CHAPTER 5
TAYLOR'S POV “With all due respect Alpha. I don't want this. Your son is a mateless idiot who spends all day bullying people. I don't want to be mated to an asshole like him. You all should get it out of your dumb heads.” The Alpha raised a brow,a grin tugging on his lips. I may be mistaken but he seemed charmed by my audacity. “How dare you talk to the Alpha like that!” Zephyr yelled at me. “Zip it tiny dick.” Gasps erupted in the crowd. Zephyr visibly turned red with Anger. “You know what, do you bloody think I want to be mated with you.” My lips pursed into an ‘Oh’, feigning shock in the most mocking way possible. “You were eager to jump into my pants that what I know.” I pointed at the hickey on my neck. He frowned. “Look who is talking. You were practical begging for it. Moaning like some whore.” “Well at least I am not the puny alpha who can't get it up even when he is rubbing his bulge against a girl's cunt.” He growled at me immediately, his voice shaking the room full of blushing people. “Shut up before I rip out that tongue of yours.” “Go ahead. You have rammed me down with a car, threw bricks at me, beat me with rods and tried to choke me to death. What is the worst you could possibly do?” I yelled at him. No more games, anger was gnawing at me and I wanted to finally let it all out. “Look at you. Parading yourself as if the goddess did me a favor by pairing me with you. To me you are a curse. I would rather be mated to a toilet seat.” “Taylor-” “Don't you dare call my name. I hate you. I, Taylor…. Reject Zephyr… as my mate!” A wave rushed into the room and hit Zephyr and I immediately. The backfire of the rejection was twice as bad as it could have ever been. The pain drove into my chest like an arrow head, throwing us both to the floor. I lost consciousness immediately. ******* I rubbed my back for the umpteenth time. Gosh, I hurt every everywhere. That fall did a number on me not to mention my ass got a tad flatter after I fellbon my back. We were sitting on the same bed in Zephyr's room. The Alpha ordered that after we woke up in the infirmary. I took my time to admire the beautiful choice of golden and black on the walls and the curtains and the door too. Never knew I dweeb like him had a taste for good interior design. I always thought a cave was prettier than his room. While Zephyr boiled away in anger that I couldn't give half an ‘F’ about. The Alpha left for a while. Ian kept an eye on us. Luckily, he returned shortly after unless Zephyr may have actually bitten my head off judging from the glares he flashed at me. “You two seem to be getting along.” The alpha said, sitting down. I gave him a weird stare. “What made you think that?” “Dad, please get to the point. I can't keep sitting her with this sassy bitch.” Zephyr grumpled I looked at the king. “You heard the tiny dick, please speak to us.” “My dick is not…” I grinned, waiting for him to complete it. He eyed me. I bet he was imagining all the terribles ways to make me die. If not for the alpha, I would have laughed my ass off. “Enough you two. The mate of an Alpha to be, is no child's play. The future of the kingdom is at stake here.” He scolded us. His fatherly tone had us lowering our heads like disobedient kids. I could tell he wasn't joking about this. But neither were we. The moon goddess made a bloody mistake. We are not compatible. Zephyr would probably tear me apart that is if I didn't kill him first. “I know that Dad, which is why the goddess can't pair me with her. I need a Luna, not skin and bone.” Zephyr emphasized like he was doing me a favor. I let out a scornful laugh and muttered. “At least the moon goddess didn't reject my offer for a mate three times in a row.” “Cut it out you two.” The Alpha growled at us. We both went mute immediately. He looked at me. “Taylor. I apologize on behalf of my son for everything he put you through. I had no idea. And I assure you. He will pay for it.” “Alpha.” I cut in. “I know you mean well. But I really can't be his mate. I honestly don't know why the bond didn't server from my end but I really wished it did.” “I know.” His tone was soft and compassionate. “But you have to understand Taylor. Breaking mate bonds isn't that easy anymore.” “Why is that? I genuinely hate him. Isn't that enough.” Zephyr eyed me. He looked upset but somewhat sad about what I just said. “There is a ritual. A very long one. The Moon goddess is tired of broken bonds so she has insisted on this ritual. It involves me and all the council men and none of us are willing to go through all of that.” “Why?!” I was desperate and wasn't thinking straight. “I can't unless you get a good reason.” “What other reason do you need?” The Alpha took a deep breath and exhaled. I wasn't going to budge. I would do anything to stay away from Zephyr. He could see that now. “Zephyr, do you want her to be your Luna?” “May the goddess forbid.” He answered immediately. “See.” “Here's what’s going to happen. I will break your bond but on one condition. If on the one year anniversary of your marriage, both of you have stayed unmated and unmarked by each other, I will initiate the ritual and break your bond.” “HOLD ON A SEC... I HAVE TO MARRY HIM?”ZULU’S POV“Oscala, we are ready. All of us. When do we leave?” I asked him. He was in the kitchen mixing up some medicine.“In three hours. We need to b sure the kingdom Is asleep before we move. The last thing we need is for innocent Lycans to get in that and get hurt. That sorcerer has no empathy or compassion. He will certainly be glad to use anything to stop us.”I nodded. “Don’t worry I understand what you mean. I know creatures of that kind of nature very well. Alpha Kaden was just the same. He slaughtered many Lycans who were just innocent pack members, going about Their daily lives with no knowledge that their king had pick a fight with a great enemy. They all became collateral damage.”“We will avoid that as much as possible.” Oscala looked up to me. “Do you still remember the plan?”“Yes. We will enter through the west gate. It is very close to the palace kitchen. In the kitchen we will meet a she-lycan that will give us disguises. The guards and I will start a ruckus so
