Ryan had not slept well. He kept replaying the events of the previous night over and over in his mind. The kisses. Ethan showing up. The realization of how close he had come to destroying everything.

He knew now, without question, that he had a weakness when it came to Cora.

A weakness he could not afford to indulge.

So when morning came and he prepared to go to the mansion for their first tutoring session in the library, Ryan made himself a promise. He would be professional. Distant. Careful.

He would not let himself get too close to her. Would not let his guard down. Would not allow himself to be alone with her in any situation where control might slip.

He arrived at the mansion at exactly ten o'clock. Cora was already in the library, setting up her laptop and notebooks on one of the large tables.

She looked up when he entered. Their eyes met. And Ryan felt that pull. That immediate attraction that made everything complicated.

But he pushed it down. Locked it away.

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    The Ones Who Stayed

The operating room doors swung shut behind the departing surgeons. The sound echoed in the sudden quiet that followed their exit. Caleb stood frozen for a moment, staring at those closed doors, unable to process what had just happened.Five doctors had just walked out. Five medical professionals who had decided his sister was not worth saving. That continuing to operate was pointless."Dr. Sterling." A voice brought him back. Soft but firm.Caleb turned. Dr. Sophia Martinez stood across the operating table, her eyes meeting his over Cora's broken body. Sophia was in her early forties, a skilled surgeon who specialized in trauma cases. They had worked together many times over the years."We are still here," Sophia said. "And we are not going anywhere."Caleb looked around the operating room. The exodus had left them with a skeleton crew. Sophia. The anesthesiologist, a quiet man named Dr. Reeves who had not said a word during the entire argument. A surgical tech named Maria. And Hannah

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    Fighting for Life

The operating room was a controlled chaos of beeping monitors, urgent voices, and the metallic smell of blood. Caleb stood over his sister's broken body, his hands working with precision that came from years of training even as his heart was breaking."Vitals are dropping again," one of the nurses announced. Her voice was steady but there was an edge of concern.Caleb glanced at the monitors. Blood pressure falling. Heart rate erratic. They were losing her."Increase the dopamine," he ordered. "And get me another unit of O-negative. Now."The team moved. Fifteen medical professionals surrounded the operating table. Surgeons. Anesthesiologists. Nurses. Surgical techs. All of them focused on keeping Cora alive while Caleb worked to repair the damage. And there was so much damage. The impact had shattered three ribs. One had punctured her left lung. Internal bleeding in her abdomen from a ruptured spleen. Possible damage to her liver. Her left leg was broken in two places. Lacerations ev

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    The Hunt Begins

Ryan arrived at the hospital twenty minutes later. He found Ethan and his father in the waiting room. Alexander looked destroyed. Ethan looked grim."Any news?" Ryan asked."Still in surgery," Ethan said. "Caleb sent a nurse out fifteen minutes ago. Internal bleeding. Fractured ribs. Possible spinal damage. He is working on her now."Ryan sat down. His phone was still clutched in his hand. The messages from his security team and investigator burning in his mind."Father," Ryan said carefully. "I need to tell you something about the accident."Alexander looked up. His eyes were red. "What?""I had my security team pull traffic camera footage. The accident was not random."Ethan straightened. "What do you mean?""The SUV that hit her was waiting," Ryan explained. His voice was tight with controlled fury. "It followed her limousine for three blocks. Then deliberately ran the red light and T-boned her car at full speed. This was planned. Someone tried to kill Cora."The waiting room went

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    Emergency

Caleb was in the middle of rounds when his phone rang. He glanced at the screen and saw the emergency code from the hospital dispatch. His blood ran cold."Dr. Sterling, there has been a serious car accident. Multiple casualties. One of them is a Cora Sterling. Family relation listed as sister."The phone nearly slipped from Caleb's hand."Where?" His voice came out rough. Desperate."En route to emergency now. ETA four minutes."Caleb was already running. He shoved his phone in his pocket and sprinted down the hallway. Other doctors and nurses jumped out of his way as he barreled past them."Clear trauma room one!" he shouted as he burst into the emergency department. "Major vehicle collision incoming. Patient is family. I am taking lead."The emergency staff moved into action immediately. They knew better than to question Dr. Sterling when he used that tone.Caleb scrubbed in quickly. His hands were shaking as he pulled on gloves. His mind was racing with terrible possibilities. How

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    First Day

Two weeks had passed since the announcement at breakfast. Two weeks of legal paperwork and board meetings and arrangements being made. And now, finally, Cora was walking through the glass doors of Sterling Tech Solutions on her first official day of work. The building was impressive. All modern architecture and sleek design. Glass and steel reaching up toward the sky. The lobby was pristine with marble floors and a massive reception desk where three people sat answering phones and directing visitors.Cora felt her stomach twisting with nerves. She wore a professional navy suit that Caleb had helped her pick out. Her hair was styled. Her makeup was minimal but polished. She looked the part of a Sterling executive. But inside, she felt like an imposter."Miss Sterling," one of the receptionists said, standing up quickly. "Welcome. Mr. Ryan Sterling asked me to direct you to the fifteenth floor. Your office is ready.""Thank you," Cora said, keeping her voice steady. She took the elevato

  • Meet My Overprotective Brothers    A New Beginning

Cora did not sleep that night. She lay in her bed staring at the ceiling, Liam's threats playing over and over in her mind."If I cannot have you, no one else will."The words made her skin crawl. Made her chest tight with fear. But she refused to let that fear control her. She had spent too many years being controlled by Liam. She would not give him that power anymore.By the time dawn broke, Cora had made a decision. She was not going to tell anyone about the threats. Not her father. Not her brothers. Because she knew what would happen if she did. They would lock her away in this mansion. They would surround her with security. They would treat her like fragile glass that might shatter at any moment. And she was done being fragile. Done being a victim.Instead, she was going to take control of her life. She was going to move forward. She was going to build something real for herself. She got out of bed and showered. She dressed carefully in professional clothes. A tailored blouse. Da
