Ilayda

last update Last Updated: 2024-08-03 09:39:17

Taking a deep breathe I force myself to roll out of the comfort of my bed and make my way over to the bathroom. Throwing my messy hair up in a bun, careful to keep my ears covered to hide my horns as best as I can, I slip on a pair of leggings, warm socks and a hoodie and make my way downstairs. With it being early September it was getting a little chilly outside. As soon as I hit the bottom step I'm nearly knocked over by two little bodies that crash into me.

“Theo, Leo, don’t knock your sister over!” my mom shouts from the kitchen.

I looked down at them, Theo was 5 and Leo was 3 and they both had deep brown curly hair, they looked just like dad, but had moms vibrant eyes. “It’s alright mom I just wasn’t paying attention” I shout to her.

I look up and see her leaning against the doorframe to the kitchen, a smile on her face. As beautiful as ever even in an apron, straw blond hair in a messy bun and 5 months pregnant, her blue eyes looked tired but always shone. I loved this woman. Crouching down I looked at my brothers and in a silly voice said “Have you been good for mom?” They looked guilty on the ground and shook their heads. “No? Well I think it’s time for tickle punishment!” They giggled and started running away as fast as their little legs could carry them as I chased them around the living room.

I felt Soni smile in my head as she curled up, she loved these boys. I heard the front door open and the familiar scent of my father wafted into the house. He always smelled like a cup of freshly brewed earl gray tea, it was calming.

“Honey, welcome back! Are you staying for breakfast?” I heard mom shout.

“Yeah I got some time!” He holard back. My dad always went out to the forest in the early morning to hunt for herbs and roots he could use in his homeopathic remedies. As a doctor he used modern medicine but was a firm believer that the earth could heal you just as well. He came over to me and pecked me on the cheek before swooping down and grabbing his boys. “So I’ve heard you’ve been giving your mom and sister some trouble huh? I think it’s time for some food in these bellies.” My dad chides and pokes them in their tummies and takes the boys into the kitchen.

“Hey Dad?” I asked helping Theo into his seat.

“Yes pumpkin?” My dad responded as he wrestled Leo into his highchair.

“Soni really needs to get out and run around. Do you think there could be a safe time to do that?” I asked nervously. Soni’s ears perked up. Soni wasn’t a normal wolf, she was very small and sparkly, white gold like a star with glitter that shedded off her when she ran. Thankfully it didn’t leave a trail and disappeared instantly. More just like sparkles that surrounded her constantly. Her eyes were like pink diamonds and she was faster than a normal wolf and could jump longer distances almost as if she was flying. So we had to be very careful about who saw her because it was very evident she was not the average wolf.

My Dad finished with Leo and looked up at me with a sad smile. “Let me ask the Alpha Pumpkin to make sure. You know you can’t be seen.”

I bite the inside of my cheek and look down sadly and nodded in understanding.

Mom, sensing my displeasure comes around and cups my cheeks. “How about letting her out in the garden? Just for now baby, it’s hidden enough.” she said and placed a small kiss on my forehead.

I looked up at her and smiled, Soni’s tail instantly started wagging. She loved the garden, being surrounded by all of the plants always made her happy. “That would be perfect mom thank you.”

She looked at me sternly. “But don’t leave the garden.” she said. “I can’t risk anything happening to you” Her eyes held a sadness before shifting back into her usual cheery self. “Alright family let’s eat” she clapped and sat in her seat next to dads.

I helped serve Theo who sat next to me before serving myself and listened to my parent’s discuss the day, something about the alphas son taking over, which I tooned out because I already knew as the new alpha and luna were my best friends. I reached over and grabbed one of moms famous vanilla cranberry scones and took a huge bite of it nearly moaning from the flavor.

"Ila?" Soni prods. Startling me out of the food trance I was slowly falling into.

"Yes Soni?"

"Do you think our mate will love us as much as mom and dad love each other?" She muses.

I don’t know Soni, maybe one day the moon goddess will be kind enough to grant us a mate. Then we will know. I reply.

But truthfully I had no idea. I wasn't even sure if I wanted a mate. But that wasn't up to me to decide.

After breakfast I shoed mom a way to rest while dad got Theo ready to take to kindergarten. Washing dishes was calming and it was the least that I could do for mom. By the time I was done Dad had already taken Theo and Leo was playing in the living room while mom sat in her rocking chair.

Bringing her a warm cup of tea I said, “I’m going into the garden mom” and kissed her temple.

“Be careful baby” she said lovingly, “and be back soon”.

“I will, I promise” I say to her. I could practically feel Soni jumping up and down in my head with excitement. I strip off my clothes so I don’t ruin them and let the shift take over. Soni comes to the front of my mind and I let her take control. As soon as we shift she starts stretches her legs and walks around the garden.

