Cassie
"Are you okay?" I asked Matthew once we got out of the room. He's no longer as red as a tomato but he still avoids my gaze.I was just in the mood to tease him more so I kept moving towards his line of sight and he would do his best to look elsewhere aside from me. I could not help but chuckle at his childish behavior."Yeah, I'm alright." He says, but seemed to have changed his mind as I smiled at him. "No, actually I am not.""Why? What's wrong with you?" I ask him. Maybe he's really not feeling well. I tried to touch his forehead to feel his temperature but he doesn't feel hot. He took my hand from his forehead and pulled me towards him.Matthew's body is firm and sturdy. I could basically feel the muscles underneath his thin shirt. He places my hand over her heart and I could feel his heartbeat. His heart is beating so fast underneath his chest.I took a step closer towards him and I could hear him gasp as I placed my head over his chest. WowCassie"I'm leaving," I said on the phone as I scanned the books in the bookstore."Please, pretty please," Mel pleaded on the other side of the line. I’ve been friends with Mel Davis ever since I got into university. I have a soft spot for her and she definitely knows it."I've been waiting here for an hour!" I said trying to sound as angry as I could. I hate people who are late but what I hate the most is when they don't show up after they kept me waiting."I'm so sorry. I’m really sorry. Please forgive me," she said apologetically, she sounded like a scared little bunny. I let out a small laugh. Huge mistake. I just gave her an opening to continue to persuade me to stay."Come on, you shouldn't let our efforts go to waste. Just get the fan sign and get out of there, okay?" she said, finally sensing victory.Aish, that brat! Our? I'm the only one doing the dirty work in here! And why would I even care to get a fan sign from a band I don't even know of? A rock ban
CassieI grabbed the opportunity to enjoy my last fleeting moments of peace. I took a deep breath and slowly, dramatically opened my eyes.3...2...1..."What!? You lost the autographs!?" Mel shouted, standing up from the table. Not that it made a difference. She's even smaller than me that she should stand on a chair if she wanted to get my attention."Technically, I lost my notebook which contains your precious treasures," I said calmly, not even budging from my seat. I don't really mind losing that notebook. Besides, it’s not as if she was the one who wasted a few hours waiting in line for it. Only to get lost in the end."Do you know where you left it? Maybe we can still find it," she said hopefully, pacing the small space of our shared room. I’m staying at one of the university dorms and Mel just happened to be my roommate. I have no complaints about her whatsoever except when she’s being hyperactive like this."I knew exactly where I left it," I replied rememb
Cassie"Hey," I called to the guy with the green hair. What was his name again? All I can remember is he loves eating and sleeping."Kasey," Mel whispered beside me."Kasey," I called again."Yes?" he asked, finally turning around. I handed him the slam book he gave me a few days ago. I totally forgot about it until it magically showed itself to me this morning. I didn't know such thing still exists. Even grade school students prefer to use F******k."Seriously, Cass? It's been a week. How can you not know their names?" Mel said as I went back to our station."Uhm, because I'm a visual learner?" I answered. "I’m not really good with names. And I know Clark."Clark, the bassist. He's really nice. He reminds me of an uncle. Not my uncle, though. They’re all bonkers."That's not good enough," Mel said, exasperated.I knew Mel sent our applications forms to them first. A couple of them, actually. But I really didn't think we'd get them. I was merely patronizin
MatthewI heard shouts of laughter as I went to the studio. It was a girl's so it was probably Mel. I never thought it would be Cassiopeia. That girl just sits around all day, staring blankly into space."Cassie," I saw Kasey lift her up and spin her into circles. She was obviously enjoying it, since she's not telling him to stop. What is Kasey doing touching a girl carelessly like that?So she knows how to laugh, too. She always looked so serious I thought there was something wrong with her facial expression. She looked scary when she's angry, too."Since when did those two become so friendly?" I asked Landon as I put down my bags."Hmm...Let me think. Since you stopped coming to practice," he said sarcastically."I told you I was visiting my hometown for a while," I said defensively.I did went to my hometown for a few days. He didn't seem to have a problem with it before I left."Do you think we didn't notice that you've been avoiding her?" he said, referr
CassieThe next morning I woke up to a bright sunny day. My dream must have been good, too good to even remember. But it left me with a tingling sensation that I usually carry throughout the day.Mel was still sleeping on the top bunk of our shared room. That slowpoke. I'll bet she'll snooze her alarm for another hour before turning the house upside down just to get to work in time.I went ahead and got dressed but Mel was still dead asleep when I came back to check on her. It won't be of any use trying to wake her up. You could abduct her to another planet and she wouldn't feel a thing. I should be worried about her.I left a sticky note on her forehead and made sure to lock the door when I left. The studio was quite a ways from our apartment, so I had to walk towards the bus stop to get there. It was still pretty early and the warm summer breeze was blowing. I was wearing my rubber shoes since I intended to have a little jog, I was lacking exercise these past few days
Matthew“Matthew,” I felt a hand lightly tapping my cheek. “Matthew, wake up.”I slowly opened my eyes and was greeted by a blinding light. My hair’s plastered to my forehead with sweat. My arm felt stiff and I felt disoriented for a little while. Right, we were up on the hill. I must have fallen asleep. It sure felt nice having some peace and quiet once in a while. Cassie was already up, stretching.“What time is it?” I asked, dusting off some grass from my pants.“It’s nine in the morning,” she said, unbothered.“Already!?” I asked with a jolt. I must have slept more deeply than I thought. I took out my phone and saw missed calls from at least five people. I sighed. Landon left a voice mail. Which in itself was a bad omen.Get your ass in here right this instant, it says.“Did I get you in trouble?” Cassie asked, a crease forming on her forehead. I noticed her eye
Cassie100 facts about Landon Hart100 facts about Matthew Rayner100 facts about Clark ClineI scrolled down the screen but there wasn't one with the same headline as Kasey's. Weird. But what's more weird is how I could work with these people and know next to nothing about them. As a Communications intern, I totally suck. How am I supposed to promote them without even knowing the basic stuff about them? This is so frustrating. I don't know why I prefer to consult Google instead of asking the people themselves."Are you stalking us?" Landon said, rolling his seat towards mine and leaning closer to look at my computer. Unlike Clark, Landon could be a bully at times that's probably the reason why we got along with each other. He’s someone like a partner in crime. We both like playing pranks on the other guys."It's called working," I said making quotation marks with my fingers in the air, emphasizing the word work. "I'm doing my research.""Com
Matthew"Where's Cassie?" I asked. These past few days she's been mostly late for work. Sometimes she doesn't show up all day at all. Mel told us she was having a hard time sleeping at night so she lets her sleep in during the day. At times she doesn't feel so well that we told her to take the day off so she won't get worse."Good morning," Cassie said weakly coming into the room. Her hair was tied into a ponytail, which was a rare sight. I tried to look her in the eye but she was looking down. I can see the layer of dark circles forming under her eyes. She quietly sat on her desk and powered up her computer."Is she okay?" I whispered to Mel who was equally observing her. Cassie moves like a zombie from The Walking Dead. I’m seriously concerned about her.Mel shrugged. "She barely touches her stash on the fridge. I have to force her to have a few spoonfuls every time I eat with her."So she wasn't eating, I thought. No wonder she's too thin. Her cheeks, which was her
