LOGINTo hide the secret of her bloodline, Hazel White endured the rejection of her fated mate, but fate made her marry her friend out of desperation to save her adoptive mother. She left her first mate's pack after being humiliated by the present Luna and went to her now husband's pack, where her mother got the necessary medical aid and Hazel got a home. What she didn't know was that fate still had something twisted in its basket for her. Her world turned upside down when she met her husband's elder brother, and the alpha of that pack, Alexander Nickelson. Her wolf screamed "Mate" inside her, making her feel dizzy because her second chance mate was her brother-in-law too. What she would do? Would she give in to the mate bond and divorce her husband, who had always been with her when she needed a shoulder to rely on? Would she reject him too because he was also an alpha, and she didn't want to be a puppet in the hands of an alpha because of the secret of her bloodline? Would Alexander be able to seduce his stubborn mate or would he accept her rejection just because she is wolf-less omega to everyone?

I hissed in pain while applying the ointment on my chest where I had two broken ribs.
My left ribs were still aching because last night she ordered a group of her people to corner me in a warehouse and beat me up.
“You bitch, you’re nothing but a spineless Omega; you don’t deserve his attention!” She slapped me hard and slammed my head to the ground, kicking on my chest continuously while screaming at the top of her lungs. “You deserve to die!”
Well, the wound had healed, thanks to my wolf healing, but the lingering pain was still unbearable with the heartache that I was going through now.
I pulled my top down and took a deep breath before putting the pendant on my neck again. All I needed was to go through the ceremony without being noticed by anyone.
Especially not by Keith and Naisha. I came out of the room in the servant's wing and locked it. I started walking towards the exit with a heavy heart.
“We can do this, Xyla. We can do this. We are stronger than this.” I muttered to my wolf, who was enraged and wanted to take control, but she couldn’t because of the safety charm as the pendant of my necklace.
“I don’t care what will come next, Hazel, but you are going to break this charm so that I can go out and claim what’s mine.” She growled aloud at the back of my mind, scratching the walls with her paws in anger, giving me an immense headache, but heartache was more painful than that headache.
I wanted to ignore her rage, but tears brimmed in my eyes. I started walking in the direction of the training ground, where the mating ceremony is about to begin in a few minutes. My legs were heavy as if someone had tied tons of load around my ankles.
It’s not like she is the only one who wanted to claim our mate. I wanted to, but I hated our mate more than the urge of claiming him.
Because my mate, Alpha Keith Locke, was going to take a chosen mate today when I, his fated mate, had to watch this.
He forced me to watch this because I am a wolf-less omega.
Far beneath his status as a powerful Alpha, one of the top ten most powerful alphas.
With every heavy step towards the ground, I recalled the memories of the attack on my pack twelve years ago, which destroyed the whole pack, killing every member in front of my eyes.
My parents, my brothers, playmates, young pups, omegas, wounded warriors…..
Everyone….
I could still hear their screams and pleas for help, but my brother, the future alpha of our pack, put his command on me before hiding me in a hidden closet in the living room of the pack house. He commanded me to stay inside that closet until the next day.
I couldn’t even scream while watching the slaughter because of his command. He put this pendant on me, protecting them from getting a whiff of my scent.
“Why are you standing here? The ceremony is about to start.” I flinched harder, holding the pendant of my necklace tightly when Reenie, an omega maid in the pack house, asked me while looking at me warily.
I didn't realize that I had already reached the ceremony ground in my daze.
“O yeah!” I exclaimed, trying to sound excited; only a tight smile appeared on my lips, but she just scoffed while rolling her eyes and went away.
Of course, all the omegas in this pack always see me beneath them because I don’t have a wolf.
This is what they know, but the reality is far away from their grasp.
“You went through that trauma, Hazel. You can go through any hell.” I muttered to myself in my heart, encouraging myself in the process.
I walked towards the entrance and immediately walked to the far corner of the ground
I stopped there, hiding myself behind the broad physiques of two warriors in front of me, and looked at the platform where Keith was standing with his chosen mate, Naisha Holt, the daughter of the beta Steven Holt of our neighboring pack, the Red River pack.
To everyone, Naisha was a perfect Luna for Keith.
But to me, she was my hell.
Ever since I came to this pack a year ago, Keith had known that I was his mate. He just refused to admit me, a wolf-less Omega, as his mate and ordered me to hide the secret.
But it wasn't only me who noticed the way he looked at me; his girlfriend, Naisha, also noticed this, and this was the start of my nightmare. The throbbing pain in my ribs was the evidence of her cruelty.
This wasn't the first time that she hurt me, but Keith always ignored it.
I jerked my head, tried to clear my head, and forced that terrible memory back in the deep corner of my brain. I pressed my chest to ease the pain in both my heart and those broken ribs.
“Now let us witness this happy moment as this new couple marks their union,” the ceremony officiant announced enthusiastically.
Naisha had a sweet, happy smile on her face.