  • Mated to the Devil, becoming the fae Luna   Ilayda

The tears wouldn’t stop flowing as my best friends held me tightly. Everyone gave us a moment. Some space just be in each other's arms. They held onto me tightly, as if I would disappear as soon as they let go. After what felt like no time but all the time in the world at the same we untangled our limbs, sitting down on one of the logs surrounding the fire. They arranged the blankets around us to keep us warm against the biting cold. “How did you get out of there Lala?” Cyn finally asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence. “I jumped out a two story window and ran. Thankfully Az was in the surrounding area and I was able to make it far enough to get to him just as Dre’s wolves caught up to me. I climbed the trees to keep myself off the ground and had Iris move my scent away from where I truly was. Unfortunately four of them caught my scent and were on my tail the entire time. Az had his scent hidden also so we didn’t recognize each other at first. I bashed him in the nose wit

  • Mated to the Devil, becoming the fae Luna   Dre/Piper

I growled in frustration as I shoved Piper off of me. Not even blinking as her head struck the coffee table, blood pouring down her temple. I looked down at her crumbled passed out form on the ground and sneered. Her bright red hair fanned around her head in a flaming halo. Weak is what she was. She would never be strong enough to be my Luna and these past few days just reminded me of that. She’d been extra clingy, and while I normally didn’t mind her sexual favors, now was certainly not the time. Plus she had been trying to insert herself further into the Luna role now that Ilayda had run off. Probably thinking that now Ilayda was gone she could take her place. It made me sick.I still didn’t understand how she got away. One minute she was looking up at me with those gorgeous green eyes, thanking me for helping her, the next she was out the window. My talisman held tightly in her small grasp. Her willingness to open up more the past few days now made sense. I was hoping it was just h

Azreal let me sleep all morning. I don’t dream of anything for the first time since I was taken. Every night I was plagued with nightmares, but tonight it was just blissful darkness. When I finally awoke hours later Scar was out of the bed sitting at his desk, going over some documents. As soon as he heard me stir he was instantly at my side, climbing back into the bed and pulling me close. “Good evening beautiful,” he murmurs, wrapping his arms around me and nuzzling into the top of my head inhaling my scent, instantly relaxing. “Are you finally ready to see everyone? It’s about dinner time and I would love it if you could try to get some more food into your belly.” I snuggle into his chest and nod. I had pushed it off long enough and now that I was rested enough I needed to go out and greet everyone. I’m sure they were scared and worried sick and it wasn’t fair of me to keep them in the dark when they knew I was only a few feet away. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to see them, I just

I couldn’t see it yet but I could tell that we were almost to the camp, I could tell by the scents of a campfire and my family. A few minutes later we come up to a clearing and my eyes widen when I peak over his shoulder. What Scar said was a small campground, looked more like a small village. At least 30 tents of various sizes and shapes littered the clearing, a giant firepit roaring in the center. Guards patrolled the borders, some in wolf form and others still in their human ones. Eyes widening in surprise when they saw me, bowing their heads to us as we passed. It was still early enough that most pack members were in their tents, but just in case, Scar shadow steps into our tent to avoid being seen. I climb off his back and take a look at the space. It was a spacious room, a small fire lit in one corner, keeping the room warm from the cold, a soft looking rug and pillows surrounding it for people to sit at giving it a more cozy feel. An air mattress covered in soft blankets in th

I watch as Goerge takes off, running as fast as his wolf form could take him. His wolf form truly wasn’t that impressive. You would think he would look more powerful with all the talking he did of himself. How highly he spoke. A medium size scrawny looking thing and it gave me that feeling that most of the members of Dre’s pack were of similar power levels. Except for the ranked members. Dre didn’t like anyone shifting, and it was starting to make sense why. My eyes land on his three dead pack members in front of me. Blood was pooling below them, leaking out of the wounds that Scar’s shadows inflicted on them. You would think I would feel just a little sorry for the fate that befel them but I felt nothing but satisfaction. No sadness or happiness, they got what they deserved. I try not to shudder at the thought of what they wanted to do to me. After they made that comment any sort of compassion I once had vanished and they needed to die. For my own safety and for those of the innocent

  • Mated to the Devil, becoming the fae Luna   Azreal

I hold her tightly against me, afraid that if I let go even for a moment she would disappear again. My mate, my Luna was back in my arms. Back in her rightful place by my side. Dade was howling happily in my head at her touch. He still couldn’t communicate with Soni, but as long as we had Ilayda it meant that we could get his mate back. I blinked back tears, knowing that now wasn’t the time to break down. I still needed to get her home safely and back surrounded by members of our pack. We weren’t out of the woods yet and while I knew I could protect her, fighting against an army was not on my to do list. I needed to keep her as safe as I could. She was shaking, and I wasn’t sure if it was from the cold or emotion but I'm sure it was both based on what she was wearing. The black shirt and legging wouldn’t do nearly enough to keep her warm against the elements. It was freezing, the ground still covered in snow. Especially because I noticed she wasn’t wearing shoes and I didn’t need t
