LOGINHe didn’t say anything. Just wrapped his arms around me and hugged me from behind. “I appreciate it, but I just need some more time.” I whispered. Turning, I looked at Piercy. “Now you know.” He smirked at me. “I had a hunch. You just confirmed it since you didn’t close the link.” Rolling my eyes, I just went over to the chair and plopped down. “Brett, I am so happy. I never thought you would ever plan a single event.” Piercy squatted down in front of me. “Yeah, well. This might be my last.” Glaring at him, he just laughed. “This shit sucks. I’m not telling you shit. You have to wait until that day to see what we planned.” “If that is what you want.” Piercy stood up and held out his hands. “I only came to get you because lunch is ready. Gavin wants to eat in the office to go over a few things. Apparently, you have to be in there or he won’t even talk to me.” “I don’t frolick around.” Glaring at him, I still took his hand to stand up. “I think frolick is a good word, but sure.” P
“Because… because… I said so!” Cade and Maddox just looked at me with a smile on their faces. “It’s not funny! You can’t do that!” Maddox grabbed his phone and dialed a number before handing it to me. “Here. She said to call her when you came yelling at us.” “The fuck…” I looked at the phone as Tatum answered.“What’s up, sexy?” “YOU ARE NOT BUYING THAT DRESS!” I snapped before Maddox and Cade said anything. “Mhm… okay, well, I think I just did. Seeing how the payment just hit my account, there isn’t much you can do about it.” “That was almost nine thousand dollars!” “Well, with taxes it was, but who’s counting?” Tatum laughed. “Listen, this was happening, so deal with it. After all you did, you deserve to have the dress you want. I’m just surprised you are doing all this.” “W-what?” “Oh, come on. Do you really think Maddox wasn’t going to notice? You weren’t taking part in taking down Simon. He saw the dresses being carried in. A surprise for Piercy? We aren’t stupid.” “Does
“Seriously!” Brittany pulled me to my bedroom. “Hurry and shower.”“It’s Cade’s blood.” I said, smiling at her. That made her freeze. Her eyes went back to me. “Really?” A slow smile spread across her face. Nodding, her anger faded. “Good. You have five minutes.” Stripping naked, I made sure to keep the shower short and sweet. Brittany had a strapless bra and thong for me to put on. Grabbing a robe, she was impatiently tapping her fingers on the counter. “Where are we going?” “I had them put all this in a vacant room. Didn’t want the boys to see it.” She smiled at me as she opened a door. The amount of dresses caught of me off guard. There were all styles, with two different women standing there in black dresses. “Hello, Luna Brett!” “Hello!” I was suddenly overwhelmed. It was one thing to do this for Tatum, but it was a little much for me.“You brought so many choices.” “We did. Since you weren’t sure what you wanted, I brought ones that I thought would really fit your theme.”
“Gather around!” Piercy commanded as Cade and I moved to the ring. Beau walked up and handed me two knives that fit perfectly in my hands. “Don’t kill him.” He muttered, but got closer. “At least make it look like an accident.” Smiling, he walked back next to Maddox. “Alpha Cade has issued a bet with Luna Brett. No one is to interfere.” Cade twirled two knives in his hands. They were fake, but if touched the person, it would leave a red spot. Wanting to show off, I twirled the knives around in my hands like I have done countless times before. “Ready?” Cade asked.“Hey, Beau?” I asked, not taking my eyes off Cade. “Yeah?” “Please record this. Tatum will want to watch this a few times.” “Already one it.” Beau said, just as Cade lunged at me. “Shit.” He was moving quickly. Still, it came back to me like riding a bike. Pushing through my aching muscles, he wasn’t giving an inch. The look of determination only fueled me. Tuning out the audience, I was focused on where I needed to g
It’s been a few days since Cade and Maddox showed up. Brittany and I managed to complete the whole luna ceremony, in secret, and within budget. Currently, my main concern was what dress I was going to be wearing. We left $5,000 for a dress. Today was that day. Piercy was lying on his back with his arm over his eyes. His breathing was level, almost shallow. However, I was wide awake. My wolf was antsy. Getting out of bed, I put on some sweats and a sports bra and headed down to the gym. “Luna.” Gavin smiled at me as I walked in, letting the door shut behind me. Maddox raised his eyebrow at me and nodded. “So, how is that program coming along?” My body froze as I stepped on the treadmill. “Just living my dream.” Maddox dropped his dumbbells and turned towards me. “Bullshit.” I couldn’t help but smile. Gavin watched the whole thing. I couldn’t tell if he was finding this funny, or illuminating. “Aw, Maddox. Please, tell the room what you think.” “I just want to know what you are h
“Brett.” Brittany smiled at me from the couch. “Come here, please.” Gavin was working at Piercy’s computer. Maddox and Cade were standing at his desk. No one seemed particularly happy, but not angry either. “What’s up?” I asked, plopping myself down next to her. “Take a look.” She moved the computer towards me. I had just started looking when she slammed it shut.“Can I help you?” She glared at Gavin. He raised an eyebrow at her. “No. Brett needs another bag.” Grabbing the I.V. I just held out my arm to him. Everyone watched him work as he put the needle in and taped it down. Standing up, he went back to Piercy. “Like I was saying…” She opened it again. She kept watch as I shifted through all the plans. She didn’t plan anything, but gave me the tools to put things where I wanted. She had pegs so I could make the seating arrangement. I made a diagram of how I wanted it to look. Ripping the I.V. out of myself, I just kept going. That got some looks from the guys, but no one said a
