Collin.
For a hundred years I've lived with the same memory of the same event. When I close my eyes, it's the same set of eyes. When I open to listening, it's the same high-pitched voice I hear.
Moving to places whenever people started to catch on about our secrets was a thing that I always hated. But here in Fox, things suddenly seem so different. It's hard to ignore the voice inside my head that keeps whispering to me, telling me that our run is over, telling me that there's much more to find and love here, telling me my answers are all here. New Orleans had been a special place to be at and I'd stayed there for over many years before leaving for Tokyo.
Being a werewolf, we always had to be on the low, hiding from our shadows, hiding from the events of the past that haunted us, hiding from mistakes that is a constant reminder that being a werewolf isn't a blessing, it's a curse. During your long lifeline, where always and forever is inevitable to you, you realize that's just punishment, God's way of punishing you for your past sins. In the end, living was just a curse that we'd have to carry on ..... Until we died.
Settling into the house wasn't as exciting as Seth made it seem. He was always happy with his travels. I was never. We'd only stayed in Tokyo for five years. And we had to leave eventually. Stay on the low, that's what Charlie always said. We couldn't afford to be known, this was a different age. Gone were the days when werewolves lived freely.
For countless of years, I've encountered different people, mingled with many but when I saw that woman at the quarter, something different occurred to me, something I knew not of its existence, something strange and almost hard to ignore. I felt my heart beat uncomfortably when she looked at me, when she did that thing with her lips; when she smiled at me.
Her face held the spitting image of someone. Someone I'd seen in the past. Someone I'd loved but the memory is foggy and it's hard to place my thoughts in order.
I felt my heart tuck as the guy she was with withheld her, I felt the strange urge to rip his hands apart and off her. I've never felt so disturbed about any woman before.
I shot my eyes, pulling my shirt off.
"Collin!" I turned back to the door to see Seth. "What are you doing here all by yourself? Don't tell me, yours busy cos..... Rodger and I wanna hit the valley at the back. Wanna come?"
"You were gonna go swimming without me?"
"Good thing Rodger said to come get you. You know I'd have left your sorry ass here"
I threw my shirt at him but he caught it before it even reached him.
"Wolf speed" he smirked proudly.
I started to pull off my jeans.
"Hey what were you doing in town earlier?" Seth continued "we just got here and you're already going to the city? Looking for women?"
"Shut up"I walked towards him now in my shorts.
"Okay I really need some hooking up too" the tease in his voice was loud and clear. Everything was always a joke to him.
"Just shut up already" I shot at him.
By the time we got out onto the porch, Rodger was already waiting at the door, strangling me with his big arms around my neck as soon as I stepped out. He starts to laugh really hard, Wayne who's standing on the lawn laughing at the short play.
"Isn't Annette coming with us anymore?" Seth asked Wayne as he passed by Rodger and I, taking the steps that lead to the lawn ground.
"Nah," Wayne replied "she's not up for a swim anymore"
"Is she alright?" I asked as I finally cut myself free from Rodger's arms.
"Yeah," Wayne replied "she wants to do the dishes with Mom"
"Race me to the waterfall?" Seth barely finished saying before he super-sped through the back of the house, towards the waterfall.
Rodger shook his head as he fell beside me and said "that idiot always cheats with every little chance he got"
"Well I'm not about to lose to any of you," Wayne said before super speeding towards the waterfall too.
Rodger and I exchanged looks before super running towards the waterfall too, covering the long distance in three seconds. By the time we got to the deep waterfall, Wayne was already on his shorts, Seth already diving into the water below.
"See you down there mate, " Wayne said to me before falling face up into the water.
Before I knew it, Rodger was diving in too. I took off my shirt and laid it back before diving into the water. I felt the water body lift me, drench me till I felt myself go numb and totally unaware of anything else. I remained at the bottom, the peace and quiet paralyzing me. I tried to shut everything out. Everything that happened today. I began to search deep and far into my mind till I came across something. A face. The face of the young woman from earlier. Her bright oval eyes, the life in them, the smile on her lips, the tenderness in her voice, the unsureness in her words.
That strange yet satisfying smile.........
I peeled my eyes open and went back to the water surface, the thought of that woman still lingering on my mind.
Alessia.
Just merely imagining her face woke up the smoldering fires in me.
"You're thinking about a woman right?" Rodger asks the moment I popped out beside him on the surface.
"Why would you say that?" I asked pretentiously.
He shrugged, facing forward "I mean you've got the looks. Not to mention other things. Why were you in town?"
"I was getting tired of just sitting around. So I took a walk"
"Just be careful okay? Fox is a really nice town," he looks back at me "reminds me of New Orleans. You know what I'm talking about don't you?"
I nodded, trying to remember some things that had happened In the past.
"We should hit the town some other time," Rodger continued "might wanna catch some fun before we get made again"
"Yeah, it's really annoying. Having to move all the time"
"Yeah" he replied, tight-lipped.
