CHAPTER FOUR

ELENA’S POV.

As we stood there in the silence wondering on what to do,I felt stupid for how I begged the nun back there, not that I liked the basement or something,but I didn’t like losing my insurance money,my college sponsorship and at least a roof over my head because am quite sure my whole college has already received the information by now,for the insurance money,was to be granted to me after graduation,on good discipline,all that to the curbs now.

Then a fleet of black cars following each other, eight in a row stopped in front of us,looking like an entourage for the king,or royal escort,then they stopped in front of us.

“There here,” he said.

“ who are they?” I asked in confusion.

“The people I called,come,” he signaled me, men in black tuxedoes walked out and stood around scanning the areas,with coms and I noticed one had a gun,as we walked closer to the cars,one of the men held my shoulder and stopped me.

“She is with me,let her through,” he said as the guard stared at his feet,you could see him holding his laughter,then he looked away.

“ She is human sir,” he said, as he seemed to sniff me like a dog,weird what a stupid comment,I though,of course I was human, duh ,so was he.

“ yes, she is,” he grabbed my hand ,turned

“After you madam,” he chuckled with a slight bow, we got in and we drove, the whole ride was quiet,I wondered where we were going but ever since he pulled me into a hug earlier on,,I felt safe for the first time since my parents passing in his arms. He asked.

“Are you hungry?” I nodded because it was already mid day and I hadn’t had anything.

“Stop at any nearby restaurant and get her anything she wants,” he ordered, and the dude who was driving the car told the rest on the coms,soon we stopped somewhere.

“ what do you want to eat,miss?” The driver asked

“ fries and a steak are fine,oh and a cup of coffee,” I said,finally, I was already salivating, I was very hungry.

“What about you sir,” he asked,

“ same as hers,” he replied ,they stared,the guard and the driver,like something was wrong. They just went.

I was already feeling curious about the whole situation,so I asked

“Are you in the government or something?”

“Umm, no am not,why?” He asked seemingly unbothered. I stared at him and I don’t know why he couldn’t read the air.

“I mean the cars,security and everything,” he just shrugged and said

“Am an alpha for the werewolves,that’s why the cars and security,” he said without flinching.

Werewolves, he must be kidding,the folktales.

For some reason,it felt funny, his sense of humor was top notch,I couldn’t help it but laugh,oops I snorted, and he laughed too,

“Uhh you’re so funny,werewolves,uhhhh I love you’re sense of humor,” I said while chuckling,the guards driver brought the food,we resumed our journey , I munched down everything quickly that I almost choked on the food,he noticed,I felt ashamed meanwhile he hadn’t touched anything on his plate. I could see pity in his eyes .

“ what?” I grumbled with a mouthful of fries.

“ can I give you my food,” he asked, I shyly nodded, then the cars entered a mist and when we got out of the mist,we were in another city,I can say the drive was pretty long, as it were already getting dark. We drove until we came to a big estate , the gates opened, it looked like a palace but in a modern style, a few people had gathered in front of the house,the cars halted to a stop.

“We are here,” he said his eyes beaming with excitement. The guards opened the door and we walked out, a tall,beautiful girl came running and hugged him tightly,he was also excited to see her,I felt my heart twist into anger,was that jealousy, her jet black hair,long,flowing to her shoulders, her eyes dark like night but her stature young, she then looked at his feet and calmly turned to him

“ Am so glad your okay,I missed you,” she said while squeezing him tighter.

“ I missed you more,” he said while passing his arms around her. She then turned to me, stared at me,sniffed and hissed, why is everyone around him so hostile,I thought

“Human,” she whispered

“ Yes ,”

“This is Daisy,,my younger sister,this is Elena,the person that saved my life,we are going to give her a home because I ruined her home , I owe her my life,” he said gently to his sister,turned,looked at me and smiled,I felt a burden removed on my shoulders.

“ You know you are violating the rules,no human allowed in our realm Alpha ,the law clearly states,” an old lady with two eye colors ,holding a cane , dressed in long black robes,her gray hair cascaded on her shoulders chipped in.

“But am still your Alpha,Elda, the laws were made by my grandfathers ,so I shall mend some of these laws,” he cut her off,his voice firm and steady while we were being escorted inside

“Alpha,your job is to protect the pack,not put it harm’s way,don’t say I didn’t warn you,” she trembled,her hands barely able to hold her cane as she struggled to keep up with the alpha,then it suddenly hit me,pack,Alpha, wolves, is it that he told me the truth? I thought, I knew too well about werewolves tales,no offense but am a werewolf tale lover , I read all about it on novel hub,wait,am I living the folk tales or dreaming,I quietly pinched myself and ….no,it wasn’t a dream,I was living it

but I was scared,what if he ate me up,had I been lured here to be a prey, I was afraid yet filled with hope
