I woke up with an aching head , slowly opened my eyes and realized I was in a hospital, immediately my sister screamed “ She is Awake !!” I turned and saw her, she moved towards me and hugged me so tight that I started feeling so much pain from the soreness of my body .

“ It hurts “ I said with my voice muffled while I still tried to figure out what was going on I looked around the hospital room and immediately knew it was Elijah’s hospital, .Then slowly it dawned on me that I wasn’t back in time - on my wedding night , I was at the present day , the day I had fought and stabbed my husband.seeing how there were food items , clothes and extra mattress I knew I had been there for more than two days .

My sister told me how she called me severally after I got off from the phone but he couldn’t reach me , she rushed over to my house and then found a lady in the house who had just called an ambulance, thankfully my husband and I were still breathing , she decided to take us to Elijah’s hospital but immediately I heard her mention my husband I felt an ick in my stomach because sincerely his name was the last name I wanted to hear .I listened to my sister as she narrated the story including how Amelia had helped her , how she called for aid and how she had followed her to the hospital and also how she visited while I was unconscious . As I listened to her I felt sick to my stomach because Amelia was the reason everything had happened.

As my sister was narrating the story , Elija worked in and rushed towards me , “you are awake “ he said with a bright smile on his face , the excitement in his voice and the expression on his face made me think he had been more worried that my sister had been , he took a deep breath and exhaled slowed .

“ oh Elija was here most of the time and was determined to take care of you “ my sister uttered and we all laughed. I have known Elija for a long time and for all the bad scenarios that had happened since I met him , he had been with me through it all and right at this moment he knew a secret that I haven’t mentioned to anyone, he knew about my test result and how deeply hurt it may have made me feel .

Around 2pm , when I stepped out of my ward, Elija had just left my hospital room after we talked , Elija had shown enough concern and care which was also why I had to let my sister get back to work and also told my mum

To continue her business because I was finally Okay though I still have bruises and wounds but they weren’t as painful anymore ,I thought about my husband and wondered how he was , I heard his family had transferred him to another hospital and since after the incident I haven’t been able to see him or heard from him because I was yet to buy a new phone .in my head i didnt think of him as my husband anymore because with everything that had happened, my eyes seemed to have opened to the pain it was once blinded by , I wasn’t going to continue in my Marriage , although during the altercation and fights I had wanted everything to end but now I have a chance to put an end to it in a lawful and moral way , I was going to move on with my life , erase all the pain of my Marriage while I create a new chapter where peace , love , good health and freedom would be written all over .

Watching the hospital Environment, cars drove in while some drove drove out , people moved around , nurses , cleaners , patients , families and even friends visited their loved ones , it was my first time being outside since the incident , I had been confined to the hospital for days that I had forgotten what fresh breath felt like , the day light was brighter than everything, I didn’t realize how long I have been inside until the view of reality and outside world felt therapeutic , the last time I was in this hospital was the day I had collected my test result and the day the greatest conflict of my life had surfaced , at this point in my life only Elija had known and I wasn’t ready to discuss it with anyone , I will take my drugs and live my life in the best way possible .

Suddenly I saw a familiar car drive into the hospital and I watched it closely , my mother in - law stepped out of the car and my heartbeat skipped two beats , I wasn’t ready for her but then I wasn’t going to let her talk me down or blame things on me because I was the victim in the story , I counted her footsteps and imagined how long it would take her to notice me there , in a moment I wanted to run and avoid but then another thought wanted me to live for myself. So I walked towards her bravely without fear or guilt , I was ready to say everything that should be said .

“ I’m sure you came to see me “ i said without trying to rehearse what to say to her but before I could say any other thing a heavy slap landed on my cheek and without notice a tear rolled down my face , to this very point nobody understood me , how could she not understand the pain and the bitterness I felt , she knew me and also knew about the ups and downs in my marriage, some days I cried to her on the phone , the other days she consoled me to bed , so how could she not see that even if I couldn’t kill a fly before but later ended up attempting a murder then something or someone may have pushed me too hard , after all i was a victim and everything I had done was just in my defense .

