The girl looking at me in the mirror was troubled. She was a warrior, not a fucking princess. They did not train her to sit behind a desk and plan parties, but her old fashion mate believed she needed to be. Piercy was technically 25 years old. Even though he looked closer to 30, his shaggy blonde hair and very square jaw stirred something on me I kept pushed down. Every day I dreamed of his tatted fingers entering my body. Catching that itch that I can’t do myself. I couldn’t give in. I couldn’t be the luna he wanted, and that destroyed me.
Still, I laid down my rules if he wanted me to follow him to his pack. First one, get Maddox and Cade to trust him. He wasn’t an Allie of either of them, so I was immediately skeptical. Second, he had to be okay with me fighting. Third, Tatum needed to approve. Piercy said he won’t let females fight. After everything we been through with Tatum, he still told me he didn’t know he could allow it.
Knock! Knock!
Fuck, if this was Piercy again, I was going to lose it. Ripping the door open, I was ready to let him have it.
“Cade?”
“Can we talk?” He raised an eyebrow at my attitude.
“I mean, you are the alpha.” I said as I stepped aside, it was fun watching his eyes roll as he walked in.
“Attitude, Brett.” He growled, but it never bothered me.
Shutting the door, Cade took a few steps towards my boxes before he hesitated. “What do you want?”
“Why are you so bitchy with me?” Cade turned to look at me. “I literally walked in here.”
“You never come see me. I’m not expecting good news.”
“You are leaving tomorrow. I assumed you wanted to switch packs.”
“Excited to get rid of me?” It stung more than I cared to admit.
Cade opened his mouth, but stopped himself. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Fucking hell.” Cade pushed his alpha aura on me, making me fall to the ground. It turned my neck at a painful angle. “Tell me the truth. What the fuck is wrong?”
“Everything! Fucking you. I’m so mad at you!”
“Me?” Cade pulled the aura back. My pride just took a fucking hit, and he wanted to offer me a hand?
Slapping it away, I jumped up. “What did I do to you?”
“What didn’t you do?” Now the doors were open, it all came out. “I had no one growing up but Tatum. My dad was Kyle’s beta. He might have died a year ago, but he wasn’t a dad. Tatum was there for me. I tried to be another sister to you. I tried to be your best warrior, so you finally accepted me. I saved Tatum as a child, and all I got was blamed. If Tatum did anything bad, it was my fault. I took it because of your dad, but I took it. I took it because she was my only true friend, and I had to. You never saw me, never accepted me, and never fought for me. You barely stood up to Piercy. You moved mountains for Tatum, but tossed me to him and said, figure it out. You don’t care how I feel about living with him. No, you came here to finally get rid of me. Even after I got Tatum out of that house, I’m still not good enough for you.” My rant ended, but Cade didn’t speak for a moment. “Can you please leave, Alpha? I’m tired and would like to go to bed.”
Taking a few steps to the door, it opened quicker than I expected. Piercy stood on the other side, partly falling in from the sudden movement. “Cade?” He looked at my face. “What’s going on?” “I came to ask
Brett about switching packs.” Cade stood up straight as he looked at Piercy.
“Ah, well…” Piercy sighed, “Maybe we can do that tomorrow? I would like to talk to Brett, please.”
“Sure.” Cade didn’t look at me as he walked out. Only put his hand on Piercy’s shoulder and closed the door behind him.
“Is that really what he wanted?” Piercy sighed and sat down.
“It is.” Pushing my feelings down, I just looked at this man. “We already talked, so what is it you want?”
“I decided I didn’t like how it ended.”
“Shocker.” Rolling my eyes, I just sat down across the room from him.
“I’m serious, Brett.”
“Piercy, we haven’t had a personal conversation in a month. The only thing we have discussed is protecting the twins, fighting about me fighting and what Maddox and Tate dealt with. The only time I have seen any form of emotion from you was after I got kidnapped. Otherwise, you barge into my room and demand I change my way.”
His jaw flexed as I fought him. Something that made my panties wet, but I learned how to hide it. “I did what you asked. I protected the twins and they are both my allies.”
“Do you even like them?”
Piercy snorted. “Like them? I’m not a girl, but yeah, they are cool from what I know of them.”
“Look, I’m meeting you halfway. I told you I would come to your pack if you did what I asked. You did, so I’m coming, but I’m not switching packs until I decide if I’m staying.”
This was the same argument we have had over and over. Putting my face in my hands, I just groaned in frustration. I wasn’t looking forward to leaving. Go to a pack where women need to be silent? Fuck that. Yet, here I am. Doing exactly that.
“Spend the night with me.” Piercy leaned forward. His elbows were on his knees. “Stay with me. We can watch a movie and eat popcorn. Just spend the rest of the evening together.” Looking up, his stupid face was giving me that half smile that made my knees shake. “Please?”
I remember the feel of his lips on mine and I wanted that. We haven’t went past that. Shit, I haven’t even spent a night in his bed. “We can start with a movie.”
