Gray pov:
She's just ungrateful. I thought girls loved being taken care of. Why is she so full of herself? I wasn't sure why I couldn't shake her off my head, I didn't want to appear weak and needy, I just kept throwing myself at her hoping she would come to me but the more I tried the more she stayed away. “I only told you to get Sophia dismissed, why did you post her tapes, how did you even get hold of it,” I asked Theo clenching my fist as I fumed in anger and disappointment. “ I only wanted to spice things up, I didn't know Lena wasn't going to be okay with it. She's such a sweet girl, I'm sorry. Why would you even scare her off like that, you keep ruining your chances of getting close to her.”Theo replied dropping into the chair across me. “You should only do what I asked you to do. How's the search going? Any news about their hideout? I asked hoping for good news. “Not really. His mansion has been empty since yesterday. We saw his men rushing out earlier today but we lost them halfway, they are really up to something, I can smell it”. Theo said looking curious. “You need to be up and doing, Theo. I am tired of you always coming back here with no tangible news. Gather the boys, we might have a little meeting today. Someone from this firm is working with Leo, I need to know which of those old fools are feeding him with all the information. I will make sure to crash the person so badly.” I growled, my eyes blazing in fury. The world seems to be conspiring against me. “Stupid old fools”. I murmured slamming my hands on the desk. “What the Fvck man!” Theo yelled scrolling through his phone as he stood up. “What,” I asked clenching my fists. “Lena has been kidnapped by Leo's men. She was taken from her house not quite long ago. And he said you should come save her alone.” Theo replied looking all worried. “Fvck!, I shouldn't have exposed her like that to the world and now she's in danger. Everyone around me keeps getting in trouble all because of me but I am done allowing Leo to get away with his evil deed. Send the location. I will go to him right this minute.” I uttered sagging my shoulder. “You can't go there alone, someone has to go with you. Maybe we can hide while you meet with him, if anything comes up, you can alert us. Please, Gray, don't do this alone. Theo said, with his eyes full of concern. “Alright then, you can get our men ready. But make sure not to do anything stupid till I call for you.” I bantered warning Theo. I wasn't sure why Leo would use Lena to get to me, my heart was itching for her after the last time and I wasn't going to lose her. She reminded me of her, could she be the one? After all these years, I wasn't going to stop searching for her, I had failed her once and I wasn't going to let that happen again. I promised I was going to stay faithful till I was sure that she was no more, has she been around all this while and I didn't notice, did she come back in human form? I need to keep Lena closer to me till I'm sure she's not the one have been searching for over ten years. I got to the location Leo sent and I couldn't find anyone, but only a sign that said” Keep walking. Leo has always been a coward, he keeps hurting people just to get to me but will never show himself to me. He was my best friend and a brother, we practically grew up together. It wasn't my fault that she wanted me, not him. We were supposed to get married the following week when she went missing. Leo had sent me some of her pictures where he had damaged her face, I still pleaded with him to let her go and that I was going to marry her regardless. Later that night he sent a video of him shooting her dead. I wasn't going to give up, I needed to see her dead body. “Long time no see my brother” A voice said from my back and I turned, A tall dark-skinned man, with blond hair and wider shoulders. Nothing has changed about him, but I don't understand why he kept hiding his face under a mask. “Leo. I called out. “You haven't changed, when are you going to stop, when will you get tired of haunting me? You took the only thing that was making sense in my life away and you are not satisfied.” I uttered as my glare flattered. “Wait! Do you mean she's not Oliv? Why does she look so much like her, everything about her reminds me of the woman I love and you stole her from me. You always outshine me in everything but just this once I begged you to let me shine, and you refused. Leo yelled as his voice echoed. “I didn't outshine you Leo. Oliv never loved you, you wanted me. We were perfect together, when will you ever understand that”. I replied getting ready for a fight. “You lie! Loe screamed as he pushed me. “You've been asking for this,” I sneered, cracking my knuckles. Leo charged, our fists colliding in a furry of punches. My jab connected with Leo's jaws sending him stumbling back. The fight raged on, each blow landing with precision. My foot connected with Leo's stomach, sending him crashing into the dumpster, Leo sprang up, his eyes blazing. “You will pay for making her break my heart, Leo snarled, landing a solid punch on my face. I stumbled, my face bleeding, Leo seized the the opening, pinning me to the ground as he brought out a substance trying to inject me but Lena was too quick, she appeared a within room holding a metal, has she landed a heavy metal on his head, and Leo screamed in pain” you will pay, I will make your lives miserable” he yelled running away. “No! I screamed reaching out to Lena but wasn't too fast as one of Leo's men gunshot landed on Lena. **The corridors smelled of smoke and metal like the ghost of violence still lingered in the air. Lena’s boots echoed against the concrete as she tore through the building, her heart pounding loud enough she feared it might give her away. They said it was over. They said the kids were safe. She didn’t wait for confirmation. She ran.“Garry!” she cried, voice cracking like a glass under pressure. The name ripped through her throat, but it felt like it wasn’t loud enough. Could he hear her? Could he feel her coming? Her lungs burned, but she didn’t stop. Each room she passed blurred into the next. Each hallway looked the same. UntilThere.A small bed. A child’s frame curled under a thin blanket. Her breath caught.“Garry…” she whispered this time, stepping closer, trembling. Her boy,her sweet, innocent boy looked even smaller than she remembered. Pale. Fragile. Like something the world had already tried to break.“You should let him rest,” came a soft voice behind her. Larry. Calm as alwa
