Chapter 1

Author: Juno
The day of our Mating Ceremony finally arrived.

As the Elder stood before the pack, his voice booming as he announced the exchange of our soul-binding rings, Julian—the man standing across from me—suddenly spoke.

"Actually," he said, his voice cutting through the sacred silence. "I’ve been fucking Chloe."

I froze. He didn't even blink as he watched the color drain from my face.

"While you were busy trying on your ceremonial gown, we were in the dressing room right next to yours," he continued, his tone chillingly conversational. "She couldn't help but scream when she climaxed. You actually thought she was falling ill; you spent ten minutes checking on her through the door, worried sick."

"Later, while she stood by your side helping you pick out jewelry, her legs were shaking so hard she could barely stand."

In that instant, I felt the blood turn to ice in my veins.

Stiffly, I turned my head toward the woman standing in the front row, wearing a radiant smile.

Chloe.

She was waving her bouquet, cheering my name at the top of her lungs. Just an hour ago, she had been brushing tears from her eyes as she straightened the train of my dress, squeezing my hands and telling me I deserved all the happiness in the world.

"Even just now, while you were preparing for the ritual, she was riding me," Julian added, his voice dropping to a low, rough growl. "She got so worked up her claws shredded the skin on my back."

He looked down at the silver band in his hand—the ring he had yet to slide onto my finger—with total indifference.

"I’m laying it all out there, Elara," he said. "Whether you still want the title of Luna is entirely up to you."

...

A deathly silence fell over the town square.

The entire pack was waiting for the union to be sealed. My mother was there, too. She had been covering her mouth to stifle tears of joy; now, her expression had twisted into one of pure horror.

I stood on the altar like a hollow shell, my soul ripped from my body.

Why? Why did it have to be today?

My hands and feet went numb. The weight of that ring felt like it was crushing the air out of my lungs. I looked at Julian. Seeing my pathetic, broken state, his face actually filled with a sense of relief.

"I’m done with the secrecy," he muttered. "I’m tired of making up excuses and reporting my every move to you just to see her for five minutes. I’m tired of Chloe feeling guilty every time we’re in bed together."

When he spoke of Chloe, his eyes softened with genuine heartache. It was as if completing this ceremony with me was the greatest sacrifice he’d ever had to make.

It was absurd.

Only last night, he had been holding me, grinning like a fool. "Elara, I’m finally bringing you into the Pack as my mate. It feels like a dream."

But now, he was looking at me with nothing but impatience, demanding a decision.

"Julian, you are an absolute bastard!"

Tears streaming down my face, I hurled the ring at him, watching it strike his cheek. Ignoring the collective gasp of the crowd, I hiked up my skirts and bolted from the altar.

I ran as fast as my legs would carry me.

I didn't stop until Chloe caught up, grabbing me firmly by the wrist.

"Elara! What happened? Did Julian do something to you?"

Her eyes were wide with frantic concern, as if she were completely oblivious. But I was staring at her neck—at the dark, angry mark left by an Alpha’s teeth. It was a fresh mating bite, a violent shade of red.

My mind began to race.

I remembered when I first suspected she had a secret lover. My first instinct had been to be happy for her. Even when she’d taken explicit calls from him right in front of me, boasting about how he’d spent the whole night wrecking her...

I never once connected the dots to Julian.

God, how could I have been so stupid?

I forced a jagged, mocking smile through my tears. "So, Chloe... how does it feel to get fucked by my Alpha?"

The color drained from her face instantly.

Seeing her reaction, I knew. It was all true.

A bitter ache rose in my chest. I wanted to ask her why. She had spent nights awake, hand-tying the very bouquet I was holding. She had smiled through her exhaustion and said, "My best friend's flowers have to be special, Elara. I’m going to make sure you’re the happiest Luna in history."

I had believed I had the perfect mate and the truest friendship. What a pathetic joke.

Chloe stood frozen, looking past me toward Julian, who was striding our way.

"You told her everything?" she asked. She didn't deny it. She didn't even try to explain. Her first words were a demand to know why Julian had ruined the lie.

My stomach turned.

She had actually intended to keep playing the "best friend" after the ceremony. She wanted to keep listening to me share my joy while she spent her nights opening her legs for my husband.

The sheer disgust was overwhelming. I wrenched my hand out of her grip.

Julian reached us, his brow furrowed as if he still had something to say. But I didn't want to hear another word.

I grabbed the delicate lace of my ceremonial dress and tore it downward, letting the white fabric fall into the mud. I turned my back on them and sprinted toward the woods at the edge of the territory.

The wind roared in my ears.

I left them behind—the fake altar, the lies, and every ounce of the humiliation they had tried to bury me in.

