Chapter 91

The indifference in Zev’s eyes pierced through Layla’s heart. She saw it again… the familiar gaze from the man whom she thought would keep her safe. She was used to Zev’s change of moods from time to time but never expected that it would come to the point where he’d look at her indifferently when she’s facing danger.

‘Hah! He won’t help me. I know he won’t,’ Layla thought as she bit her lower lip to suppress the words from coming out of her mouth. She moved her eyes to the side where the snake was aiming to bite. Layla’s face twitched when she saw the wound caused by Zev on her shoulder.

‘Ah. So this guy’s attracted to the blood coming out from my wound, eh,’ she told herself as she slowly tilted her head away from the snake. Its mouth kept getting bigger and Layla realized it might take some time until the giant snake could swallow her. ‘All right.
