Ilayda

Soni was laying in the middle of the garden letting the nice breeze blow through her fur while I was listening to the wind tell me all of the packs secrets when all of a sudden the back door burst open and my father comes running out in a panic making her jump.

“Ila! Soni!” He shouts.

Something about the fear in his voice sends shivers down my spine. Soni darts over to him and he ushers us inside. He quickly locks the door behind him before kneeling down and throwing his arms around us. I can feel him shaking as he grips her fur.

“Henry honey let her shift she’s right here she’s okay” I hear the soothing voice of my mom say. She’s also crouched down next to him and their smells of Earl gray and Chamomile tea mix together created a calming effect. She helps him up and leads him out so I can shift. “Baby we’ll be in the living room.”

Quickly shifting I put on my clothes from earlier and race out. Something is horribly wrong for my parents to be acting like this.

"Ila I don’t like this. Something’s not right." Soni is running circles in my mind worried.

"I know Soni I know," I murmer to her.

I walk over and sit on the sofa, Leo waddles over to me and I pull him into my lap breathing in his scent. Looking up at my dad as I watch him as he sits in his recliner his head in his hands, my mom perched in his lap rubbing his shoulders. “Dad?” I gently call out to him.

He looks up at me and breathes out shakily. “As you know Kane and Cynthia’s ceremony is in a few days. The Grey Lake Pack… have been invited.” My Dad pauses, “As well as the Shadow Land Pack ” My mom freezes and she looks at my father in horror. My face starts to pale and my vision is spotty. The Shadow pack was the only pack that outranked the Grey Lake Pack in numbers and power. They were the most powerful pack in the United States with a spine chilling reputation to match. Their Alpha was known to be a ruthless wolf whose abilities seemed otherworldly. People say one of their ancestors sold themselves to the devil many years ago and that is why they have so much power. “The Grey Lake Pack had to be invited to ensure our pack would stay on neutral grounds due to their close proximity. We can’t risk becoming their enemy, and the Shadow Land is always invited. For some reason they have decided to attend this ceremony, out of all the invitations they decide on this one." Dad's voice breaks and his knuckles are white clenching his fists, small amounts of blood pooling from his palms where his claws have retracted. The Shadow Land pack always snubbed invitations; it is rare to see them outside of their borders for anything, even an Alpha ceremony. I look at my father and see the pain and fear in his eyes. Putting Leo down I walk over and kneel in front of him grabbing his hands and gently prying them open to unclench them. Reaching over into the coffee table to grab our soothing balm and some muslin to wrap around his hands.

“It’s gonna be okay Dad” letting out a long breath, appling the balm to his hands. “I won’t shift, I’ll stay inside” I feel my dad trembling.

“As the daughter of the pack doctor and because your mom is the Beta's sister, you have to be at the ceremony Pumpkin,” His voice catches at the end.

Nodding I focus on tending to his hands to keep my voice from breaking, “it’s been years, we left when I was 4. My horns were too small. There is no way they will recognize me. Plus you told them I died on the journey here many years ago. I’ll hide my ears it’s going to be okay.” Standing up I sit on his other side and let him hold me tight.

“The alpha said he would do everything he could to make sure” his voice trailed off, “We’re going to say Ranae is your mother, your aunt Mia is going to make an extra strong glamour that’ll change your eye color to match moms.” His eyes can’t shake the anxiety and I can tell he’s trying to reassure himself.

Breathing deeply “we’ll make it work dad, it’s only a few days”. His hold on me tightens, the fear evident in his presence. The three of us sit like that for a while as Leo plays on the floor with his blocks, ignorant to events that just unfolded around him.

  • Mated to the Devil, becoming the fae Luna   Ilayda

The tears wouldn’t stop flowing as my best friends held me tightly. Everyone gave us a moment. Some space just be in each other's arms. They held onto me tightly, as if I would disappear as soon as they let go. After what felt like no time but all the time in the world at the same we untangled our limbs, sitting down on one of the logs surrounding the fire. They arranged the blankets around us to keep us warm against the biting cold. “How did you get out of there Lala?” Cyn finally asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence. “I jumped out a two story window and ran. Thankfully Az was in the surrounding area and I was able to make it far enough to get to him just as Dre’s wolves caught up to me. I climbed the trees to keep myself off the ground and had Iris move my scent away from where I truly was. Unfortunately four of them caught my scent and were on my tail the entire time. Az had his scent hidden also so we didn’t recognize each other at first. I bashed him in the nose wit

