CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FORTY TWO

ZEPHYR’S POV

I looked forward, all my attention drawn to the voice in the crowd. But not out of anger, out of sheer wonder. Who was it that had the guts to speak up when the alpha had made a declaration?

The Crowd was obviously as eager as I was because they too, turned towards the voice. A young wolf was standing on his feet, wearing a bloody glare and it was directed at me. There was no fear in his eyes. No quiver in his bone, he was more than ready to drive a claw into my heart if he had the slightest chance.

I leaned back on my throne, like that world to me and I gazed at him, with keen interest, to see what he would do next. Theodore knew me well. I loved to watch a challenger prove that he was worth my time so he decided to give the young wolf a chance to prove his was not a joke.

“Young council men, do you not know how wrong it is to speak like that to the alpha?” Theodore called him out for his behavior. He did not show a single hint it remorse.
