Chapter 5

Rayne’s POV

Turning my body around I noticed Emma and Ethan getting down together and I was wondering if love was in the air tonight. I continued to sway my hips but when I looked over my shoulder Reese was gone from his spot and my heart sank but I kept on dancing until I felt a set of hands on me.

I didn’t have to turn around to see whose hands were on me. My body instantly began to shiver to his touch as his one hand rested on my exposed abdomen pulling me in closer to him. As I continued to sway my hips to the song Feel It, I leaned my body back into him just enough that I felt my back just barely touching him. I heard what sounded like a growl come from him and decided to lean my head back against his chest still swaying my hips getting lost in the abyss of ecstasy from his touch and the beat of the music.

His other hand came around me and he placed it right above my breast as his hand gently wrapped around my neck. My neck rolled against his chest to the new sensation of his touch and I ached my back as I breathed in and his hand moved higher on my neck, and I could feel the tips of his fingers graze my ear. My body instantly melted back into his hold like I was caught in a state of hypnosis giving myself over to whatever he wanted.

Warm heat from his breath I could now feel against my neck and my head tilted ever so to the side wanting more. Soft lips grazed my skin just above my collarbone followed by his moist tongue. My heart began to race when I felt him nibble a sensitive spot I didn’t Know existed and I wondered if the alcohol I consumed played a role in how foreign my body felt at this moment.

Lust started to consume every molecule of my being and I never wanted anyone this much until now. Lifting my arms above my head I wrapped them around his neck as I took a handful of his hair between my fingers and gently tugged. His lips vibrated on my skin as it earned me what sounded like something between a moan and a growl.

This may have been a high school fantasy of mine but right now this was real. Every touch, kiss, and nimble was real and my body ached for him. As the band continued to play and the words of the song were ever so true because all I ever wanted was you.

The song came to an end and a slow song began and Reese turned me to face him and our eyes met. “Rayne.” He said in a husky voice that sent shivers down my spine.

“Reese.” I replied to him like I was short of breath as I ran my fingers through the hair on his nape.

“You came back.” Reese said as he licked his lips.

“Just for the weekend.” I say as I lick my lips and then bite my bottom lip.

Reese’s eyes were glued to my lips and I wondered if he was thinking about kissing me as he leaned towards me I heard a crash and we both turned to look in the direction of the crash. The girl that was trying to talk to Reese earlier was causing a scene and Eric was trying to hold her back from coming our way. Was she Reese’s girlfriend? I heard Shawn say, “Get Kera out of here.”

“Kera.” I thought to myself and then I remembered she was a year below me in school and she was always following Reese around. I felt like an idiot because he was obviously dating Kera and I just danced with him like a slut. I’d be mad too if I was her.

Quickly I moved away from Reese while he was distracted by Kera’s outburst and went to the table to get my coat. “I’m not feeling so good can you give me a ride back to the cabin?” I asked Emma.

“Sure.” Emma said looking from Ethan to me.

“I’ll give you a minute. I’ll be at the jeep waiting.” I tell her as I leave the bar and go outside in the winter crisp air as snow fell from the night sky.

The cool air felt good after being in the hot stuffy bar and I welcomed the fresh air into my lungs. I couldn’t believe that I just flirted with a taken man. I felt so bad and I hoped I didn’t mess anything up in their relationship.

Leaning against the jeep I looked around and took in the peacefulness of the night. Even though I could still hear the muffled sound of the band it was everything else that was quiet. Closing my eyes I tilted my head back against the jeep realizing I may have had a few too many.

I heard what sound like footsteps coming my way I figured that it was Emma but then the footsteps got louder like someone was running in my direction. Opening my eyes, I saw a big brown wolf charging at me and I turned trying to open the door but remembered the door was locked. I began to run in the opposite direction of the wolf when I looked back over my shoulder the wolf leaped into the air and knock me to the ground, I felt pain in my back where the wolf clawed at me and then I let out a scream when the wolf bit my arm.

Blood started to paint the snow around me and at that moment I thought I was going to die because the wolf wasn’t giving up and then I heard the sound of a low growl that shook the earth beneath me and the wolf on my back disappeared.

I could tell I was losing a lot of blood because I became instantly weak. The last thing I heard was my name.
