Chapter Six

Fuck it!

I let it ring till it stopped the first time but it started ringing again. I decided to move a few steps away from the clatter and take the call in a less noisy place.

" Hello!" I yelled still can't hear myself yelling.

" Hello! Olivia? Is that you?" He asked and it was obvious sounded relieved.

I just rolled my eyes and didn't say a word.

" Olivia please, I beg of you. Can you listen to me this one time, I'm deeply sorry for what happened between us, today... I didn't know what came over me, I got carried away..."

" Seriously Jaden?" I cut in and sneered.

" Listen, I'm gonna be really honest with you. I never expected such an act from you. I mean, I get it, we are dating but forcing yourself on me was outrageous." I explained and I heard him sigh.

" Olivia please, forgive me. I promise never to do it again. I swear in my life that it will never happen again. Please just give me a chance, I promise to make it up to you. We can get married if you want, anything to make up for what I did."

I was so engrossed with the call that I never realized they were cars honking at me.

"Olivia!" I heard Paige's voice call out to me.

" Hey! Get off the road." I heard people screaming and it snapped me back to reality. That was when I realized that I had been standing in the way of the cars that had been honking at me from behind to move away from the parkway.

" Oh, Fuck!"

I quickly brought the phone down from my ear and jumped aside giving way to the line of caravans of cars.

They seemed cool.

The first car was a tinted window SUV and one of the men in the car kept glaring at me while they moved slowly and since I stood at a close range, I could see them.

Two cars drove past me with their windows shot but the fourth one had its window slightly open and It was Alpha Kurt sitting in it, with his girlfriend.

" Alpha Kurt!" Some of the ladies screamed when they noticed he was in the car.

He started at me through the window as the car slowly drive past me and I froze at that moment. I was looking at him at such a close range and boy! Is he cute?

He kept staring at me until they passed where I was and then the first car which happened to be the last vehicle was Beta Luca.

" Are you okay, miss?" He rolled down his window and asked me.

" Yes, thank you." I nodded and he smiled and drove out.

"Olivia!" She called and ran up to me immediately.

" are you okay? Did you get hurt?" She asked scanning my entire body.

" I'm alright," I replied and tucked my hair behind my ears, trying to get over what just happened.

" Was Alpha Kurt the one in that car, earlier?" She asked and I nodded.

" Oh my gosh! Do you mean you saw him at a close range? Gosh! You are so lucky Olivia. Please tell me, what did he look like?" She asked dreamily and I sneered.

" I don't get it. Didn't you just see him on the dias not long ago?" I asked.

" Yeah, but..."

I didn't key her finish her sentence and I started walking away while she came scuttling behind me.

We got to where I presumed I must have had my car was parked, and luckily it was there. Paige and I Jumped into the car and drove home.

Immediately, my phone started beeping again. Jaden.

I had forgotten I had been on a call with him. I sighed and picked up.

" Jaden, I'm quite busy right now, okay? I'll give you a call when I get home." I dropped the call, not waiting for his reply.

" Ouch! Isn't that our Anonymous boyfriend?" Paige asked in a teasing manner and I gawked at her and she laughed.

" Sorry, but why don't you want to talk to him?" She asked but I didn't say a word.

" By the way, why did he ask you to come over today?" She threw another question at me.

" Well, we were talking about none ya."

" What's none ya?"

" None of your business," I replied with an eye roll.

I couldn't bring myself to tell her what had happened at Jaden's place, she might end up despising him the more.

Knowing she wouldn't get me to talk, she changed the subject and began talking about other minor things which didn't interest me.

Somehow, as I looked through the window I recalled the moment. I had seen Alpha Kurt at such a close expanse. It felt more like magic to me, it was beautiful when he stared at me with those dazzling eyes of his. Now I understand why the ladies go crazy about him all the time. He looked like a god.

I snapped out of my thoughts when Paige tapped me. What am I even doing?

" Hey! Have you been listening to me?" She asked and I just scratched my head.

What was she saying?

She resumed her chatting and in a little while, we arrived at the driveway of her house.

" Thanks, Vee. I will be you on Monday, good night." She said and gave me a quick hug before opening the car door and leaving.

" Good night" replied and she alighted from the car.

I wanted at her through the window before starting my engine and zooming out.

I drove into the night, it was already eleven-thirty, that's thirty minutes to midnight, as I was driving past Joe's Inn, I realized that I hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast, so I slowed down and pulled into the driveway. I placed an order of a double cheeseburger and fries, with an ice tea, and the waitress brought it to my car. quickly I packed around the corner and devoured the burger and drank my ice tea before I started on my back home, still munching on the fried while I drove.

Gosh! I was so hungry. Like I was just realizing that.

I was about to take a left turn to the parkway when I noticed something that caught my attention, a fun claw machine, and Some man with his daughter playing with it.

Chapter Nine

Olivia's POV

I pulled over and walked towards them, I got there and stood by the corner while I watched hen play with it, trying to grab a stuffed animal. The man was holding his daughter's hand and helping her hitch a teddy bear and I just watched in awe. It reminded me so much of how much fun I used to have with my father when I was little, I remember him taking me out too late at night once he returned from work, no matter how exhausted he was he'd train with me, teach me how to fight and afterward we would go out grab some ice cream and play at the fun claw machine. He would keep trying and trying but at the end of the day, he couldn't snag even one stuffed animal for me. I would laugh at his attempts and grumble sometimes, even though I knew how to snag the stuffed animals, I always love to watch him try and get one for me.