Brett POV1 month later“Babygirl?” Piercy’s voice was soft as he walked into the closet. “What are you doing?” “Nothing fits!” Fresh tears ran down my face as I looked at the pile of skirts at my feet. “Oh, my love.” Piercy’s humor was annoying. “You are growing our baby.” His hand touched my stomach, making the nausea instantly go away. “Don’t let go. I feel so much better when you touch me.” Letting my head fall back onto his shoulder, I felt the desire run through him. “I’ll never stop..” He started kissing my neck. “…touching you.” His hand moved lower until it cupped my pussy. “Fuck… Piercy.” I moaned as his other hand squeezed my swollen breast. They were about to burst out of my bra. Flipping me around, he let me sink to the ground before lying me back. “Let me take care of you.” Piercy growled as he kissed my swollen belly. “So fucking sexy.” His touch pushed between my folds, making me orgasm almost instantly. “Fuck! Piercy!” I felt my body shake before he slammed his
“Alpha Piercy.” An older woman set a plate of chicken parm in front of us. “Nice to see you again, Luna Brett. You look great.”“Thanks, Betty! How are you?” Brett didn’t hesitate to grab her fork and take a bite. She was honestly pretty happy at this moment.“Doing great, child.” She smiled and walked away. “Beta Henry.” A bigger guy walked up to the table. Henry looked back and pulled out the chair next to him. “Alpha Piercy, this is Gib. He was on the top warriors.” Henry looked at me as he took a bite. “What can I do for you?” I asked, grabbing my water and taking a sip. Gib waved away any food. “I want to be part of this. Help run things.” “Why?” Brett’s tone made Gavin and Beau to sit up. Something Henry and Gib noticed. “You have always had an attitude when it came to authority.” Gib frowned at Brett. “That was with Simon, and I’ve worked on those.” “I’ve beaten you in a match once, Gib.” “You have beaten everyone in a match, Luna Brett.” She smirked. “Touche.” “I’m j
As I sat down, Brett and Gavin were smiling at me. “The look on your guy’s faces right now is pissing me off.” They were standing in front of me, like they were trying to get away with something. Henry walked in, so Gavin just sat down and Brett walked around to me. “You know this is a good thing?” Gavin’s voice was pissing me off. “Do you know the passwords?” Ignoring Gavin, I looked at Henry. “Yes.” He walked over to the printer and grabbed a piece of paper and started writing them down. “Everything is pretty straight forward. Brett, th-”“Luna Brett.” I growled. Henry grimaced. “Sorry, habit. Luna Brett, the security is the same as when you were here, but that information is in the filing cabinet.” “Perfect.” She jumped up and started shifting through them. “You are doing the right thing.” Gavin forced his opinion in my mind. Glaring at him, he just shrugged and looked at Brett. For the next five hours, we went through everything. Brett and Gavin had wrote down the changes t
“This is my Beta Gavin.” Henry held out a hand to Gavin. “Nice to meet you.” He said politely. He was still tense. “Let’s go address the pack.” I said. Henry nodded. “They are all in the training center.” “Baby.” Brett stood up against me as everyone filed out. “It was all business. I never slept with him.” I just looked at her and growled as I grabbed her hand. I’d never admit to it, but I loved when she grabbed my arm as I held her hand. “Brett.” I warned her. She pulled me back, forcing me to turn as she kissed me hard. Squeezing her ass, I felt all the tension build up in me. “All yours.” Brett whispered in my head. “Don’t fucking make me jealous.” Ending the kiss, her lips were swollen as she licked them. “We love you.” My wolf was pushing to come forward. Grabbing her hand, I pulled her with me as the group was waiting for us. Gavin smirked at me, and Beau just rolled his eyes. Henry didn’t have an expression on his face. “Here we are.” Henry opened the door for us. E
Brett was shoving some knives into her boots as she studied Stacy. “Are you sure you want to come? You realize that we will have to assert our dominance? Piercy will probably be challenged, and that is to the death. People you grew up with are going to have to choose.” Stacy looked determined. “I understand. I-I need to do this. Hopefully, some will follow me, but I’m not holding my breath. I’m guessing most didn’t know about Ricky or what anger Simon harbored. Whatever it is, I’ll face it head on.” My eyes landed on Beau. He nodded in understanding. “Let’s go.” The car doors opened to an unsure pack. I could feel their confusion, their anger, and sadness. I doubted any of them knew what happened. I kept Brett next to me, but Gavin was right there. A tall, football built man was standing in front of the packhouse. His muscles were tense as he watched us walk up to him. “I’m Henry.” His eyes went to Stacy before they came back to me. “We can talk in private before I address the wh
Gavin mirrored my mood. We sat across from each other as the girls were still passed out. “I don’t think I can hear any happy stories without wondering what happened to Brett after.” Gavin jumped up. He was pissed off. “I didn’t ask. No reason to make her talk about it.” My arms were folded over my stomach. Gavin opened his mouth to speak when a knock sounded on the door. “I’ll fucking get it.” Whatever Brett was dreaming about, she felt loved. It made me smile, until I saw who walked in. “I’m sorry this is so early.” Jackson was only wearing shorts. “I was hoping to talk to you before everyone else woke up. Honestly, I was coming back from a run and saw the light on.” “What’s up?” “Do you have an answer?” “Probably accept the land and give people a year to relocate. Not sure what I’ll do with the land, but I’ll figure it out.” Jackson nodded. “Alright. I’ll have to come by in a few days to do the ceremony. Just so you have the title.” “Figured so.” I just waited for him to ei
