CHAPTER 4

TAYLOR’S POV

_TWO DAYS LATER _

I looked out my window, onto the quiet streets below. The window blew through my hair, a slight chill in the air. It rained last night, that's why.

Unconsciously, my mind drifted back to that night. The wounds were gone but the scars never left. Everytime I stood in front of the vanity, they reminded me of my sick faith. Like the goddess had taken care to make mine especially miserable.

First my best friend betrayed me, then I got mated to the one person I hate with every bone in my body, my dad finds out about my bullying and then a mysterious someone tells the whole pack I am mated to the alpha’s son, now I am officially a town clown.

Could things get any worse. I let out a sharp exhale, throwing my hands on the window pane. Loose strands of hair covering my face. I took a peek inside the room to find my brush, that's when I heard it

The honking of cars as their engines made those vroom sounds while they drove down the road. I nearly threw myself out the window, trying to see who it was before they got close to our place. I managed to catch a glimpse. The instant I saw the golden wolf emblem, I knew exactly who it was.

‘Zephyr… damn it. Just when I thought things wouldn't get any worse.’

I flopped away from the windows, dived into the sheets and covered myself up, pretending to be asleep.

It took only seconds for Mum to come knocking at my door.

“Taylor.” She pushed the door open. In my house, it was an unspoken rule to never lock the door. I wasn't looking at her but I could already envision her making that ‘You gotta be kidding me’ expression on her

Face.

“Dress up and come down stairs.” I heard her footsteps leave the room slowly.

“Don't make me come up there twice.” She yelled, walking down the stairway. I pressed my eyes shut and gripped the sheets tight. I wanted to disobey her. But I couldn't. No one in the house ever crossed mum.

“Uh!!!” I flung the sheets in the air and stumbled out of bed. Damn everything, I am not changing. I am going downstairs like this. I don't have anything to say to him.

I stumped down stairs while muttering grumpy curses. My face twisted with displeasure.

Only one pair of eyes greeted me when I made it to the sitting room. It was Zephyr’s. He was sitting with his legs crossed and his occasionally tight shirt, which he had conveniently left three buttons open for the imagination to wonder.

I kept my eyes up, looking boldly at him and trying not to look down. I knew exactly how what was behind all those fancy clothes and I didn't want to think about it.

“What do you want, Zephyr?”

“Is that how you greet your future Alpha?” he growled at me.

“Future Alpha?” I looked around feigning sincere surprise. “Where? I can't see him.”

He glared at me. I held a smug look on my face.

“I don't have time for your sassy mouth. Get in the car. The alpha requests for you?”

The smile wiped off my face immediately.

“Why?”

He didn't spare me a glance. “You will know when you get there.”

Suddenly, my gut twisted and my heart started palpitating. For some reason, I didn't want to leave the house.

Zephyr stopped at the door, noticing that he wasn't being followed.

“Get off you ass Taylor.” He yelled.

“I’m not going.” I sprang up from the Parlor couch.

“Yes, you are.” He made for me, so fast that before I could blink twice, his hand had gripped me.

Just a touch. That all it took to ignite the mate bond. To set that fire ablaze again. The room suddenly got hotter. My mind going sex-crazed like it has been starved for years.

I yanked on his hand. Trying to break out of his grip. There was no way I was riding in that cramped car with him. I would be begging to get laid before we even left this street.

Zephyr’s grip tightened. He was adamant on dragging me along. I had to do something… anything.

My naughty eyes fell on his waist. Zephyr never wore a belt. Which means….

I grabbed his pants and yanked on them. Zephyr let go of me immediately, snatching the air in vain effort to get a hold of his clothes. The trousers slipped down to the floor.

I froze. He wasn't wearing shorts over his tighty-whities. His bulge was right before my eyes.

I freaked, screamed and went into a frenzy. In the middle of my histeria, I kicked Zephyr right in the groin.

Beta Ian, second in command to my dad, drove us back to the palace. Apparently, Zephyr has come along with him but asked him to wait in the car. What a lovely choice that was.

I avoided looking his way the whole drive through. Partly because he kept messaging his belt region and raining curses on me.

The whole scuffle in the house took up a lot of precious time, Ian said, so immediately we drove in, I was led into the throne room.

Zephyr stood beside his father and I was placed in the middle of the room. I kept my head down, fidgeting with my fingers. Thinking of what to say. The judging eyes peering down in me all around the room gave me goosebumps. My palms suddenly got real sweaty.

Finally some broke the uneasy silence.

“Is this the Alpha’s mate? The moon goddess must be making mockery of us?’

I frowned. ‘Wait… what did that old fart just say?’

“I was shocked when I heard the news. Our poor Alpha to be, is so unlucky.” another council man said, sympathetically.

“If she was pretty, it would have been manageable.”

I squeezed the my left hand. Holding up a plastic smile. But within, I was a seething cauldron of anger.

“An Omega for a Luna. It's disgusting just saying it. She is good for nothing with that behind as flat as a ruler.” A she-wolf spoke this time.

I felt the cauldron explode inside me. My eyes darted towards the voice.

I wasn't going to take this shit hands down.

