Chapter 8 Deep Entanglement

Haley was one hundred percent sure that the man was Ivan.

But why did he deny it?

She replayed the scene in her mind and then her face turned dark.

Did Mr. Winston think she was using Angela to intentionally get close to him?

Could people not be so self-centered?

Haley rolled her eyes very ungracefully.

She looked down at her daughter in her arms, only to find that Angela's eyes were still staring straight at Ivan's car.

She was slightly surprised and said, "Angela, do you recognize that man? Who was that the person just now?"

However, the little girl did not react to her question at all.

It wasn't until the car disappeared on the road that Angela turned her gaze back and obediently hugged Haley's neck.

Haley looked at the driver's hand back and felt guilty: "I'm sorry, Angela sometimes bites people when she gets impatient. Let me take you to the hospital to put some medicine on it..."

The driver waved his hand and said, "It's normal for children to bite people. My son also bites me often. It's alright, Ms. DeRoss, get on the car quickly."

Haley sighed.

She had been trying to correct Angela's habit, but the effect was minimal...

The car continued to drive and soon stopped at the door of the Martínez Group.

Haley sent the two children into the lounge and instructed Todd to take good care of his sister before entering the office.

Today, Justin Martínez, the oldest cousin in the Martínez family, was going to implant the chip for her.

Justin went abroad to study when he was eight years old and only returned to the country once a year. Haley was not familiar with him four years ago.

But it had to be admitted that Justin's abilities were remarkable, otherwise he would not have stood out among the dozens of younger generation in the Martínez family.

"Haley, let me see the code of the chip first."

Justin got straight to business and started talking about work as soon as they met.

Haley didn't fall behind either. She sat in front of the computer and her pure white fingers swiftly typed on the keyboard.

Soon, a page of code was typed out from her fingertips.

Justin was also a programmer.

As soon as he saw the string of code on the screen, he was stunned.

His cousin actually wrote the most complex program with the simplest C language!

If they optimized the chip using this code, their product from the Martínez Group would surely dominate the market.

No wonder his father was eager to sign the contract.

"Justin, I've already entered the optimized code into the computer system. We just need to connect to your internal..."

Haley calmly explained everything, not missing even the smallest details.

Justin looked at her with a few more appreciative glances. "If this product succeeds, you will have played a significant role."

Haley smiled slightly. "It's because my uncle and you are willing to believe in me that this chip has a chance to see the light of day, don't you think?"

However, Justin shook his head.

He was certain that there were many companies secretly contacting Haley.

Even without the Martínez family, countless companies would be rushing to collaborate with Haley.

The reason they, the Martínez family, got this chance was because Haley was a Martínez.

Miss DeRoss? Emily DeRoss?

Yes, indeed, the DeRoss Group was initially established with the great support of the Martínez family.

The two companies have a deep entanglement.

Although the Martínez family and the DeRoss family had an unpleasant falling out four years ago, it is not an easy task to completely separate in the business world.

Haley turned her head and asked, "Cousin, what kind of business cooperation is still going on between the Martínez family and the DeRoss family?"

"The DeRoss family wants a piece of the pie in this smart product, and they have always wanted to continue working with us," Justin said, "but the DeRoss family hasn't shown enough sincerity, so my father is hesitant and the contract hasn't been signed yet."

Haley's finger tapped on the table, "Cousin, if you trust me, can you let me handle this?"

She looked up with calm and serene eyes.

But Justin could imagine what lay behind this calmness.

Last night, he had already heard from his grandmother about what happened four years ago. For Haley, the DeRoss family had vowed to kill her.

If there were no casualties in between, the Martínez family could turn a blind eye and continue to cooperate with the DeRoss family.

But now, two bloody lives were caught in the middle.

Even if he didn't have any emotional connection with this cousin, he couldn't just ignore it.

Justin said in a low voice, "Haley, you are the technical partner of this project, and you have the right to decide everything. I'll leave this matter to you."

"Thank you, cousin."

Haley breathed a sigh of relief.

At this moment, in the waiting area.

Emily leaned back on the sofa, her face full of impatience.

She had been waiting for twenty minutes, and the Martínez family dared to leave her hanging without sending someone to accompany her.

The Martínez family! The despicable family of that woman, Haley! She would never want to have any contact with anyone from the Martínez family!

But there was no other way...

Now, she was the heiress of the DeRoss family, and the DeRoss Group was declining. Therefore, her starting point for everything she did had to prioritize considering the company.

If Ivan is willing to reveal her identity, that would be great.

I'm sure countless people would come to flatter her.

But Ivan ordered her not to disclose anything about the children, and not to have any involvement with the Winston family.

In other words, despite successfully convincing Ivan that she is the children's mother, she has not gained any benefits from the Winston family.

She is absolutely furious!

Emily angrily finishes her coffee in one gulp, and outside the door, the sound of high heels can be heard.