TAYLOR’S POV“When you have the weight of the world on your shoulders, you should feel less and less sympathetic because your sympathy is what will ruin the world. I learned it the hard way.” She told me. I couldn’t help but ask again.“What happened to you mother?” She looked last me at Oscala. She sighed. “Our old friend will have to excuse us before we have that conversation. So you need to send him out of your mind.”I turned to Oscala. He was quiet, looking at me. I couldn’t tell whether he wanted to leave or stay. I wish he would give me a clue but I knew he left me in that situation where I had to decide myself. It was awful and I know I’m safer if he is here but…I shut my eyes and turned my back on him. I really want to know what mother has to say. I wished his away from my mind. He vanished immediately. I opened my eyes and I saw an entirely different place. A garden. A very beautiful garden.Mother smiled when she saw the light in my eyes. “I thought this place would be a
TAYLOR’S POV“Taylor. Taylor.” Oscala called out my name. Perhaps he wanted to tell me the wasn’t any time for my tears. I knew that but I didn’t want to hear it. Since I didn’t have to right to be happy, I should at least have that right to cry.“Taylor. Taylor get up. Taylor.”I clenched my teeth, my face twisting in anger. Why can’t he just leave me to work at my own pace? Can’t he see this do not that time for his commands?“Taylor, get up, come on!”“What?!” I sprang up and yelled into his face. “Do you ever shut up? Can you not read the mood, huh??” he didn’t say anything, instead he gestured to me to turn around. I did, slowly. My gaze fell on something.. no someone. She had her back turned to us. A cloak on her falling and pooling at her feet. I frowned.‘What is that? How are they in my mind?’“Oscala, what did you just conjure up?”“Its not me. I think this is you. Whatever that it, it appeared when you yelled for you mother.”I squinted, carefully walking towards the fig
TAYLOR’S POVI shut my eyes. I could hear his screaming. I could feel his pain. I wanted it to end immediately. I regretted every second I made him take this decision but there was nothing I could do. He wasn’t listening to me. He was determined for reasons I couldn’t comprehend anymore. His attempt to get in, went on for a few seconds before it stopped. My eyes burst open instantly. I searched for him in the darkness beyond the place I was in. I swear him. His body had been badly injured and his arm was very scarred.‘Oscala please stop.’ I spoke with my mind’s voice. It came out firmer then it did before. ‘I was the one that asked you to help me. Now I have seen how dangerous and unrealistic my request is, I’m ending it. You can’t keep going at this and doing it like it was not a request asked if you. Like it is what you had wanted to do before just waiting for the right motivation. Frankly, I don’t car what you reason is. Just stop this and get us out of here.’He was still. He
TAYLOR’S POV“Taylor you sound fat too certain. Give yourself some credit. You know yourself. You would never hurt anyone around here.”“My wolf will. Its a mindless killing machine right now. Like it or not. Oscala can see stop speculating and do something. Zephyr…he is…. He is my sanity. If Zephyr was with us I might have believed what you said about hurting no one but he isn’t.”He leaned backwards, his gaze going cold and calm all of a sudden. I muttered an apology. I knew what I said was out of term. I should not have made it look like no one here matter to me except Zephyr.“I’m guessing you need a plan that is full proof for tonight.” He said getting up. “The only way in the world we quicken the process of your acquaintance with your wolf, is if I go into your mind and meet your wolf. Force feed it knowledge of whom to hurt and whom not to. Taylor, this is a very painful process and your wolf might fight back. Even if I succeed, your wolf can only stay away from those I’ve sho
TAYLOR’S POV Resha’s mother got us all out the underground room through a different tunnel. According to her, it was built so that once in, everyone in was locked in and could not leave until someone in and someone out opened the door together. I thought it was a very brilliant construct. Imagine if the outside wasn’t safe then throw king would never be able to go outside and meet his doom accidentally. No one outside could come to the king too. If someone dared to follow through log in to kill him, he had no way out. And with the way the insides of this place is built, not many who dare to follow the king in here to kill him can succeed. “Is there a place like this in the wolf kingdom?” Zulu calm yet still charming and deep, voice drew me out of my reverie. I glanced over my shoulders to see him looking in the direction of the underground and staring as though he has seen an ancient artifact. “We have an escape route but it’s nothing as good as this. Wolves are very proud creatu