“ I see you feel so much better, “ she said .

She went on and on about how injured her son was , how she wondered what had happened and how she couldn’t believe I had stabbed him . I was tempted to tell her everything including my health condition but there was no need to tell her because I absolutely had no plan of continuing in our marriage. I listened to her carefully as she talked. I have always known her to be very expressive and opinionated so I didn’t bother trying to explain things to her anymore . I just waited for her to finish before saying the only and last thing I felt was best to tell her .

“I want a Divorce “ i said and then turned my back on her without ever looking back, because right at that moment I didn’t need to think more about it and I didn’t want to be a victim anymore , I was going to build my career , improve my Health and a woman who would never be messed with.

My Meeting with Thelma lasted for Hours , because it seemed like the more we talked the more she perceived me as someone who had suddenly become cynical about marriage but that was far from it , marriage is a good thing but it should be with the right person , I was giving my opinions because I knew Willian’s so well . I needed to make her understand that the term “ marriage “ gives more room for couples to have higher expectations, and many chances to learn so many things about each other that may not have been noticed before .In the course of my marriage I wasn’t the strong woman who never cried or broke down because of a man , it was actually the opposite, the difference was how I carried myself and covered my pains and stress in a different way . Being married to a cheating husband was exhausting. Somehow, I was always the one who felt ashamed of his actions. I worried about what people thought of me, whether they pitied me, and whether they secretly laughed at me for being the

It was a new day in my life as a divorcee who is trying so hard to achieve a lot of things that I would never have achieved as Nate Macdonald's wife.My hangout out with Thelma was scheduled to be by 1:pm and I was already sitting at our usual spot , the same Bistrow cafe that never gets old , Bistrow carries a lot of our memories but that’s not the best part , they make the best velvet cakes for us and for years it’s been our go-to . My instinct had told me earlier that Thelma would always be that type of friend who would claim to be held by traffic on her way to a meeting while she’s probably still at home trying to pick an outfit so I decided to arrive at the venue by 2:pm . It's 2:10 pm and Thelma was nowhere in sight but it didn’t surprise me but I kept looking at my watch anticipating her arrival soon . I sat by the window, sipping my coffee while scrolling through my phone, when I noticed a group of ladies at the far end of the cafe stealing glances at me. They kept whisperin

As a free woman , I am in the best position to be an activist for women’s rights , but before going fully into that , I wanted to increase my restaurant, when I was still married , I had less time to go to my restaurant and most of the time I avoided going there whenever I had a wound from my husbands beating or whenever I was emotionally down . Other days I spent my hours there , trying new recipes and overseeing the affairs of the management. I never had the opportunity to dream bigger about it , and even when brands called for deals I was mostly tied down by marriage affairs . It was around 11:am when I finally figured out what my starting point should be , so I set my camera ,tapped the record button, took a deep breath, and forced a small smile."Hello, everyone. It's been a really long time.but I paused, glancing at the screen before continuing."I know a lot of you have been asking questions about my marriage, especially since the news of my divorce became public. Some of you

I had imagined my wedding night would be nothing but blissful, I have had day- dreams about the day I will have sex for the first time and most importantly the day the love of my life would make love to me , especially as married couples. It was around 9pm that day , The dinner party had finally come to an end. After hours of laughter, champagne, music, and endless congratulations, my husband and I finally stepped out of the grand hotel, hand in hand. The night air felt cool against my skin as we made our way toward the sleek black Rolls-Royce Phantom waiting for us outside. He opened the door for me, and I slipped into the back seat, lifting the hem of my wedding dress carefully. A few seconds later, he joined me, and the car pulled smoothly into the night.I rested my head against his shoulder as the city lights passed outside the window. For the first time all day, there were no cameras, no guests, no music, and no voices calling our names. When we finally arrived at our apartment,