“Sebastian thinks he can use me?” Oliv muttered, her breath quick and heavy. “The plan has changed.”The night air was thick and silent, pressing against her skin like invisible hands. She moved fast, too fast down the creaking basement stairs, each step echoing louder than the last. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears, wild and vengeful.“No more playing nice,” she hissed to herself. “This time, I disappear with the kids. And this time... I do the using.”The flickering basement light above cast shaky shadows across the children’s terrified faces. Three of them. Roped together. Their wrists red from struggling. Eyes wide with silent screams. She crouched low, forcing herself to breathe steady. The duct tape stretched tight across each of their mouths, sealing in their sobs. The sound of it tearing off the roll was almost soothing.“Now listen,” she whispered, her voice sharp and metallic like the edge of a blade. “If any of you want to see your parents again... you will do exactly as I
Lena paced back and forth in her room, her phone pressed to her ear. The line crackled with static, and Larry voice, distant and muffled, barely reached her. “Larry, can you hear me? What is the update? I waited for your call yesterday since you said you were going to call. “Yeah yeah,Lena. I’m on it. I was going to call you yesterday but something came up, my guys suggested we hang out with some hot chick, I came home pretty wasted. Anyways, I just got a lead. But I need to ask you something, thought you said you only have one child?” Lena sighed,” yes, why?” She asked her voice almost a whisper. “Because according to my source,it was two kids that was taken that day, then we kept digging. Some guy named..what’s his name? Oh, right, Jack. Jack something, I don't really give much fuck about his name though. According to him, a lady came to rent the van from his shop, she claimed she needed it to pack her things because she was relocating. We've has been trying to track the lady but
The silence was deafening. Lena and her husband, once inseparable, sat across from each other at the dining table, a chasm of unspoken words separating them. The soft glow of the chandelier cast long, eerie shadows on the walls, mirroring the darkness that had crept into their relationship. Lena gazed was fixed on her plate, the untouched meal a stark reflection of her turmoil. Her heart ached with a mix of regret and longing. She missed the days when laughter filled their home, when their love was a beacon of warmth and comfort. The ticking of the clock on the wall seemed to amplify the silence, each tick a painful reminder of the time slipping away. They had once shared dreams, hopes, and aspirations. Now, it felt like they were strangers, living under the same roof. Gray, equally lost in thought, kept stealing glance at her. He couldn’t figure why she was so angry at him,he blamed himself for getting drunk that day, all this incident could have been avoided. They finished thei
The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on Oliv face. She sipped her water, her gaze fixed on the bustling bush outside the window. Yesterdays conversation with Sebastian replayed I her mind, his words stinging like a fresh wound. His sharp tone, his sarcastic words- it had caught her off guard. She thought she'd finally meet someone that will love her without judging her, shed always admired his quick wit and a d easy charm, but yesterday, he’d shown a side of him, to even think it was not his time of saying that to her. Emily glanced at the entrance, her heart pounding. She was hearing Sebastian's voice, he was probably heading in her direction, she wasn't prepared to face him. Instead, she buried herself in her water, pretending to be lost in thought. She could feel his presence, the weight of his eyes on her, but she refused to look up. She wanted to avoid the awkwardness, the tension, the possibility of another bitter truth from him. “The kids w
The stale air of the basement hung heavy, thick with the scent of fear and dust. Oliv, her heart a leaden of weight, shuffled forward with a tray of untouched sandwiches. The children, huddled together like a frightened birds, met her gaze with defiance. “Come on, now," she said , her voice barely a whisper. "You need to eat. You haven't had anything since..." She trailed off, the memory of their terrified faces when she'd first dragged them down here too painful to bear. “We don’t like this place, we want to go home.” Garry said his voice barely a whisper. Silence stretched between them, the only sound the ticking of an old grandfather clock in the corner. The sandwiches sat untouched, a stark contrast to the emptiness in their hollowed eyes. “You will soon go home, your dad is only making this complicated, trading your life for wealth, is it even worth it?” Oliv sighed.” You will have to eat something, please just have a bite. It will break your mom heart to see you weak, you need