Suddenly, I felt Keith’s eyes on me. My dark hazel eyes met his dark black eyes, which had the coldness of an iceberg when he looked at me.
I felt my breath ragged when I realized what he was doing. He wanted to see me shedding tears when he would mark her.
Xyla howled aloud in pain when Keith sank his canines in Naisha’s neck while locking his gaze with mine. He was waiting for my breakdown.
I dug my nails deep inside my palms to suppress my pain, but I didn’t let pain come to my face. I just watched the whole marking with a blank gaze without giving him the satisfaction of breaking me.
Xyla howled in pain again, and I clutched the pendant tightly when he retracted his canines and licked that place to close the wound, his eyes still locked on me, coldness and taunt still evident.
Everyone applauded and hooted while clapping hard, but all I could hear was the shattering of my heart into millions of pieces.
Naisha beamed with pride and slowly held his neck while extending her canines. I couldn’t stay indifferent to the whole situation by now, and before Naisha could even move her canines towards his neck, I fled.
Xyla howled aloud in pain again but retreated deep inside my mind. I didn’t care about her, as I was wounded too.
I ran to the parking lot and jumped inside my car and drove away.
Where? I don’t know, but I wanted to go away from this place….
The tears streamed down like a waterfall, my feet pressing the accelerator hard.
The pain in my chest was unbearable. Why didn’t he reject me before taking a chosen mate?
Why did he let me go through this pain?
Why?
Suddenly a sharp beam of white light blinded me, and the next second, I knew I had hit the brake with all my strength.
Hazel’s P.O.V. (Continued)I told Mom everything that happened in the hospital. She was I deep sleep and couldn’t hear a thing. So, I didn’t hide anything and even told her about my injuries. It felt good after speaking everything.“It really hurt, Mom. Yuna said that ba*tard hurt my bone. I am angry, but it’s not his fault. He is sick.” I mumbled to him while rubbing my mother's palm on my cheek.I didn’t want to leave the job, not because this was my first full-time job, but because I actually wanted patients like Jeff to recuperate quickly and go back to their loved ones. Not all of them are monsters. Most of them are victims of circumstances like Jeff.I looked at the door when it opened and Cody entered cautiously.“She is still sleeping.” I told him while putting mom’s hand on the bed.“So, vent everything out already?” he asked me teasingly, and I glared at him.He chuckled while taking the chair. I was still sitting at the edge of the bed.“I discussed the treatment plan that
Hazel’s P.O.V. (Continued)“Why are you here?” Alexander asked her angrily before she could enter the room completely. I pursed my lips into a thin line and glanced at Cody.He had an expressionless face now, but he slowly lowered his head. She didn’t answer him immediately, nor did she seem offended by his questioning. She slowly closed the door and walked towards me, holding her head as an alpha’s daughter should do.“Your father wants us to cultivate our relationship. How do we do that if we don’t meet and spend time together?” She questioned calmly, stopping in front of Alexander on our side of the table.I tightened my grip on my hands and lowered my eyes. She was his chosen mate, a perfect marriage partner chosen by Alpha Henry.Suddenly, I felt like running out of this room.“Hey, Hazel. I heard that you were attacked this morning. Are you okay?” I looked at Janet and smiled tightly.“I am fine, Ms. Wilson. Thanks for asking.” I answered politely, but she smiled sweetly.I didn
Hazel’s P.O.V.The second incident in the hospital..Once again, a level 3 patient lost control and seriously injured a nurse…By finishing the round with Cody and experiencing the violent behavior of Jeff, I had accepted the fact that it would be the common occurrence here, and it will be better for me if I accept this as soon as possible. So, I wasn’t surprised or scared when I heard about the second attack. What shocked me the most was Alexander’s presence and his behaviour when he called my name before seeing that nurse. Then he hugged me.His body was shaking badly, and his heartbeat was running a marathon.I could feel that. I could feel his emotions perfectly.Blame the mate bond for that, but I instinctively hugged him lightly, only to comfort him and his wolf. His wolf, Velan, was also scared."Thank Goddess, you are safe." he mumbled repeatedly while holding me tightly. His voice was still shaking. I felt safe in his embrace.I felt overwhelmed by his worry and fear for me a
Alexander’s P.O.V.Only I knew what it took me to keep myself calm all the way to the hospital. The person who mind-linked me earlier reported me every two minutes, but those two minutes were like hell. And the time that we took to reach the hospital was like an eternity.“You should have marked her that night. This way, we could have sensed the changes in her emotions at any time.” Velan continued grumbling the same thing restlessly during the whole ride.I wanted to yell at him, but he wasn’t wrong.I hated her for not waiting for me and choosing Cody. But I also loved her deeply, goddess!!!!!That hurt like hell.I was on pins and needles all the time until we reached the hospital.I jumped out of the running car and dashed towards the entrance without thinking much. All I could think about was her.Is she the one who was attacked? Is she okay? Is she badly injured? Why the hell do they let her go to difficult wards? My breath hitched, and I stopped in my tracks abruptly when a ver
