Chapter 1

Lily's Point of View

Five years ago, I'm aware of what will happen if I continue living as the organization's assassin and stayed as their member. I was rising above others. My name and skills are exceptional, enough for the other members of the organization to think that I'll be their next leader.

It happened before my eighteenth birthday. Before my legality. Unexpected news was fallen into my shoulder. A heavy boulder that has been placed between life and death. The leader, the highest ranking man of the organization stepped down from his seat and indeed choose me to replace him.

I was overwhelmed, stupid, and naive enough to accept the position. I was seventeen, who would think that he'll place the Thanatos under me? Well, everyone does.

But, it didn't become a steady ride for me. It started to be complicated when he-- the unknown and psychotic leader of the organization where I belong since I was seven is after me.

No one knows him, not even his voice. The only thing that binds us together is our blood. The organization that's ruled by bloodline. He's the faceless man who twisted everything from the start and one who ruled the organization for eight years, the twelfth Morgan who reigned for a short time and also known as the Phantom of the organization.

I admire him too much back then. He worked behind the shadows. He succeed in maintaining the stability of the organization for eight years and made the Thanatos the most powerful organization that made in history. That was before he put a huge bounty on my head for his amusement.

It was always amusement and own desires. I've been running away from death and death always spares me. Since I was a child, my father tried to kill me not just twice, but thrice or seven times. Well, I lost count. Now, my psychotic relative is trying to kill me.

It was fun at first, hunters become my prey and prey become my kill. My soul was stained by blood from the people I killed since the time I hold a knife. Guilt isn't going to help me to bring them back and apologize for what I've done.

Surprisingly, I feel calm. I was aware that I would die because of what world I was in or maybe, death was giving me time to repent.

Thoughts of living in peace pass through my mind once, but I was so entertained by the screams of the people I killed. I'm still young and it becomes my satisfaction. I was torturing others, their screams of pain and sorrow help me to lessen my own pain. Peace? It can happen if I die. I can't easily get away from the chains pulling me back to hell.

I look outside the window and put down the book I'm holding on my lap. The weather is nice, the sky is blue and the wind is gently dancing the curtains.

"Lily," A manly voice behind the door called, it was gentle and warm. I close my eyes and ignored him.

The only man I let call me Lily is Silas, he has always called me Lily since we were kids. He demanded that I'm an innocent and pure sister and nothing will change it even tho he knows how many I killed.

The next thing I knew he was already beside me, I didn't sense his presence or heard him. Like a thief or a killer. I opened my eyes and look at him.

"Silas," I called and smiled at him.

As he stepped firmly inside the room, the atmosphere changed. He carried this certain aura, his presence alone command respect and danger.

He walks towards my bed and rests himself, he closes his eyes while breathing calmly. I pressed my lips while looking at Silas and also put my attention to Arceus who's also in the bed, carrying a white cloak fur and black stripes, silently sleeping.

"We will celebrate your birthday, a grand one, whether you like it or not," He informed, breaking the silence between us.

He is dominant and Dangerous, enough for me to fear him, but even how evil he is, I know that he is good enough for me to feel safe and true to myself around him.

"You don't need to do that," I noted and rolled my eyes at him, "It's just a waste of time."

"It's my sister's birthday, what do you expect me to do? celebrate your birthday with Jollibee?" he groaned.

"Are you stupid Silas? Do you want me to celebrate my birthday with flying bullets? It's not even a big deal."

His forehead furrowed, "Lily, spoil yourself for ones. Let me handle the rest." He taunted.

"Don't force it, Silas, it's annoying."

"Afraid?" He asked out of nowhere and glance in my direction.

For a moment, I was caught off guard and was shut for a second. When I stared into his eyes, I saw a deep abyss. Totally opposite from mine, which is a pair of glistening ocean.

While staring at him, I could see why he was being feared by everyone, his eyes were already telling me nightmares. I put down my book beside me and walk towards him, I jumped on the bed and hugged Silas, he sexily chuckled in response.

"Yes," I answered.

I am not a machine who made without feelings or any remorse. I can feel my heart pumping, the warmth of my breath, and the desire to protect someone. I'm afraid, afraid that there will be a day that the one I badly want to protect, leave me.

Silas and my grandfather are the only reason I keep moving forward, When I'm with Silas, I know everything will be okay like I was scorching deeply in a vast ocean yet he's still beside me.

"Don't argue with me, I already invited all of your friends."

"I don't have any friends, what are you talking about?" I confusedly asked.

He shut his eyes and massage his temple, "What? so you're a loner after all."

"Yeah, your sister is a total loner so cancel your party, and let's just celebrate it here! It's way better!" I suggested.

He open his eyes and look at me, he smiled at me, "No."

"But I don't want to!" I pointed out.

My world is full of betrayal, facades, and lies everywhere. Anytime-- anyone can pull the trigger and leave a cold body lying on the floor.

But it's my destiny. Thanatos means death, death means freedom.

__

The red velvet backless elegant dress that Silas gave me is the dress that Silas insisted I wear for my birthday. Too much for a day before my eighteenth birthday. He insisted that it's way cooler to celebrate my birthday before the clock strikes twelve. I'm speechless and lost. I wanted to be vigilant, but he remain relaxed.

Silas also gave me an elegant red mask, enough for me to hide my face and to realize what tricks he was pulling. My blonde hair is curled up to my waist and light makeup was put on my face.

"Hey, beautiful," My attention was caught by an old man walking toward me. He's wearing a black suit and a hat. He's looking fine for his age even though he's already holding a stick to support himself. Behind him are his guards who came along with him, wearing decent suits at talking to their walkie-talkies.

"Old man," I greeted. I walked toward him and hug him. He also does the same using his right hand while the other one is supporting his body.

His brows met at my remark. Stefano Huxley is a business tycoon and one of the most powerful individuals in the industry. He doesn't look old, his hair has a few strands of white hair, but still good-looking and can still pull off a girlfriend.

"Happy birthday, my favorite granddaughter."

"I'm your only granddaughter."

"My only legitimate one," I smirk at what he said, but my smirk instantly vanished.

"You shouldn't let Silas let do this," I anxiously scolded him.

"He's hard-headed as you are, what do you expect?"

"But still-- this is not even his birthday," I wailed.

I didn't argue with Silas after he decided that he'll throw a grand party for me.

"Am I disturbing you?" Silas who appeared out of nowhere is already a few steps away from us.

"Old man," Silas called and look at my Grandfather. He walked towards us. His eyes were darted to Don Stefano-- my grandfather with dominance, a smirk plastered on his face and hands inside his pants pocket.

I raised my brow, he also do the same making me groan and roll my eyes at him. I distanced myself from my grandfather and crossed my arms. I was unable to speak.

"Silas, you're looking good." My grandfather said and chuckled a bit.

"Thank you granpapi, by the way, you're looking old." He teasingly joked and put his hand on my shoulder and smirked at my grandfather again-- my grandfather and Silas always fight over me, they're both teasing each other whenever I'm around.

Silas look at me with a half-smile plastered on his charismatic perfect face, "Hello there princess," he greeted and pinch my cheeks. "Happy birthday, little devil."
