Chapter Seven

Olivia's POV

The next morning.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm and I angrily punched the button to turn it off.

I sat on the bed and itched my eyes trying to get some sleep.

I left my bed and went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Then, I continued to the dining to check if breakfast was ready. I mean I was famished.

As I claimed downstairs and approached the dining room, I noticed someone was already seated there.

Huh? Dad?

I furrowed my eyebrows in amazement as I walked closer. What's he doing here at this hour I can't recall the last time I woke up and found him still at home.

" Dad... Good morning." I greeted still processing the whole scenario.

" Oh! Olivia. You ate just in time to join me for breakfast. Come on, have a seat." He said and I scoffed and took a seat right opposite his.

He was already dressed up and it was obvious he'd be leaving at any moment.

He had on a nice pleated gray suit and a black striped tie. He looked so young and handsome in them.

Well, my dad found his mate my mom when they were just sixteen. At eighteen my mom was already pregnant with me and she had me barely nineteen years old.

My dad was still pretty young for his age, you'd think I'm his younger sister because of how young and ageless he was. I know the ladies wouldn't think twice to go out with him but he rather chose to lead a simple and evasive life. I know he still missed my mom and hopes she'd come back.

" by the way, Olivia." He said breaking the brief silence.

" I want you to get ready in time cause we will be attending Alpha Kurt's homecoming dinner tonight."

I almost spilled juice from my mouth as her words hit me.

What?

" Alpha Kurt's homecoming dinner?" I shrieked.

" You mean we will be going to the Corbin's Villa?" I asked in disbelief and he nodded.

What?

" Why?" I asked back.

" And what do you mean why? While everyone wished to be there. Shouldn't you feel lucky to be amongst the privileged?" 

" Anyway the supreme Alpha sent me an invite, so I have to attend. And you are coming with me," he replied and took a sip of his black coffee.

" But dad..."

" What is wrong with you Olivia? Why do you want to this little request?" Did he ask with a stern look? I sighed and looked down at my food.

But I'm supposed to see Jaden today.

Immediately his phone started ringing and he mute it after checking the caller.

" I will be home to pick you up by six. Don't keep me waiting." He said callously and stood up, the maid handed him his briefcase.

" I'm off to a meeting." He added and started while I just played pathetically with my food.

Why the sudden interest in me attending Alpha Kurt's family dinner? He never took me anywhere since my eighteenth birthday, so why now?

How am I supposed to confront Jaden over what had happened between us yesterday?

After having breakfast, I took my bath and got ready for school.

Instill couldn't stop thinking about the whole thing.

On my way to class, I was interrupted by two boys. They stood in front of me, smiling like cats.

" Hey! Olivia" one of them called and bite his lower lip.

I huffed and tried away but the second one held me back.

" Hey... Chill okay? Umm, Hudson just wants us to deliver this note to you. He said and proffered a price of paper he was holding.

Fuck! I should have known

" Well, tell him to go fuck himself," I said and started walking to class but turned and looked at them.

" And one last piece of advice, I think its best if you stopped being errand boys " I added and continued on my way.

Hudson was the son of one of the alphas Kurt Cobain conquered their clan and brought them together with ours. Even though we are one city but the clans still existed and are ruled by different Alphas, during any disputes each alpha provides the city with their best warriors and they all join hands to fight their enemies. Hudson was from the Riverside clan and the alpha in line to succeed his father, but he was no good as he formed a gang and chased after girls, he was dubbed the 'bad-boy' of Great lake high. And now he has always been trying to get me on his side, but I guess his lunacy wouldn't let him see that I can never agree with someone like him.

I walked into the class and met Paige there already. She was always at school before me.

" Hey! Vee." She waved at me as I got to where she was.

The white fur Musketeers we're nowhere to be found, excellent.

 " Hi!"  I said blearily as I sat on my seat.

The class was kinda noisy, everyone was talking about the party last night.

" Hey! Are you okay? You look somber" Paige asked with a grouch.

" Well... It's my dad. He's such a dad." I replied.

She chuckled." Hmm, what happened this time?" 

