49 - To Cross Paths

Katara’s POV

As I blasted those words him, he raised one eyebrow quizzically before turning around to look at the room, in an exaggerated gesture. I was angry and visibly shaking from the difficulty that came with trying to suppress my anger

"You spit so much fury, Luna of Valmore,"

He said as he took a step forward, regarding me closely, his gaze fixed on me.

"Do not evade my question. I am not stupid and I demand an answer. Why have you taken my jewelries?!"

I asked again. This time, angrier and more daring. He stood towering above me, unmoving and unwavering by my snarls and flashing eyes.

"You will speak calmly to me. I am not your subject and I will tolerate no mean words from an ordinary she wolf.”

He said the words calmly and bitingly. The words were intended to hurt me and shred whatever little pride he thought I possessed.

"I see how wildly you make efforts to belittle me. I will not have you say mean words to me before my face, now, my jewelry!"
