Rain was idly listening to Jax and Alpha Tim's discussion when Damien’s hand closed around his wrist, pulling him away from the noise and chatter.

They slipped into an empty corner behind one of the buildings.

“I missed you so much,” Damien whispered against his ear.

Rain’s chest tightened. “I missed you too.”

Rita’s back sank into the mattress, the faint rustle of the sheets loud in the quiet room.Stefan braced his hands on either side of her, his dark eyes locked on hers as if searching for a reason to stop, but finding none. Her fingers found their way into his hair, tugging lightly, pulling him closer until their lips met again. This time, the kiss was slower, deeper, as if they were both memorizing the feel of each other. His weight lowered onto her, their bodies aligning perfectly, warmth pressing against warmth. His hand slid along her side, tracing the curve of her waist, pausing when he felt the quick beat of her heart beneath his palm. He lingered there, as though that sound alone grounded him. She exhaled softly, leaning into his touch.“Stefan…” she breathed, her voice almost a whisper, her fingers curling against his shirt. He kissed the corner of her mouth, her cheek, then her jaw, moving unhurriedly. Every brush of his

Stefan’s jaw was still tight as they left the throne room. Rita could feel the anger in him with every step he took. Rita walked beside him silently, her fingers fiddling with the edge of her torn sleeve. After a while, her voice came softly, she was careful not to make him even more angrier. “Stefan… can you take me outside?”He stopped walking and turned to look at her, his brows knitting. “Why?”She looked away, hugging her arms around herself. “I need to shift so I can heal.”For a few seconds, he just stared at her. Then he nodded. He led her through the back corridors of the palace onto the quiet training fields behind the castle. Stefan walked to the edge and sat down on a flat stone, arms folded across his chest. He kept an eye on her. Rita stepped forward, took a deep breath, and shifted. Her bones cracked and reshaped. Fur covered her skin. Then there she was in her wolf form.A sleek, deep red wolf stood in the moonlight, eyes glowing. Her coat shimmered in the dark, a

Rain lay on his old bed, staring up at the wooden ceiling of his room. The last time he slept in this room, Damien had been with him, holding him close against his side and loving him.