Author's POVThe room appeared tensed due to the awkward silence, none of them could bring themselves to speak. Charlie exhaled loudly, finally finding it in him to make a sound. He had received a call from Brenda asking him to come with Ester to the house. However, they had arrived and met about three unfamiliar people. Charlie couldn't tell if they were werewolves or humans. They could be any of the two, he would argue more human because there was no traces of the wolf scent in them. Only if they had mask it well enough. Neither Brenda or Damien had come down to attend to them yet and it was making Charlie feel impatient. Ester noticed her husband discomfort, she placed a hand on his knee to help him relax. "What's wrong?" She inquired. He gulped, "I don't know. I don't feel too good about coming here, what do you think is going on? It's too unnaturally quiet in here." "Just relax. It's not like there is anything to be worried about when it comes to Tephanie's parents. We have
Author's POVCarla hissed loudly into the receiver, she hated it when Brian tries his hardest to give her an excuse. She had heard Ryan talking about Tom found dead and she wanted to know of everything that the frat had discussed. But Brian wasn't divulging any information. "You wouldn't like what I would do to you Brian if I find out you have been fooling me. I hate being toyed with and you know. I guess there is no need for me to try explaining myself to you. What happened during your meeting?" Brian exhaled loudly on the other line, "don't talk to me like I am one of your son's friend or someone you feed. I am none of the two, so when I tell you what actually is the situation of things you learn to take it as it is. He is suspecting me already and you know how brutal he can be." "Brian, don't mess with me. Try your best to find out whatever it is Ryan might be planning. And I need every information tonight itself. Also, don't forget to let me know when the next heist would be ca
Author's POVRyan's eyes almost jutted out their sockets when he saw Tom lifeless on the floor. He had thought it was a joke when he had gotten a call from the frat to inform him of Tom's death. It seem so surreal. "You did this to cover for you and your family right?" Brian was the first to flare up, his usual way of acting. Jordan cut him a glare, "don't say something you might regret Brian. Ryan how did this happen?"Staring in disbelief, Ryan chuckled. "You all must really think I am this stupid. Why would I do this? It's obvious there is someone among us who is doing all of this and trying to pin it on me. And I can tell who is trying to mess around with me." Brian's heart thumped at that, he feared Ryan might have found out about his constant meeting with his wife. His palm became sweaty when Ryan's eyes lingered on him. "Don't give me that look." He muttered hurriedly. "Why? Are you the one making things up?" Ryan retorted. "Does one make death up?" Brian threw back at him
Collin's POVI could sense the discomfort in Patrick's voice, something was wrong and he wasn't doing much of a good job in hiding it. We were all seated at the school cafeteria for lunch, everyone chatting away. Ariel didn't seen to notice him because of the juicy gossip she was having with the rest of the girls. I noticed our table isn't exactly complete, Allen and Ashley aren't with us. My head seem to be completely filled with different thoughts, and I can't deny that I don't feel like having any form of long discussion. Alessia understood this and gave me my space, it was much more enjoyable watching her have fun and not necessarily involving my take. I felt a sudden tap on my shoulder, glancing at the direction of the touch. Patrick motioned with his head for me to come with him. I kissed Alessia hurriedly on the cheek, before going with him. "I see I am not the only one in a deep thought." He chuckled as we walked towards the schools football pitch. I shrugged, "sometimes t
Author's POVCarla loved her disguise, the use of the hooded red dress she had bought unintentionally years ago finally came in handy when she needed it the most. Coupled with the round glasses and heavy red lipstick on her lips, she could be mistaken for someone else. It's quite a hard task outsmarting someone who is watching ones every move. But she wouldn't let that deter her, she had reserved a sit in the most busiest restaurant in fox city. And the location seem perfect because; none of those who have the high probability of recognizing her would never be found in such place. When she got to the private booth she had on reserve, Brian was already seated with his head down sipping on his drink like a just released convict. He blinked rapidly when he saw her. "Welcome, Carla." He stuttered. She rolled her eyes, sitting down with a huff. "I need you to give me a full update to whatever the message you sent me was about."On her way back to the house she had received a text from B
Author's POVRyan watched in anger as the few members of the frat stood in the hallway of his home supervising the installation of cameras and recorders in the rooms. They had chosen to come at the exact time Carla and Patrick had left the house. Almost like they were spying on the family's move. When the men hired for the job left everyone of them had an access to the installments to ensure whoever hears or sees anything suspicious will let the others know. Jordan was the first to speak. "Everything is all set now Ryan. It's up to you to do exactly as you are told now without doing otherwise. If something is to change we have to take the bull by it's horns." He saidBrian snickered, "there is no need to trust him with it, we would have to stay behind to be sure he does what is expected of him."Ryan clenched and unclenched his fist, he would really have to rethink that thing called selfcontrol and punch the guts out of Brian. "You won't come around to disrupt my home and still exp
