Caleb’s POV Standing outside my cabin door with my forehead pressed against the coldness of the big oak door as I tried to steady my breathing. I had almost lost control of my wolf as I stared into her eyes. Eyes that I had prayed to the Moon Goddess every night after I had found her would open. The girl had the most breathtaking ice blue eyes I have ever seen. I found myself unable to pull away from their gaze and I was losing myself to her. I wanted nothing more in this world but to mark her as mine but unfortunately, she doesn’t even know she is a wolf. Or is she? When I had found her, I could smell a faint scent of a wolf on her but as time went on the scent dwindled and not even a hint of a wolf remained. I wondered if the accident could have caused her to not only lose her memory but also her wolf. Wolf or no wolf I knew the minute I picked her up off the ground and held her in my arms that she was my mate and I had to save her life. Now standing here alone I stand on my own
Ella’s POV Holding on to Caleb’s wolf I felt alive as he easily weaved us through the forest. His wolf was big, and I knew he could easily carry me, but I didn’t realize how powerful his wolf was until I was on his back. When I had seen his wolf through the bedroom window it startled a memory. A memory I can’t quite put all together but a memory of myself on the back of a midnight black wolf that was slightly bigger than Caleb’s. Both wolves were black, but Caleb’s wolf had a small speck of white on his head between his eyes. When the wolf approach the window and I looked into its eyes I knew right away it was Caleb and I was not afraid but felt a whirlwind of emotions hit me and I felt lightheaded. It was like my mind brought forth knowledge of what I was and what he was and that this was my world. Although when I reached inside to try and find my wolf nothing was there. Was my wolf too weak to respond from everything that I went through in the accident? I had no answers at this tim
Ella’s POV Stepping out of the bathroom after finding Kate had fully stocked my drawers with everything from makeup to perfume, I looked into the mirror on the back of the closet door. The sexy little black dress looked amazing on me, and it fit like a glove. I was sure Caleb was going to like what he sees. My hair was pinned up exposing my neck and I went a little heavy on my makeup since the dress was making me feel sexy. I topped the look off with a pair of black stilettos that surprisingly weren’t killing my feet. Touching the corner of my lip I wiped a small smudge of the red lipstick and puckered my lips one last time before heading to the living room to meet Caleb. As I entered the living room, I felt my breath hitch as I took in Caleb. He was dressed in a pair of black slacks with a royal blue dress shirt that he had left the top four buttons undone so his muscular physic could show. Caleb had his hair slicked back away from his face and looked like he belonged on the cover
Ella’s POV The weekend ended up going by way to fast as all my time was spent getting to know Caleb. I was truly starting to fall head over heels for him in such a small period of time. I know the mate bond has something to do with the pull I feel towards him, but I also can see the kindhearted man in front of me. Friday night after the date to the Italian restaurant we needed the night with a make out session on the couch and I can still feel his strong arm wrapped around my body. The hardest part of that night was telling him goodnight and heading to my own bedroom although I found myself falling quick to sleep after the eventfully first day I had with him. Saturday Caleb told me he wasn’t quite ready to share me with the rest of his old pack, so we went for another run and curled up together in front of the fireplace that night and just talked and yes made out some more. Caleb confessed so much to me this night and I felt like I got to know the real Caleb. I couldn’t believe whe
Ella’s POV “So how formal is this celebration on Saturday?” I asked Kate as we drove to go shopping for dresses. “Well, it’s pretty formal. We only have celebrations so many times a year, so we try and go all out for them.” Kate said as she kept her eyes on the road. Somehow Kate had snuck the keys of Caleb’s black Land Rover and I wondered if she did this all the time. I could tell that Caleb had a soft spot for his little sister and he would do just about anything for her. “So how are things going between you and my brother?” Kate asks looking over at me raising her eyebrow. “Good.” I said making my answer short. I didn’t really want to give the details to Caleb’s baby sister. “That good ha?” She laughs. “No. It really is going good. I just, I don’t know. I want to take things slow. It’s hard not knowing who I am, and I wish I could get my memories back, so I knew who I was before the accident.” I tell her trying to make sense of it myself. “Sweetie I’m going to be up
Caleb’s POV Sitting on the old rocking chair that sat on my front porch I waited for my sister and my mate to return. The sun had already set, and I remember specifically telling Kate to be home before dark. I honestly don’t know why I even waste my breath telling her anything because she never does what I tell her. Kate is about the only person that doesn’t listen to me and being my baby sister, I cut her more then enough slack. The moon is shining brighter with the approach of the full moon on Saturday, and I was for once in my life becoming excited for the celebration due to having a mate this year to be by my side. She hadn’t fully committed to the whole let’s mate yet but after the office experience today I was sure she was starting to come around. Afterwards I had returned to the training area where my men were looking at me with suspicion and I knew why. I have no clue how my little mate took down my stepbrother like she did. There were only a few reasons for it and withou
Ella’s POV Every day I spend with Caleb, I find myself falling more for him. I find my heart skipping beats when I feel his eyes on me trying to steal glances and when we get small moments together and our bodies touch it takes all I must to resist the pull of the mate bond and walk away. It is getting harder each day to not to give into the temptation of what is growing between us. The two hours that we get to spend together each morning training has been adding to the passion growing between us. The way our bodies move in sync anticipating each other’s next move is like a choreographed dance that has been practiced for months. I noticed that when we are not training my body is starting to react in the same way and I feel myself being drawn to Caleb. Caleb has been very patient with me and giving me the time, I asked for to figure out who I am, but nothing has come back to me other than my abilities to protect myself. It’s been a week now since I woke from the coma and Caleb has
Hunter’s POV Six months that’s how long it has been since I held my beautiful mate in my arms. I’ve lost track of the number of breakdowns that I have had and if it wasn’t for Ella’s father, I probably would never have survived the loss of her. The pain my heart felt that day would have killed a normal wolf but a surge of power that was stronger than anything I have ever encountered entered my body and gave me the strength I needed to survive the pain. The power has stayed within me since that day, and I want to believe that it is a part of Ella showing me her love for me that is never ending even in death. The council had dropped all charges against Chance, and I had to get my revenge on him through war, but the snake had gotten away when I took Blue Moon with little casualties. Unfortunately, Ella’s best friend Samantha’s mate Seth had perished in the war and now our families and elders are trying to get us to mate since she is the next in line by rank. I wasn’t ready to move on