"He wants me to go with him to alpha Kurt's homecoming family dinner. " I replied and she screamed.

What! Why?

" Paige!" I called in shock as all eyes darted in our direction.

Why the hell did she scream like that?

" What is wrong with you?" I growled and she giggled.

" Oh, my dear friend. I am just so excited for you. I mean are you kidding me? You are going to a family dinner at the Corbin's Villa?" She asked and I looked around what a relief, the rest of the students had their eyes away from us.

" well, yeah. Dad said he was invited by the supreme Alpha." I replied and she almost screamed again but covered her mouth with her palm.

" OMG! Olivia, you are so lucky. But, wait for a second, why is the expression on your face the opposite of what it should be?" She asked with her brows furrowed.

" Well, I was supposed to meet up with Jaden for something really important today." 

" What? Fuck Jaden, Vee. " she cut me off.

" Are you fucking kidding me? Did you upset about going to Corbin's manor because of Jaden? Do you even know how lucky you are? I've called up all my kin in town to find out of any of them was invited to the dinner party, but unfortunately none."

" Don't you know by attending this dinner party you have seventy percent odds of getting to see Alpha Kurt face to face? You might even end up talking to him. Oh my Gosh! I seriously wish there was a way we could swap bodies right now, Olivia. I wish my father was also invited." She said wistfully while I just stared at her in disbelief.

Wow!

I shook my head and didn't say a word.

" wow! Chad is in school today" she said after a brief silence and I lifted my eyes to see the 'wiseacre' Stan entering the class.

Oh!

He was the most intelligent werewolf in our class and was given was dubbed the smartest in the whole of Great lake high. He won various honors during science cons hosted by our city every year.

Chad lost his parents in an accident when he was still a baby and was raised by his uncle. Mr. Grande who happened to be the principal of our school.

Chad barely talks and has no friends, people think he is a snub.

Anyway.

" Seriously Olivia, you are so lucky to be attending Alpha Kurt's dinner party " Paige continued and I itched my ears.

" I wonder what Cobain's mansion looks like. I've only seen it on the Internet, but I'm sure it must be way glamorous in reality.."

She went on talking and not long after, the crazy ladies walked in.

Yeah, the White Fur Musketeers.

I thought the Musketeers were supposed to be three and smart. These are ignorant and loud.

" Hey, handsome. Nora waved at Chad as they walked past him, but he didn't even raise his head to notice her.

Gina and Phoebe chuckled and Royalty rolled her eyes.

They got to their seats which were in front of ours and Royalty smirked at me before they all sat down.

Irritating creatures.

Royalty brought out her phone and surprisingly, the projector in front of the class was turned on and it started displaying pictures of her and Alpha Kurt together.

Not like they were together, but the pictures were photoshopped and seemed so real like they had taken the pictures together.

Hmmm, how was she able to pair her phone to the projector?

All the students in the class gasped as they watched the picture slides on the projector.

This girl's losing it.

Then, Royalty stood up in front of the whole class.

" What do you think guys? Aren't we just a perfect couple?" She asked, grinning widely.

"It's dumb!" Someone from the back said and I couldn't help but burst into silent laughter.

Royalty's face turned vermilion and Nora stood up.

" seriously? If it's dumb then you are a dumb ass." She muttered and some of the students chuckled.

Immediately, the projector went off and we all stared in awe and discovered it was done by Chad who had made use of his phone.

" Hey! Why did you do that? Royalty grouse but he just focused on the book he was reading.

I think the only time I heard that guy speak is when answering a question in class.

Few of the students started sniggering, and Royalty and Nora had to return to their seats quietly.

Hmm, serves them right.

" Wow! What an attitude " Paige whispered to me and I shrugged.

The rest of the day at school was nothing different. I got home and gave Jaden a call snd told him to postpone our discussion.

" Still can't believe I'm going to the Cobain Mansion. What will even wear?" 

I riffled through my closet for a while and finally settled on a black dinner gown and silver sandals.

Perfect.

I throw them on and applied a simple makeover.

Dad said not to keep him waiting once he returns, so I had to get ready in time.

After a while, dad returned and we left for the party together.
