Lyra’s POV

As we drove deeper into the valley, the towering Rocky Mountains surrounded us like ancient guardians, their peaks piercing the clear blue sky. The air grew thinner, colder, purer. Every breath I took filled my lungs with crisp winter air tinged with pine and frost. Snow blanketed the trees and rocks in shimmering white, untouched and breathtaking.

“I thought you said this was an ugly place,” Dax teased, a playful smirk curving his lips as he nudged me. His teasing tone made warmth bloom in my chest.

I groaned softly, cheeks flushing. “I said that when I was angry. You weren’t supposed to remember.”

“Oh, I remember everything you say,” he replied, voice low, and my heart skipped a beat.

His hand slid from the steering wheel to rest gently on my thigh—a light, grounding touch that sent heat coursing through me.

“Don’t worry, Lyra,” he murmured, his tone softer now, filled with sincerity. “I knew you were hurting then. You had every reason to feel that way. We w

Lyra – POV There was a sudden noise in the hallway loud, frantic, chaotic like a swarm of bodies crashing through the corridor all at once. Footsteps thundered against the floor, each one vibrating through the walls and straight into my chest. My eyes flew open. A cold jolt shot through me as realization dawned in a single, horrifying pulse. We were under attack. It didn’t build gradually. There was no warning. It hit like a nightmare ripping itself into reality. And worst of all… My mates weren’t back yet. Where were they? Why hadn’t they returned? Why had no one warned me? Fear crawled under my skin, sharp and merciless, squeezing around my ribs until I couldn’t breathe. I sat up, frozen caught between wanting to run and being too terrified to move. Then I heard it. At my door. The handle rattling. Someone trying to get in. My heart slammed once twice then seemed to stop altogether. When the lock didn’t budge, the intruder didn’t hesitate. CR

Lyra’s POV The bell above the door chimed softly as I stepped into Martha’s shop. The air was thick with earthy scents—lavender, cedar, and something faintly sweet—and every surface was alive with color. Vines trailed from hanging pots, sunlight spilling through the windows to kiss petals of wildflowers in every shade imaginable. It felt peaceful here, almost sacred, like the air itself had been blessed by calm hands. As soon as she spotted me, Martha’s face brightened, her smile warm and genuine. “Lyra!” she exclaimed, rounding the counter before I could respond. She wrapped me in a tight hug, smelling faintly of rosemary and honey. “I missed you.” Her warmth caught me off guard, but I returned the embrace, letting her kindness melt a little of the tension I hadn’t realized I was carrying. When we finally pulled apart, her bright eyes gleamed with amusement. “Alpha Kael?” she teased, arching a knowing brow. My cheeks warmed instantly. “What?” I asked, though the word ca

Lyra POV My heart was pounding fast, unsure of what Kael wanted to do. I felt the cord that tied us tug, and my core ached some more. He spread my legs and growled, then bent to kiss my folds. No one had ever touched me there before, but the desire I felt took away the awkwardness. "So wet, Lyra. Mint," he said, and I anticipated what he meant by pleasure. I felt his hot tongue on my mound, and the sensation shot to my head, making me moan louder than ever. He moved down my slit with his tongue until he reached my entrance. He circled no entrance with his tongue, and my body shuddered. What was he doing to me? I wasn't in my senses and my body began move on its own, responding to what he was doing, chasing after something I wasn't aware of. "I won't push in too deep, I promise," he linked me, and I felt him place his finger in me. I moaned from pleasure, and I felt my core become wetter. My walls were squeezing his finger, wanting to be filled up. What was he doing to

  • Mistaken by fate(the Lycans curse)   042: A promise from kael

Lyra’s POV I rested my hands on his shoulders, feeling the pull between us but still cautious. “I… I want you too, Kael,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “But I just need a bit more time.” Kael’s eyes softened, the teasing glint fading into something quiet and understanding. He nodded once, then pulled me closer, his arms wrapping around me protectively. “It’s alright,” he murmured. “You set the pace, Lyra. I’ll wait.” That simple promise unraveled something inside me. For so long, every touch had felt like a demand, every word a weapon, but now, I was being offered patience. A choice. And for the first time, I believed it might be real. The warmth of his embrace sank deep, easing the ache I hadn’t realized I still carried. Maybe, just maybe, I was safe here. I slipped from Kael’s lap and returned to my seat, my cheeks still flushed, the weight of their gazes lingering on me. Dax’s grin was boyish, full of pride, while Ronon’s eyes, dark and steady, watched me with an

Lyra’s POV Dax and I lingered on the cliff for what felt like hours, basking in a peace I never knew could exist between us. The wind swept gently through my hair, carrying with it the scent of pine and snow, and for once, the silence wasn’t heavy it was healing. Dax sat beside me, his eyes fixed on the horizon, his hand occasionally brushing against mine in quiet reassurance. He was unexpectedly kind, gentle in ways I hadn’t imagined. Every word, every glance, carried a subtle promise—that the pain of the past could fade, replaced by something good and lasting. Though I was cautious, my heart too wary to fully believe, I allowed myself a small hope. Maybe, just maybe, this peace wasn’t fleeting. Maybe my life could finally step out of the shadows of pain and anger. And somehow, I found myself praying that this could truly be my fate not Lira’s. The afternoon sun began to dip, painting the snow in shades of rose and amber. We packed our things in comfortable silence, the w

  • Mistaken by fate(the Lycans curse)   Chapter 40: out with Kiro

Lyra’s POV The words came slowly at first, halting, as if they’d been buried too deep for too long. But once they began, they poured out—raw, trembling, unstoppable. “After my mom’s death,” I began, voice fragile, “growing up alone was something I swore I’d never go through again. Living like a curse in your own pack… it wasn’t a feeling of home. I struggled to survive every day. Sometimes I’d imagine what it would’ve felt like to have a family—one that loved me without condition.” My chest tightened as the memories surfaced—cold nights, harsh whispers, the loneliness that had hollowed me out. That was all I could bring myself to share. I couldn’t mention my twin yet. Not until I knew she was safe. Dax’s hand traced gentle circles on my back, his warmth grounding me when my voice faltered. “Did you have any plans for your future?” he asked softly, genuine curiosity in his tone. For a moment, I allowed myself to remember the dream I once held close. “I wanted to be a healer
