Author’s POV:

“If anything happens, call me directly, okay?” Mom made me promise her, looking all scared for me. I could tell I have put her in a really tough spot by asking for this party. She looked concerned for me.

“Don’t worry, I will be fine,” I hugged her and rushed out of the house in a black shirt and white top. I had stolen the keys for the cabin. I was feeling bad for lying to my mom, but I prayed I didn’t regret it.

After picking up my friends, the party had started. The loud music as the bus made its way into the dark, abandoned road to our cabin was just a whole mood.

I don’t remember how much we drank, but we were at a full swing. The loud music and all the screaming had deafened us and then Paul made us stop the bus.

“What is going on, Paul? Why are we stopping here?” I asked him, looking around the dark woods.

“We have to pick Markeel from here,” he said, announcing it to us after it was too late. Everybody’s mood changed instantly.
