, underlining a few points in my notebook. For once, I was actually enjoying being in class.I was finally getting myself back, the same Grade A student I’d always been, and I intended to keep it that way. No more drama. No more unnecessary arguments with Drake. No more worrying about Prisca or whatever the two of them had going on. I had spent far too much time letting them occupy my thoughts. My education was something I could control, and I wanted to focus on that.“Alright, I think that will be all for today.”Professor Bright closed the book in front of him, and a few students began packing their belongings. “Before you leave, there’s one person I’d like to speak with. Chloe Dawson, I’d like to see you after class, please.”Several heads turned in

Tristan’s POV I was finally free of the sling I’d been wearing for weeks! The nurse had just confirmed that my recovery was progressing well. Although, she’d also warned me not to get carried away just because I could move my arm more freely. I had to be careful and keep up my exercises, and I would have to wait another three weeks before the medical team assessed whether my arm could withstand playing again. I wasn’t thrilled about that. But at least I was making progress, and getting the sling off felt like a small victory. I headed toward the meeting spot on campus, where I was supposed to meet Reggie and Daniela, another one of my close friends. On the way, I checked my phone. For once, I couldn’t find a single complaint about it. Ever since Reggie had it fixed, it had worked perfectly. That brought another person to mind. Chloe. I hadn’t run into her since seeing her in class, but I still felt guilty. I’d accused her of tampering with my phone and threatened t

CHLOE’S POVDrake let out a chuckle, the sound immediately pissed me off. He looked at me knowingly, as though he’d finally figured out what had been bothering me.“Oh, so that’s what this is about? This whole argument is about Prisca.”I stared at him, my irritation growing. “Yes, it is about Prisca. You shouldn’t be going around school with her like you’re not a married man. You’re the Alpha heir of this pack, for God’s sake. What do you think Alpha Victor is going to say when he finds out?”He looked unimpressed. “He’s not going to find out anything, because there’s nothing to find out. I’m only looking after her.”I scoffed. “Yes, I heard. That’s why you left me that morning after we slept together, right? To go and look after Prisca. Of course.”“Yes. That’s exactly why.” His expression hardened. “And honestly, I’d like to stop talking about Prisca now. She’s done absolutely nothing wrong. I’ve always known you’ve disliked her since high school for no reason.”My jaw tightened.

  • Mated to My Alpha Bully    Chapter 62: Clingy

CHLOE’S POV I stabbed at the chicken on my plate, my mind elsewhere. I hadn’t had a single straight thought since this morning. We were seated at the university’s food court, a busy area where most students gathered to eat between classes. Kristal and Sophie sat beside me. They’d just returned from their morning classes, and Kristal had been going on about how stressful university life already was. She was majoring in Film and Media and was beginning to realize passing the semester wouldn’t be as easy as she’d thought. “It’s not even the work,” she groaned. “It’s that everyone else seems to know what they’re doing.” I made a few absent-minded comments in response, barely following the conversation. Eventually, I noticed them both looking at me. “Are you okay?” Sophie asked. I looked between them, realizing how much I’d zoned out. “Yeah. I’m fine. I just have a lot on my mind.” Kristal tilted her head. “You’re still not thinking about what happened at the party, are yo
