The morning after the Ridge pack’s latest attack, Silverwood was drenched in an eerie stillness. The sounds of the forest birds, rustling leaves, and distant howls seemed muted as if the land itself was holding its breath. Lyla stood on the porch of her home, staring into the woods, her thoughts a tangled mess.

The battle had shaken her, but what haunted her more was the realization that she was still an outsider in the Blackwood pack. Despite her growing connection to Eli and her training, some of the pack still saw her as a liability. After the power she had felt during her last encounter with the silver wolf, she began questioning her place not only within the pack but also in the larger mystery of Silverwood itself.

Eli found Lyla just after noon. He was shirtless, wearing only sweatpants, his muscular frame streaked with dirt and scars from the previous night’s fight. His face, usually calm, was tight with worry.
