Katara's POV

I wondered why the older lady asked the very unnecessary question knowing that the mention of the book and what it actually works for will hurt or anger or even get the younger lady tortured. Her eyes had clouded up and her lips trembled. She looked like she would break down and weep anytime.

"Well, I see these rogues brought the book. What would you have me do to them?"

She asked insouciantly. A chair had appeared and she sat across the table that the younger lady had been sitting. My anger was rising. The temerity with which she asked what she would do to us was annoying and if not for the magic which they possessed, I knew both of them will not even be a match for me of we were to have a physical combat. I was sighing now as the Younger lady who had now been addressed as Chloe stood watching Kai and I seated on the the floor.