I watched them for a little while more and sighed, deciding to head back to my car.

Just when I was about to leave, two frumpish-looking guys walked up to me.

" Hey, miss." One called with a trifling smile.

The other boy smiled while scanning me from he's to toe. What the heck?

" Umm, hi!" I said perfunctorily and tried walking away, but they stood in my way.

What the...

" Sorry gorgeous, but our boss over there would like to have a word with you," the first guy said and looked in a particular direction I traced it and saw some guys under a shed.

They were four in number but just one was sitting and smoking was the boss.

Seriously? That guy is way too young to smoke.

I scoffed and shook my head.

" Sorry, not interested," I said bluntly and tried walking away, but they held my hand and pulled me back.

This time around it was the one that hadn't said a word to me.

" Sorry hottie. We can't let you go like this." He said with a smirk and my heart leaped.

I huffed and looked at him.

" what are you talking about? Let me go!" I said and tried withdrawing my hand from his, but couldn't.

Surprisingly, they started dragging me away and I couldn't stop them.

" Let me go!" I shrieked as they both held my hand and forcibly took me to their so-called boss.

They stopped when we got there.

" What's  the meaning of this?" I asked in a peeved manner as I stood in front of the rogue who was still puffing his cigarette.

He chuckled and brought the cigarette down from his lips.

" what's your name?"  He asked after a pause and I scoffed.

" that's none of your business, you tell you boys let me go this instant," I replied angrily even though my wolf was freaking out.

I mean, they appeared dangerous.

Great lake city is said to be the most peaceful werewolf city in the country but even with the good name the city still had Rogues sneaking in once in a while, especially during late hours. They roam around the city giving it a bad rep, well, until they are caught and thrown out of the city for good by the werewolf vigilance committee.

" I like you and I want you." He finally muttered with a leer and my fears increased, but I tried not to show it.

" well, I don't like you and I don't want you. So why don't you let me go and we pretend like this never happened? How about that?" I announced rather pleasingly and he smiled and leaned back on his chair.

" Girl, you tryna prove hard to get huh?" He asked with a smirk, and next, he stood up.

Oh, God!

Immediately, the Vigilance committee drove in, not in our direction but to a plaza opposite.

Thank goodness.

I turned and glanced at the so-called boss and noticed he also looked diffident.

Without hesitating, I got out of there and started speed walking. I was certain they couldn't follow me because of the vigilance committee's presence.

I ran quickly as I could back to the car and immediately I got in, I started it and scorched off.

Gosh! What an alarming situation.

I don't know what to do about my body anymore, it's always getting me into a mess.

What would have happened if the Vigilance Committee hadn't shown up?

I looked at my side and noticed I still have some fries left. I almost forgot. Still feeling kinda hungry, I leaned forward and grab some and continued munching on them.

I finally got home and alighted from the car, feeling quite up the spout.

I couldn't wait to go into my room and get some snooze.

I opened the entrance door and walked into the living room and surprisingly, I found my dad sitting on the sofa.

I paused at the door and stared at him feeling frightened to see find him there.

He was sitting with his leg crossed, going through some papers while sipping a glass of wine.

" And where are you coming from?" He asked without rating his head or looking at me.

His eyes were still fixed on the papers he was going through.

" I went to Alpha Kurt's welcome party with Paige." I shrugged and replied.

" And you are returning at this hour? Do you know what the time says? Don't you know it's dangerous wandering alone by this hour of the night for a girl like you?" He asked now glaring at me.

Here we are again

I know where he was hinting at, everything regarding my well-being and safety always had to do with me being an omega.

" well, I had no idea you wouldn't be sleeping at the office today. I'm not a witch!" I replied.

" Don't you dare talk to me in that manner young lady! I don't expect you to be a witch to understand the right thing to do."

" Seriously dad, you are not being fair to me. You have no idea what it feels like to stay alone at home, having no one to talk to just so I wouldn't expose myself. Sometimes I  forget what it feels like being in the company of others and getting treated for who I am and not what I am, that's why when I see the opportunity to feel that way again, I make use of it." I replied rather angrily.

Then he sighed and stood up from the sofa with a glass of wine in his hand.

" Olivia" he called softly and used his free hand to brush his hair backward.

" I understand how you must be feeling but I hope you know that everything I'm doing is for your good. To protect you from being exposed for what you are, they will eat you up if they find out what you are. You don't have to worry soon neither of us will worry about the future anymore because your fate is about to change my daughter, and I promise it will put an everlasting smile on your face."

I stared at him in awe, wondering what he meant and he smiled.

" Go to your room and get some rest now. It's late." He said and walked away, leaving behind the papers on the sofa.

I stood there and thought for a while, trying to figure out what he was talking about.

My phone vibrated in my hand, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I checked and discovered it was Jaden.

" Hello?" I said on the phone as I proceeded upstairs.

" Olivia, can you hear me?" He asked.

" Yeah." I opened the door to my room and walked in, sitting on the bed.

" Olivia please, we need to talk. I'm so sorry for what I did. Please give me a chance to make it up to you." He pleaded over the phone.

" I'm tired Jaden, and I don't feel like talking about this now."

" Okay, cool. Why don't we fix a date tomorrow, huh? Please let's meet up and talk."

I remained silent.

" Olivia?" He called.

" Fine. I will let you know when I'm free. Goodnight." I announced and dropped the call immediately.

I took off my sneakers and laid straight on the bed, feeling quite exhausted to even change into my nightwear.
