KEYLA

"I see you've met my assistant."

Chase's voice startled me, and I immediately averted my gaze from Hunter. I didn't even realize that I had been staring until I heard Chase's voice.

He and Hunter stared at each other, and I could've sworn there was this kind of familiar demeanour between the both of them.

Hunter chuckled softly, taking a sip out of his whiskey. "Aren't you a darling?" There was sarcasm laced in his tone.

Chase rolled his eyes and snatched me away from Hunter. "Can you go and be annoying elsewhere? We have work to do," Chase said.

Hunter shrugged. "What's the rush, brother?" He tucked his hands into his pants.

Wait, what?

He was his brother. No wonder he looked familiar. "Is there anything wrong with spending some time with my mate?"

Chase froze in the spot. It was like blood drained out of his face, and I'm sure I've never seen him look out of it before.

He sighed, and it wasn't easy to study the expression on his face. "She's our mate," he responded.

    KEYLA I woke up with a loud groan, pulling the blanket over my head. “No, no, no…” I whispered to myself. I couldn’t believe last night. Did it really happen? Was it just a dream?
