Valen's POV

You know, parties are usually my thing. I love anything that loosens inhibitions and actually looks like fun. I like loud music, strong drinks, and the kind of energy that makes your wolf want to howl at the ceiling. But as I looked around at the wolves milling about, trying to maintain stiff social interactions, my vibe died immediately. I knew this couldn’t be a raving party, but what was this bleak mess?

The Alphas were standing around like they had sticks shoved up their spines.

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN

Author's POV — Epilogue The morning Darian and Valen left, the mansion felt too quiet. Madam Callisto stood by the front steps with a small travel trunk at her feet, already dressed for the road in a sturdy grey cloak. Beside her, the horses stamped and huffed in the cool air, harnessed to two separate carriages bound in opposite directions. South, toward Darian's territory. North, toward Valen's. Raven had wanted to open a portal for them right then and there and skip the whole miserable goodbye. But Elder Kaelith had been firm about it. Raven's control over teleportation was still shaky at best, and sending either King to the wrong side of a mountain, or worse, into the ocean, was not a risk worth taking. Not yet. So it would be the road. Weeks of it. "I still think this is ridiculous," Valen muttered, pulling Raven into his arms for what had to be the fifth time in the last hour. "We just got you back." "I know." Raven pressed her face into his chest, breathing him in.

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TEN

Raven's POV The air in the lounge room was thick, heavy with the scent of us intertwined. Darian’s broad shoulders blocked out the light, while Valen sat on the rug at my feet, his back leaning against the cushions.I could feel them. Not just their presence, but the pull between them. It had been simmering for hours—a subtle shift in the way Darian’s gaze lingered on the curve of Valen’s neck, or how Valen would lean into Darian’s space just a fraction too far. As their mate, I felt it in my own blood, a craving not just for them individually, but for the three of us to collide."You're staring, Raven," Darian murmured, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through the sofa and into my thighs."I'm observing," I whispered, my voice breathy. I reached out, my fingers grazing the nape of Darian’s neck while my other hand slid down to tangle in Valen’s hair. "The tension in this room is enough to snap a bone. Why are you both pretending?"V

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINE

Raven’s POV I walked down the hallway toward the dining hall where my father was supposed to be waiting for me. My fingers wrung together nervously as I stepped over the threshold, completely unsure of what to expect from the man sitting inside.Darian and Valen walked closely right behind me, their nearby presence a constant guard. They had claimed they would be close because they didn't trust this stranger one bit yet.As I entered the grand room, I saw a man with a broad, well-built frame standing near the tall window. He was looking away toward the gardens, but the moment he heard the sound of my shoes on the floor, he turned around. The second my eyes locked onto his face, I was hit with a wave of overwhelming emotion. We looked so strikingly alike that there was absolutely no question of whether we were related. He had the same jawline, the same warm eye shape, and the exact tone of my skin. Even deep inside me, Eva stirred, feeling an unde

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT

Raven's POV I recognized the tall, imposing figure of Alpha Storm, except he wasn't one-eyed at all anymore. His left eye was open, glowing a vivid, unnatural purple in the dim light.Alpha Storm looked at Malakai, his tone flat. "I came to make sure you didn't hurt my brother."Malakai's jaw tightened in visible anger. "I do not care what your reason is. Leave these lands right now."Alpha Storm blandly muttered, "Whatever," turning on his heel to walk away. He reached back and pulled someone behind him—a shorter figure who was frantically trying to peek around his broad back to see what was happening, though Storm’s size completely dwarfed them. When the person finally managed to step out from behind his shoulder, I gasped out loud, and the girl did the same thing simultaneously. It was Diane!"Diane!" I squealed, running toward her as fast as my gown would allow. She ran forward too, and we collided in a tig

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN

Darian’s POV Valen and I had never imagined how long it would actually take us to find civilization once we crossed into Novai. After hours of tracking across the vast plains, we finally reached the outskirts of the sprawling mage settlement. We had to wait patiently for nightfall to cover us before silently crawling past houses and quiet streets to find the palace. When we finally located the towering stone fortress, we charged in with zero time to waste. As we approached the outer courtyard walls, we could hear low, rhythmic singing echoing from inside, which meant whatever event was happening likely had everything to do with Raven. Valen and I paused near the perimeter, quickly planning our approach. We agreed to scale the outer stone wall together and silently take out any guard patrolling the outer edge. We also knew we had to avoid any magic thrown at us for as long as we possibly could. Hopefully, the mages trusted their death pool and outer anti-teleportation wards enough

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIX

Raven's POV Eirene turned around without saying a word, walking briskly ahead and expecting me to follow behind him. My eyes darted around the hallway for any possible escape route before I was forced into a binding ritual with some random stranger and made the Queen of Novai.I was currently pretending to still have lost my memories. If I showed any sign of resistance right now, they would instantly know my mind was intact, and Goddess only knew what much worse things they would do to keep me pliant. I decided the smartest move was to wait for Darian and Valen to show up first, since I knew for a fact they were extremely close by.We eventually entered a large, open-top courtyard room with the pale moonlight spilling in from above. A small group of mages was gathered around the center, all clad in long, flowing robes. The entire atmosphere felt bizarrely somber, like a funeral was about to take place rather than a royal celebration. Sitting in a carved stone chair near the front was

Raven’s POVKing Darian’s hands were steady as he tried to keep me from falling for the third time. At this point, I wasn’t just shocked, I was beyond mortified. I had completely and utterly embarrassed myself in front of the most powerful man in the South. My mind was spinning. The son of my own A

Raven's POVThe banging on the door sounded like a hammer against my skull. Through the thick wood, I could hear the faint, annoying screech of Miss Freya’s voice telling us to get moving.I groaned and pulled my pillow over my head, but it didn't help. My roommates were already starting to stir. S

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER FOUR

Raven's POV The next few weeks were filled with lessons and lectures. We were drilled on everything from Southern customs to Northern etiquette. Mr. Rake and Miss Freya made it very clear that we were to be invisible but perfect. We learned how to address Alphas from other packs, where we were all

  • Mated to Rival Kings   CHAPTER THREE

Raven's POV “Wake up. Wake up, Raven!”I could feel hands shaking my shoulders aggressively. I groaned, pulling my thin blanket higher over my head. I wasn't willing to rouse from sleep yet. My body felt like it was made of lead, and my eyelids were glued shut.“What time did you sleep that you ar
