Chapter 91
The indifference in Zev’s eyes pierced through Layla’s heart. She saw it again… the familiar gaze from the man whom she thought would keep her safe. She was used to Zev’s change of moods from time to time but never expected that it would come to the point where he’d look at her indifferently when she’s facing danger.

Layla felt like floating in the sea of clouds, drowning in confusion as Zev’s lips pressed against hers. She was light-headed for a second until she heard the heavy horse steps and carriage wheels coming towards them.
