Mag-log inChapter 5
{Clumsy Me} Gold’s POV I was at home earlier when I spotted Ava’s boss’s boyfriend’s car parked in front of their apartment. It struck me as odd that he was there so early in the morning. Curious and a bit protective, I made an excuse to my mom about checking up on Ava, figuring I’d take her along to the place I was planning to go for some fun. My mom gave me the green light, and I rushed over. By the time I reached her door, the boyfriend had already driven off. For a second, I thought about turning back, but I decided to go in anyway. Ava is never boring; she’s exactly the person you want around for a day of girls' fun and gossip. I knocked and waited for her to let me in. When she opened the door, I found her engrossed in a show about celebrity lifestyles. I playfully nudged her aside and walked right in. “Gold?” she gasped, sounding genuinely startled. She immediately started peering over my shoulder, craning her neck as if she were looking for someone else. “Why do you look so shocked to see me?” I asked, pushing past her into the living room. “I just thought it was Madam Nada,” she replied, quickly shutting the door behind us. “Did she go out?” I asked. Ava nodded. “Then why didn't you come over while she was away?” I stood there with my hands on my hips. “I was just tired, honestly. I wasn't expecting you to show up,” she said sincerely. We both settled into separate armchairs. I could sense that something might have happened between her and her boss—or someone else—but I wasn't going to pry if she wasn't ready to talk. “What’s the move? Should we go out?” I asked. She shook her head. “I didn't tell Madam Nada I’d be leaving the house.” She stood up to grab me a bottle of water. “So just text her,” I suggested, rolling my eyes. “Tell her you’re coming out with me.” “I’ll call her to see if she’s coming back first. If she says she’s staying out, I’ll go,” she said, handing me the water. “I don’t think that’s the best way to handle it,” I countered. “What if she finds out you only called to ask for permission to leave? If she needs something urgently from the house later, what will you say?” Ava went quiet, clearly weighing my words. I passed her phone to her, and she dialed the number. It took three rings before Madam Nada picked up; I could hear a wall of noise in the background. “Are you still coming home?” Ava asked. The connection was choppy, but I heard the response. “I’m not coming home tonight, Ava. I’ll send one of the girls over later to pick up my breakfast.” “I... I want to go out with Gold today,” Ava mumbled. “Did you know about this beforehand?” Nada asked. Ava swallowed hard, looking at me. “No.” “You’re free to go,” Nada said, her voice laced with a hint of worry. “Just don't walk the streets alone, and make sure you aren't out late at night.” “Okay!” Ava chirped, her mood doing a complete 180. The call ended. “Yeeesss!” she screamed, breaking into a frantic victory dance around the living room. “Go and get dressed!” I yelled over her cheering. That stopped the dancing immediately; she bolted to her room to change. I sat back, waiting for her, when my eyes caught something on the armchair she had just vacated. I stood up and walked over to the white upholstery, squinting at the faint marks. This isn't what I think it is, right? I whispered to myself. I quickly moved back to my seat, deciding to act like I hadn't seen anything. She’s old enough to make her own choices, but the thought of it being her boss’s boyfriend made my skin crawl. A few minutes later, she emerged wearing a black flared mini-skirt, a green crop top, and matching green Nike sneakers. “We are set!” she shouted, throwing her arms up. “Switch off the electronics first,” I reminded her. She nodded, clicking off the TV and checking the appliances before we headed out. I watched her lock the door, and we made our way out of the compound. We hailed a cab, and I gave the driver our destination. “The water park? Isn't that place really expensive?” Ava asked, her eyes wide. I just nodded. “You should have told me! I would have packed my swimsuit.” She pouted, and I gave her a playful roll of the eyes. “Why do you think it’s so expensive, Ava? Everything we need is provided when we get there. It’s a 'classics' spot, so let’s just act the part.” I giggled, and she gave me a wink. We both spent the ride scrolled through our phones. “Still obsessed with Mar—” “Correction: I am not obsessed,” she interrupted, emphasizing every syllable. “I am a dedicated fan, Gold.” “Okay, okay,” I muttered, laughing. When we finally arrived at the water park, I was blown away. It was my first time seeing a place like this in person. We paid the driver and I linked my arm with Ava’s. “We are going to have so much fun!” she screamed, causing several people to turn and look. “Oh! Sorry!” she apologized, bowing slightly as people smiled at her enthusiasm. We walked up to the payment counter to check in, but the clerk stopped us. “Your admission and all expenses have already been covered,” he said. Ava’s laugh turned a bit nervous. I was floored. We had only just arrived—who on earth would have paid for us in advance? “Don’t you think this is a little weird?” I whispered in her ear. Ava just shrugged it off. “Who cares? It’s paid for. Let’s just have fun!” she said, her worries disappearing as she pulled me toward the slides.Chapter 16The Breaking PointAuthor POVNo words were exchanged as they stripped away the last of their barriers, their lips locked in a feverish, desperate kiss. Dalton stood before her, his muscles taut beneath his skin, while Nadaline remained in her lace bra and panties. With a deft flick of his fingers, he unhooked her bra, letting it fall to their feet. He finally broke the kiss, but his mouth didn't go far. He trailed a path of fire down her neck to her shoulder before finally centering his attention on her breasts.“Just a week without you feels like a lifetime. I’ve missed you so much,” he groaned. He looked up, his eyes dark with a primal hunger that met her own desire-filled gaze. His thumbs began to circle her nipples, teasing them until they peaked, sending a rush of goosebumps across her skin.“I’ve missed you more,” Nadaline breathed. She threaded her fingers through his hair, her body humming with a desperate, electric lust.Dalton leaned forward, taking one swollen n
