I looked at Isabella who bore a stricken look. The disbelief in her was the same one I faced.

This was the first time I had physically seen the person right in front of me, and as I looked at him, an open scar on his face with his hair in disarray and his eyes crazed, I knew what my answer would be.

Turning to Isabella, I conveyed all I needed to, squeezing her hand lightly. She seemed to understand as she nodded. I let her go, walking toward the man who looked more pathetic as his hopeful eyes looked up at me.

“I have no need to fight you, Darius, because there's nothing to fight with you about."

I saw his expression morph into a frown and anger light up in his eyes in response, but I wasn't done.
