Mokunfayo Badmus:

There was tension in the air; I could tell by the way Mike had almost had a row with me because I refused his offer of buying me a new dress. I could tell by the tense way he looked at me when I showed up in his limo and said my simple floral gown was not appropriate for the event we were attending. 

He himself was all decked up in a smart, sky blue double breasted tuxedo, but I still wasn't convinced that such fabulousness was needed in a confraternity get together that was to happen at a club; it still sounded as bizarre as when Mike first told me it was a formal event with a corporate setting. 

What was even more bizarre now, was Mike's hesitance to get out of his vehicle, coupled with the visible nervousness that had him clenching and unclenching his knuckles since we got here several minutes ago.