  • Mated to the Devil, becoming the fae Luna   Dre/Piper

I growled in frustration as I shoved Piper off of me. Not even blinking as her head struck the coffee table, blood pouring down her temple. I looked down at her crumbled passed out form on the ground and sneered. Her bright red hair fanned around her head in a flaming halo. Weak is what she was. She would never be strong enough to be my Luna and these past few days just reminded me of that. She’d been extra clingy, and while I normally didn’t mind her sexual favors, now was certainly not the time. Plus she had been trying to insert herself further into the Luna role now that Ilayda had run off. Probably thinking that now Ilayda was gone she could take her place. It made me sick.I still didn’t understand how she got away. One minute she was looking up at me with those gorgeous green eyes, thanking me for helping her, the next she was out the window. My talisman held tightly in her small grasp. Her willingness to open up more the past few days now made sense. I was hoping it was just h

Azreal let me sleep all morning. I don’t dream of anything for the first time since I was taken. Every night I was plagued with nightmares, but tonight it was just blissful darkness. When I finally awoke hours later Scar was out of the bed sitting at his desk, going over some documents. As soon as he heard me stir he was instantly at my side, climbing back into the bed and pulling me close. “Good evening beautiful,” he murmurs, wrapping his arms around me and nuzzling into the top of my head inhaling my scent, instantly relaxing. “Are you finally ready to see everyone? It’s about dinner time and I would love it if you could try to get some more food into your belly.” I snuggle into his chest and nod. I had pushed it off long enough and now that I was rested enough I needed to go out and greet everyone. I’m sure they were scared and worried sick and it wasn’t fair of me to keep them in the dark when they knew I was only a few feet away. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to see them, I just

I couldn’t see it yet but I could tell that we were almost to the camp, I could tell by the scents of a campfire and my family. A few minutes later we come up to a clearing and my eyes widen when I peak over his shoulder. What Scar said was a small campground, looked more like a small village. At least 30 tents of various sizes and shapes littered the clearing, a giant firepit roaring in the center. Guards patrolled the borders, some in wolf form and others still in their human ones. Eyes widening in surprise when they saw me, bowing their heads to us as we passed. It was still early enough that most pack members were in their tents, but just in case, Scar shadow steps into our tent to avoid being seen. I climb off his back and take a look at the space. It was a spacious room, a small fire lit in one corner, keeping the room warm from the cold, a soft looking rug and pillows surrounding it for people to sit at giving it a more cozy feel. An air mattress covered in soft blankets in th

I watch as Goerge takes off, running as fast as his wolf form could take him. His wolf form truly wasn’t that impressive. You would think he would look more powerful with all the talking he did of himself. How highly he spoke. A medium size scrawny looking thing and it gave me that feeling that most of the members of Dre’s pack were of similar power levels. Except for the ranked members. Dre didn’t like anyone shifting, and it was starting to make sense why. My eyes land on his three dead pack members in front of me. Blood was pooling below them, leaking out of the wounds that Scar’s shadows inflicted on them. You would think I would feel just a little sorry for the fate that befel them but I felt nothing but satisfaction. No sadness or happiness, they got what they deserved. I try not to shudder at the thought of what they wanted to do to me. After they made that comment any sort of compassion I once had vanished and they needed to die. For my own safety and for those of the innocent

  • Mated to the Devil, becoming the fae Luna   Azreal

I hold her tightly against me, afraid that if I let go even for a moment she would disappear again. My mate, my Luna was back in my arms. Back in her rightful place by my side. Dade was howling happily in my head at her touch. He still couldn’t communicate with Soni, but as long as we had Ilayda it meant that we could get his mate back. I blinked back tears, knowing that now wasn’t the time to break down. I still needed to get her home safely and back surrounded by members of our pack. We weren’t out of the woods yet and while I knew I could protect her, fighting against an army was not on my to do list. I needed to keep her as safe as I could. She was shaking, and I wasn’t sure if it was from the cold or emotion but I'm sure it was both based on what she was wearing. The black shirt and legging wouldn’t do nearly enough to keep her warm against the elements. It was freezing, the ground still covered in snow. Especially because I noticed she wasn’t wearing shoes and I didn’t need t
