Chapter 9: Something About Him

“So, what do you want to know?” Elliott said. His legs were crossed along with his arms too. He was staring at me with an idiotic smile on his lips.

Both of us were separated by a round golden glass table. Elliott was sitting in the front, the left portion, and I was on the right. There’s a running fountain behind him. My hands are put together above my legs, and I was also staring at him eagerly.

I wonder why he brings me to this place. Birds chirping above us, and we are surrounded by different types of green plants. Probably, we’re inside the greenhouse while sitting and staring at each other’s faces endlessly.

Actually, I think that this greenhouse was still part of the house. When we left earlier, we didn’t go where Reign went to go out. Instead, we take the path on the opposite side to the entrance. We didn’t go out neither saw the clouds or the environment.

I just knew that we’re already here, but I remember we took a long path just to come here, and I don’t know why I can’t even remember the way.

Also, I never thought I would wake up in such a vast place. What else do I need to know that a trillionaire bought me? If that’s the case, it’s already apparent. Well, I can’t still believe that a trillion dollars really exist. To see is to think, and that’s the most valid proof in the world.

If about that Reign’s attitude, I already have a clue, but I think there’s more. Something more dangerous, and why would I bother to think about it? I’m not interested anyway.

“Is this the date you mentioned?”  I asked to clear out the current thing that entered my mind.

“Don’t tell me...” he adjusted his seat and placed his hands aggressively on the table without breaking off his eyes on me. I was a little bit surprised since his actions moved the table. I looked at him curiously, “Are you disappointed?”

“Huh?”

“I mean, are you disappointed that we are dating here? Did you expect a lot more romantic with roses on the floor and candles on the table?” He then frowned. I almost choked with my own saliva. What would I do with this man?

His actions were bizarre. I’m not even his friend, so why act like this? I hope that Reign brought me along to wherever he is going than to deal with this one. For a week? Oh, C’mon! I’m not gonna stay here for that long.

“There’s no reason for me to feel disappointment. You said that if I go on a date with you, you will answer everything I want to know. You know, I’m just really desperate to get out of here. If dating with you can help me, then I will do everything,”

He removed his hands above the table then again, looked at me seriously. I just did the same thing to him. I wanted him to see how desperate I am.

That I’m not just bluffing or anything else. I’m not also the kind of person that takes any situation as a joke.

“You are planning to get out of this place?” He asked. His tone was not like before. I can’t explain it, but I think this topic is more important than his life. It feels like if he messes this up, someone will mess with him too.

I nodded, “That’s the reason why I agreed to date you,” I answered. Elliott chuckles bitterly. What’s his problem?

“You do have the guts to leave this place,” I don’t know if that’s a statement or a warning. I looked at Elliott. He’s weird, but now,  I admit that he’s hard to read, “Yes, I might be an idiotic man, but I can read what’s on your mind, and you can’t read what’s on my mind,” he added.

What is he, someone with clairvoyance?

“If that’s the case, why bother asking me about what I wanted to know? If you knew, then answer me directly,” I said to him sarcastically. He then looks at me seriously.

“Actually, I really wanted to know more about you. Especially, I wish that someday, I can talk to you, but I never expected you’d be this kind of woman. Why would Reign leave you to me? This is so frustrating!” he said, then slumped his body into the chair, telling me how disappointed he is.

He already has expectations from me? How come? This is the first time we saw each other. Whatever it is, I don’t care. I only care for one thing, and that is getting out myself from this place.

“I never wished to be taken care of by you either,” I said, then crossed my arms over my chest. Elliott just throws a look at me then shifted it on his right side. He told me earlier that Reign is his cousin. Not literally told me. What I mean is I knew that he was Reign’s cousin since he said it earlier.

In regards to that, just by looking at him right now, he seems like a bit like Reign. I’m not staring nor doing it purposely, but what else can I do? He’s sitting in front of me, so I have no choice to examine his presence accidentally.

He has this pointed nose like his cousin, browned hair, white skin tone, and long eyelashes. The only difference between them is the eye color, but his face reminds some of Reign. If Reign has a blue color, then Elliott has this ash one.

I secretly shrugged my head. What the hell am I thinking? Comparing them is not my habit.

I heard him let out a deep sigh, “Stop what you are planning and then wait for Reign’s decision,” he said, then stands.

“I don’t need someone’s permission to make a move. No one even asked me if I wanted to be here. I just woke up finding myself in this unfamiliar place, but now, I need to go out. I have a home on my own. I have things to do. School and work,” I said, then raised my eyes on him since he was standing. It feels like he was above me. I didn’t notice his height either.

“You don’t know anything,” he said with a calm voice, but it feels like he was suppressing to shout.

“I only wanted to know one thing in the first place,” I said, then stood up. With the rounded table separating us, I can still clearly see the gap in our height. The tip on my head was only lined on his shoulder.

“Yes! And that was getting out of this place! C’mon! I said, forget about that plan of yours,” he then messes with his own hair, turning his back on me.

“No one can tell me what to do because I own myself,”

“It’s Reign’s order, so you need to follow, and,” he then turned his back again to my direction, “he buys you in that auction,” I raised my left brow while looking at him. I don’t know what’s the reason or why I’m even arguing with this guy right now, but yes, I’m getting pissed.

Also, I don’t know why I got abducted. I can’t even think nor remember having debt on someone. Since sometimes, the reason behind abductions was unpaid debts.

Yes, I’m poor, but I strive harder to earn money for my own daily needs. I don’t ask people for help or put debt on myself.

Money is everything to survive in this world, and I’m doing my very best to get the hang of it. If this is a criminal doing, then they have bad taste, or the mastermind behind this had the wrong person on their list.

“I just wanted to get out of here!” I hissed. Yes, that damn Reign buys me in that auction. I can’t forget what he did, but no one asks him to do so.

“He helped you to get out of that pla--”

“And just to lock me here?” I cut his words.

He messes again with his hair and then walks back and forth. I don’t know, but he was scared or something. There might be a reason why but I don’t care. I have something important left on the outside. Not the job or school, but most important than myself.

“You don’t know him, so just wait for him until he comes back. Don’t do what was on your mind. It’s for your own sake too. Just listen,” his voice was trying to convince me. But whatever it is, I don’t really care! I don’t care about other people. All I care about is get out of this place and go home.

“Why would you stop me from getting out of this place?” He exhaled deeply and composed his self.

“Because Reign is ruthless than a devil,”
