3.Trouble In Finding A Groom

Isabella Lightwood,

I was standing in my conference room looking at the city through the glass window.

There were many thoughts on my mind, I haven't met my mom in months, I don't even know what's going on in her life, she must have been feeling lonely, there's no one with whom she can share her thoughts with. I did get her a big mansion but she's lonely in that majestic mansion, maybe I should start living with her.

I haven't even met my brother from a long time, the last time I met him was on his birthday, four months ago. He's coming today so I'm gonna meet him, maybe me and my brother both should live with mom, she would feel good. I know she has buried herself in work because she doesn't want her mind to be empty. She says"Empty minds are home to devil " which means if she doesn't work she might go into depression, but working so much is not good for health. I should start living with her.

This is the reason why Jenna's mom is ill, she had a overdose of ptsd pills. I'm worried for my mom.

I heard the door being opens and Jenna walked in."Ma'am the members of the council are here, should I get them here?"

"Yes" I replied flatly.

Then all the members of the medical council came in.

"God morning everyone, let's start the meeting, shall we?"

Then for about an hour we talked about the medicines which are needs to be imported from other countries, and medicines getting exported from our country and the capital needed, the profits we will be getting.

At the end of the meeting, Mr.Shwang, the head of the council spoke up

"Well there's something I want to tell all of you, I'm resigning from my position because I want spend my time with my family now, so I 'll be handing over the council to Ms.Isabelle Lightwood, I 'm hoping no one has a problem with it, because from my point of view, she has the potential as well as capability"

Yeah I knew about it he told me this once when I went on a lunch with him, he's a father figure for me, I met him in my medical college when he came for a seminar, from then on,he have always guided me.

"I'm sure no one would have any problem with my decision, we all know she's the best neurosurgeon in the country and she care about the welfare of her patients and this medical council, she is the one whom I find most suitable from all" he continued when no one raised any opposision, surprisingly.

Everyone agreed to it and were congratulating me except one idiot who had to open his filthy mouth, the one and only, Mr.James Smith who wanted to date me since college, but I ignored him all the time and then he always finds a way to irritate me.

"Mr.Shwang I don't have any problem with your decision but doesn't the head have to be married, so that we can trust that she is mature enough to handle the council?"

Yes, I know a ridiculous rule, which I just remembered.

I mean what makes them think that being married, you're mature enough.

Like what the hell, who the hell made this senseless rule.

And how could I forget about this stupid rule??

"Well I do have a boyfriend and we are thinking of getting married soon."

"Very well then we hope you get married before you get the position as head, we wouldn't want the trust to throw you out of your position, now would we?" he smirked.

"Yeah Mr. Smith, you don't have to worry for me, I can very well take care of my self." I replied with a sweet smile.

"The meeting is dismissed now, all can leave" Mr.Shwang said.

"Yeah thank you everyone for coming, have a great day."I

said.

Everyone left one by one then Mr.Shwang turned to me "May I know who is my wonderful daughter dating?"

Yeah he always looked after me as my daughter as he never had one, he has a son of about my age,his son had a crush on me but I see him as my brother so I told him, to not even think about it.

When he told me he liked me for the first time, I told him,

"I'm like a daughter to your dad which makes me your sister so we can't date." From then on he has been respectful enough to not try and flirt with me, which I appreciate a lot.

"Umm...I've been dating him for a while, we kept our relationship low key."

"Hmm..I want to meet him, soon okay?"

"Yes papa I promise."

"Good then I gotta go take care." he said giving me a kiss on my forehead while hugging me.

"Hmm..you too take care of yourself and Mama and tell her I said hi."

"I' will, why don't you come for a dinner this Sunday, bring your boyfriend too and also your mom and brother."

"I would love too, but I can't promise you if I can bring him, he might be busy."

"Busy on Sunday?"he asked.

"Yeah he's quite workaholic."

"But family comes before work, I don't want to hear any excuses I want to meet him this Sunday, am I clear?"

"Yeah crystal clear"

"Good, byee sweetheart."

"Bye papa"

And then he left.

OH GOD WHAT DID I GET MYSELF INTO??? BOYFRIEND? WHEN?? WHERE?? HOW?? WHAT AM I GONNA TELL HIM NOW!!??

I've never had one since last two years since my ex boyfriend Kyle left me without any word.

GOD I'M SCREWED!!!!

I see my clock it's 12:15, I had a meeting with Mr.Mikaelson, practically its Kath's meeting but she's out of town for some business related work, so as being the co owner I'm meeting him. But he's fifteen minutes late. Wow such a good first impression!

Jenna walks in "Ma'am Mr.Mikaelson's secretary called and said he's sorry for being late he was stuck with his family, and it will take him another 15-20 mins to reach here."

"Okay" I replied.Well as papa said "Family comes first" So I guess it's okay.

I thought to call Kath and tell her about this mess but the call went to voice call. She must be busy.So I called my other best friend Caroline Lockwood. Yeah we three bffs have "wood" in our surname, interesting isn't it.

She picked up just after two rings "Hey babe how are you?"

"Hey I'm well."

I replied.

"What happened?"

"Well papa made me the head of the council."

"Woah that's great ,but why do you sound so dull?"

"Yeah it is, but than that James fucking Smith had to open his mouth and remind everyone that the head has to be married."

"Get into a contract marriage for a year, simple."

"But with who, I told them I've a boyfriend and we are gonna marry soon, papa wants to meet him this Sunday."

"Woah why did you tell them that?"

"I don't know, I didn't wanted James to win the argument, so I had to shut him up"

"Don't worry we will get through this shit together, we always have."

"I hope so." 

"Don't worry we got your back, gotta go bye meet you tonight"

"Yeah...I can't believe I've to marry someone so that I can be the head of the council." I said while sipping on my mango smoothie.

Just then I head a voice,"Seems like someone is having a trouble in finding a groom"