  • Mated to a Liar   Chapter 8

Silas ran through every cemetery in the region like a man possessed. He asked at every gate and searched every row until, finally, at the edge of the territory in a graveyard overgrown with white roses, he found my mother’s name. Her headstone was new, and her photo showed her smiling, just as she used to look at him.He remembered her holding his hand, her eyes shining with hope. "Silas, I’m entrusting Ivy to you. Love her well and make her the happiest female in the Pack." When he fell to his knees, they slammed against the stone with a dull thud, but he felt nothing."Ma'am..." his voice was a ragged whisper. What could he possibly say? Could he tell her that while a rogue’s silver claws were ripping my back open, he was busy icing Bella’s bruises? Could he admit that while I knelt alone in a hospital hallway praying for her life, he was cradling Bella to sleep? He remained there, kneeling from afternoon until the sky turned black. When the groundskeeper came to close the gates, Sil

  • Mated to a Liar   Chapter 7

Silas couldn’t stop his mind from spiraling back to the exact moment Ivy’s mother suffered her fatal attack. The scene played on a loop in his head: he had burst into the room to find Ivy’s mother frail and gasping on the bed, while Ivy herself was screaming, her hands locked onto Bella’s arms. At the time, he was convinced Ivy was the aggressor—that she was the one "making a scene."But the brutal truth had finally surfaced. It was Bella. Bella had provoked a dying woman until her heart gave out.And Silas? He had stood on the wrong side. He had stood against the woman he claimed to love, ruthlessly shoving her away. He hadn't even glanced at the jagged wound on Ivy's back before walking out with her tormentor. The last of his strength evaporated. Silas collapsed onto the floor, his hand shaking so violently he could barely hold his phone."I’m sorry, Ivy... I was wrong. It’s all my fault.""Please... just pick up the phone."He dialed her number again and again, like a man possessed.

The next morning, the sun’s glare jolted Silas awake. He reached up to shield his eyes, only to find Bella sleeping naked against his arm. They had spent the night tangled together. But as he looked at her, a hollow ache gnawed at his chest. Not a single text from Ivy. Not one.In the past, she would have bombarded his phone with frantic, hysterical questions. Now, the silence of his phone was more terrifying than any confrontation. He couldn't shake the image of Ivy from the previous day—collapsed on the floor, blood soaking through the back of her shirt, dragging herself toward the door while screaming for a Healer. In that moment, a sharp pang had pierced his heart. He had instinctively wanted to rush to her, to scoop her up and hold her.But then he had seen her coldness toward Bella. He had suppressed his protective instinct, telling himself she needed to be taught a lesson. Now, that arrogance was being replaced by a crawling sense of dread. He pulled his arm away, startling Bell

I went to the Pack pharmacy to pick up the last few herbal prescriptions for my mother. When I returned to her hospital room, the sound of violent screaming echoed from inside.I rushed into the room to find Bella kneeling by my mother’s bedside, her face drenched in tears."I’m so sorry, ma'am. I’m the one who hurt Ivy. I’m the one who tore them apart," she sobbed. "I’m shameless! I seduced Silas! Please, just hit me! I’ll leave the Pack for good! I’ll give Ivy back her happiness!"My mother’s frail body couldn't handle the shock. Trembling with fury, she pointed a finger at Bella and forced herself to stand up from the bed."Shut up !" my mother rasped. "I will never let my daughter be mated to a piece of trash who’s been sleeping with you!"As she took a single step, she collapsed heavily onto the floor, clutching her chest and gasping for air."Ma'am! What’s happening ?" Bella reached out to help her, but I lunged forward and shoved her hands away."What the hell are you doing?" I

Silence fell over the room like a tomb. My heart died in that very second. On the day my father died—the day Silas claimed he was on a "classified mission" and Bella claimed she was bedridden with a "severe flu"—they had been in the same bed all along. My desperate cries for help over the phone had been nothing more than background music for their sex. Silas hadn’t even shown his face at my father’s funeral.Afterward, as I was tortured day and night by the grief of losing him, Silas had held me in his arms, whispering sweet lies. "It’s okay, Ivy. Your father has become the brightest star in the sky, watching over you. I’ll take his place and protect you forever."The truth was this filthy.A flash of panic crossed Silas’s face. He reached out to me. "I’m sorry, Ivy. I..." "I was just worked up. I didn't mean it."I bit my lip so hard the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. Like a woman possessed, I began smashing everything in the room—including our framed wedding photos."Get ou

  • Mated to a Liar   Chapter 3

After finishing the admission paperwork for my mother, I returned to the place we called "home". The walls were still covered in those piercing red decorations. I wasn't tall enough to reach, so Silas had lifted me up, letting me press them into place with my own hands. I remembered leaning against his shoulder, the scent of pine clinging to him, feeling like the luckiest woman in the world. Even the red bedding had been something we picked out together. The happiness we had built brick by brick was shattered in a single day.I had just opened my suitcase when Silas walked in. He headed straight for the bedroom, likely assuming I was just throwing a tantrum."The house is yours. You don’t have to move; I’ll be the one to leave," he said, his tone chillingly calm. "You don't need to pay back any of the money I gave you; consider it a settlement. Just stop making trouble for Bella. She hasn't had it easy"That last sentence made me snap."She hasn't had it easy? What about me, Silas?""I