“At least my face doesn't scare children away.” I snapped.

The wolf sprang from her chair. I ignored her, turning around to face the Almighty Alpha who keeps gossiping salon boys in disguise as council men.

TAYLOR’S POVI had been cooked up in my room for so long. Zephyr put me on lockdown literally. Only he could get in and out. I couldn’t leave for any reason. He flagged off all my explanations as my care free attitude making me forget the danger I was in. We bickered about this every time, for a while. Then I decided I had to do more than just talk. I wouldn’t let him strap me down like was too weak to even imagine a salvation for myself if I enter into trouble. So I gave him the silent treatment. I slept early and I woke up late. Honestly, I didn’t think ignoring him would work as well as it did until he woke me this morning and he said.“If I let you make one walk every week, will you stop shutting me out?” I kept a plain face but inside me, I was grinning from ear to ear.“No.” I had replied. “I will stop shutting you out if you let me train and let me make one walk every week.”A deep frown settled on his face, immediately. Like I had said the unspeakable. I felt to take my wo

ERETRIA He maintained radio silence for over a week until finally he contacted me. He dropped a venue and asked me to dress up like I was old and ill. He said he would be watching me. As a ghost, be couldn’t come into the light and be my escort, it was obvious. I dressed up, wrinkled my face, haggard my looks and found a walking stick then I went on foot towards the center he had told me. The closer I came, the more obvious it became what was happening. The pack doctor was organizing free medical care for old wolves that couldn’t get proper treatment because of the lock down. I fit myself into the crowd and followed it slowly until I can to the top. “Pack doctor Leo.” I spoke in a hoarse, shaking tone. “Am I dying?”“Lets not be quick to conclude. We need to be have you looked at first.” He said calmly, leading me into that giant tent. He helped me sit down on a soft blue wrapped bed. He turned his back on me and went around the room, picking up some medicinal tools to check wh

ERETRIA He found himself a place and sat next to me, making himself comfortable by my side. I leaned on his shoulder, watching the beautiful sunset. He was quiet the whole time. Like he always was except today it felt a bit different.“Is something bothering you?” I asked. “No.” was all he said and kept quiet again.“You can talk to me. You know you can. I’m always here for you. I can be whatever you want me to be.” I whispered. He heaved and rose to his feet, shoving me off like I wasn’t even important.“If you are offering your body to me, I pass. I don’t want what everyone has touched. I’m here because you can no longer meet the person I sent to you who would help with that issue because our previous rendezvous was compromised. I’m here because I know you can’t execute your plan without me.”“I’m happy you are here but you really don’t have to make it look like you are helping me because it’s some kind of favor you can’t avoid.”He looked away from me, walking to the giant slidi

ZEPHYR’S POV“Yes, there are two of our ghosts who are not with us now.”“Do they have names?” I asked him. “N….” He paused, rethinking his reply again. Then he said.“We go by one name, Ghost. Any other name aside this, I am unaware of it. I know it seems undutiful for me to not have this simple information but sometimes our ghosts tend to break out of character and hence get themselves into scenarios that end up leaving them with souvenirs like names, tattoos, tags.”“What kind of activities do you term as ‘breaking out of character’?”He heaved. “Activities like drinking, drinking in any locations, having emotions, expressing emotions, stopping on the way to a mission it’s doesn’t matter the reason. Having a family, getting a failing, returning to your family, burning your family, been seen anywhere near the burial of a family member.. “ he went on a d on until It was obvious and impossible to pretend that everything he said was not pretty much everything a normal wolf did.“So

ZEPHYR’S POV I lay awake, staring at the celling. Taylor snuggled in my arms and sleeping soundly. The events of these few weeks kept playing in my mind. Something about it all seemed so out of place but I couldn’t guess why. First father dies in Oscala’s hometown. A pack that had been abandoned for so long. The witch had no intention of killing him so why did she bother to bring him there where her powers were strongest? What was her real reason? Oscala said his body was filled with dark magic because he was sleeping with the witch. Hut his heart was not gripped by her magic. If he really loved her then where did he meet her? Why did she go to him to begin with? If she was really looking for SHILA’s daughter, there was so many ways she would have gone about it, father was not important.Does it mean she fell in love with father too? If so, where did they meet and who did she say she was. Father had never been the type to pick up strays, rogues or the banished. She must have posed

  • Mated to my Bully    CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FORTY EIGHT.

ERETRIA I rode the horse far into the woods beyond that old house of the chief of wolves. I had previously agreed to rendezvous with my Trump card outside the pack but since that was not going to happen then it meant he was probably going to come looking for me at the place where I and him met last and crafted the last plan.I turned east, keeping myself hidden in the forest and vegetation but the capital city of the pack has little forests so the grass and trees kept thinning out until there we barely anything left. I ditched the horse and covered my face with a cloak, navigating through the city quietly. The essence I had stolen was weaning and I was losing my face. But they wasn’t the worst part of it. The bad thing about my magic growing unstable, was the tremors and they were coming slowly. I docked behind a big house with an alley at the back fence. I leaned against the wall, breathing fast. My gripped my arm holding it down so it could stop trembling so much. It didn’t stop
