Chapter twenty

Kennedy

I woke up on the entertainment room, still in my leopard form and Kelly had left. The smell of breakfast tells me that's probably where she went. I realize I'm alone and walk out of the room with my head low. Someone tries to scratch my ear and I let out a warning growl.

The hand pulls away and I see it was one of Skylar's leopards I've recently gotten close with, Bethany. She goes to walk away but I nudge her side. She notices the sad look in my eyes and scratches under my chin. I step closer, accepting her comfort. "I was on my way back to cuddle with you so you didn't wake up alone," she says in a soothing whisper and I let out a calming breath. "Would you like company?"

I motion for her to follow me and we go outside. I close my eyes and take a breath of fresh air. I take her to my comfort spot and she looks around, amazed at the beautiful waterfall splashing into a small pond. I take a drink from the crystal blue water.



"I see why you come here, it's relaxing," she say
