The driver drove the car into the estate again, and Jack had already opened the door in haste and jumped out before the driver could park the car in the front of the mansion. He rushed into the house and his eyes widened when he saw some people taking out a body that was already covered with a white linen. Jack almost stumbled at the sight but managed to hold himself. He then slowly walked towards those people and ordered them to drop the body on the floor. “But sir....”“I said drop my mother's body on the floor!” Jack gritted out and everyone turned to look at him before they slowly lowered the covered body to the floor. “Leave me alone with her.” Jack added and he was all alone with the corpse in seconds. He lowered himself down on his knees, his eyes already red and leaking out tears. “No, this...this can't be...” He shook his head before he reached to hold the cloth from the end and pulled down the linen and his heart withered upon seeing Mariana's pale face. Nothing had reall
Jack was shocked by the revelation. He couldn't stop looking at Mrs Davis. He had a twin brother who died in the accident and he was never informed about it? He wondered why he didn't know about this. His shocked expression suddenly grew fierce and anger took over. “Why didn't anyone tell me about this, huh?!” Jack slammed his fist on the kitchen island. “I had a brother and nobody thought to inform me about it? I might have lost my memories but still I fucking deserved to know that my brother died in that accident with me. So that flashback I had wasn't some dream, it was my memories of the accident, and I was the one driving the damn car!....” Jack shook his head and realized that his father had lied to him. “Please relax, Jack....i...I didn't want you to find out like this....” Mrs Davis covered her mouth and shook her head. Jack inhaled and exhaled before he stormed out of the kitchen. He didn't near the staircase and just shot for the door. He didn't want to know about his mot
Jack was driving through the calm streets of Louisiana. The streets brought back distinct memories and even though he didn't quite recall a lot of things, somehow he still felt that he knew this place. Though it also felt that he didn't really grow up here. He drove his car into the estate and rounded a tall massive water fountain before halting the car in front of a mansion. He switched off the gear, took out the keys and opened the door before he stepped out. He wore his dark shades because of the scorching sun and looked down to his phone. He had texted Ana a while ago and she hadn't yet responded. She informed him last night regarding taking a friend out on a tour of Manhattan. He then shoved his phone into his pants pocket and looked up only to smile when Mrs Davis was on her way to meet with him. “Hello, Mrs Davis.” Jack came to share a hug with her. “Welcome, my boy. It's been a while since you last visited.” Mrs Davis was an elderly woman in her early 60s. She had been work
Ana stepped out through the door with Jack tailing right behind her. She turned around and smiled at Jack who couldn't stop staring madly at her. He leaned on the doorframe with both his hands in his sweatpants pockets and simply stared at her. “I'll...go now.” Ana cut off the silence before she was about to walk towards the elevator when Jack called out to her. “You never responded to my proposal, Anastasia.” Ana didn't turn around to look at him again. She simply inhaled and exhaled before uttering. “I...I need to think about it.” With that she quickly walked to the elevator, pressed on the button and stepped in once the elevator doors opened. She still had her back on him and only turned to rest her back against the elevator walls once the doors had closed. She couldn't stop thinking about Jack's proposal of her coming to live with him. That was another boundary entirely. And the fact that she was already sleeping with a married man was guilt-tripping enough. Coming to live wi
Ana was very surprised when she heard what Jack had just asked her. She was a little stiff in her position and didn't respond and only continued to stare at the beautiful aluminum wall in front of her. Jack felt her body react stiffly against him and only kissed her shoulder once more and hugged her close. “You don't have to answer that, and I guess I was out of line for putting you in such a position with that question....” Ana now turned to face him and shook her head. “No, I mean....what you asked was just...shocking to me, you know. We...we don't really know each other that well....” Jack smiled and rubbed his thumb on her mouth. “On the contrary, I feel like I've known you for all my life, Anastasia.” His words made Ana to plup out a smile before she stared at his smooth chest. Her eyes caught on that deep scar or was it more like a wound. It looked like burns and she then looked up to Jack who's eyes were still on her like she was the most mesmerizing thing he had ever looked
Ana inhaled as she felt herself heating up the moment Jack had started to kiss her. She got her hands around his neck and melted in his embrace. This feeling, this warmth, Ana knew she loved this man, regardless of who he was. Jack pulled away softly, and couldn't help but gaze into her green eyes and run his finger down on her cheek. “I was worried, Anastasia. You suddenly disappeared from the hospital yesterday, and you didn't even respond to my calls or texts.” Ana looked away for a moment. “Your wife was there, remember?” Jack shook his head, with his one hand still wrapped around her waist. “You know I don't care about my wife, Anastasia.” He inched closer and Ana gulped feeling his warm breath on her lips. “She was only there just for the sake of it. She didn't even stay long enough.” Ana looked at him, thinking he was lying to her. “That wasn't the impression she gave me outside your room. She sounded like she was very worried about you.” “Trust me, she didn't stay long.