Chapter 15Breaking PointAuthor POVThe weight of the accusations hung heavy in the air. The argument had left Nadaline emotionally shattered, slumped on the living room floor. She took a shuddering breath, sniffing back tears as she wiped her face. With trembling hands, she smoothed her hair, gathered her belongings, and stood up.She paused briefly in front of Ava’s door, hearing the faint sound of sobbing from within. A deep sigh escaped her—part guilt, part exhaustion. Retreating to her own room, she sat on the edge of the bed and dialed the one person who could distract her from the pain.“Babe,” Nadaline whispered when he picked up.“Babe? What’s wrong with your voice?” Dalton’s tone was instantly guarded and worried.“Can you satisfy me?” she asked bluntly, already reaching for her makeup to mask the tear streaks.Dalton let out a low, breathy laugh. “Yeah. I’m at the office. Will you come over?”“I’m on my way.” She hung up without another word. She moved with purpose, click
Chapter 14 Can You Get CCTV? Ava’s POV“Madam Nadaline,” I called softly. She hummed in response, her eyes still fixed on me as I stood in front of the refrigerator, pretending to look for something that wasn’t there.“I want to tell you something important,” I said finally, my voice unusually serious.“Something important?” she repeated, her expression shifting immediately.“Hm.”She patted the space beside her, signaling me to sit.I walked toward her slowly. For a few seconds, I just stood there, unsure if I should really say anything. I was still debating whether I should tell her the truth about what happened between her stepbrother and me. But then I remembered her boyfriend… the man who had taken away her innocence.“Ava.”Her voice pulled me back.I looked at her. She was already watching me closely.“What the hell is wrong with you, Ava?” she asked, worry written all over her face.I blinked several times and let out a shaky breath.“Is it… okay for a nineteen-year-old gi
Chapter 13The Darker Side of BloodAva’s POVA light gasp escaped my lips. I shouldn't have let her explain everything to me, I thought, frantically wiping away fresh tears. The air in the room felt heavy, like it was pressing against my chest."The news was too much for my mum,” Nada continued, her voice hollow. "It took a toll on Lucky too, but my stepmother... she was just angry that my dad died because my younger brother was 'bored.' My mum was hospitalised that night. She couldn't handle the shock. She passed away before morning. I was left alone with those cruel bastards."She paused and burst into tears again, the sound raw and jagged. "This is why I didn't want to tell you, Ava! It's too broken. It hurts too much. Everything happened so fast."She yelled out in pain, and my hands trembled as I reached out to pull her closer. My heart was breaking. The world suddenly felt suffocatingly hot."I buried them all," she whispered. "My mum, my dad, my brother. I was alone. A few we
Chapter 12(Shattered Heritage)Ava’s POV“You are lying, Ava!”Her voice was like a blade of ice. Goosebumps erupted along my arms, and a frantic surge of adrenaline made my heart hammer against my ribs like a trapped bird. My breath hitched, coming in shallow, jagged gasps. I couldn't stop the reflexive shaking of my head, my mind spinning into a void of panic.Tears blurred my vision, pooling in the corners of my eyes. I didn't even realize I had drifted away mentally until I felt her hand firm against my lap, anchoring me back to the sofa.“What happened, Ava?” she asked, her voice softening as she sat beside me.“You said... you said I was lying,” I sputtered, my voice trembling. She nodded slowly. “You can open up to me, Ava. Whatever happened between you and Lucky... in a way, it’s my fault.”“It’s not,” I muttered, looking away, the weight of my secrets crushing me. “It’s mine. I shouldn't have followed him. I should have known better than to trust a stranger.”“In that sense,
Chapter 11 (The Weight of Silence)Nadaline’s POVMy instincts told me he wasn’t done using Ava as a pawn, but hearing him call her a "diamond" made my skin crawl. What could a monster like him possibly want with her? I looked him dead in the eye and gave him a sharp, jagged middle finger.“In your dreams. She won't—and never will—be yours,” I hissed, my voice trembling with a fury I couldn't suppress.“Why do you sound so scared, Nada?” he mocked, his voice trailing after me as he sauntered back to the armchair I had occupied. I didn’t give him the satisfaction of a reply. I turned on my heel and threw the door open, desperate for air that didn't smell like him.The crowd outside had thinned, leaving only a few obsessed, adamant reporters lurking near the exit. My patience was non-existent. When the flashes started hitting my face, I snapped.“Don’t we deserve some privacy?!” I screamed. I didn't care about my reputation in that moment. I lunged at the nearest camera, the plastic cr
