"Are you mad?" Rina asked her sister.

"Calm down Rina and think about it." Rita pleaded with her sister.

"What is there to think about? You want me to go to your mate's house and pretend to be you for two days?"

"Yes, exactly. Come on, this isn't the first time we have done this, we did it all the time as children."

"exactly we were children and we switched places for trivial things like school and to prank our parents. And it has been a long time since we did that. Rita, this is serious. Rafaele is your mate."

"Rina, we are identical twins. Everything about us is the same. Even our wolves are identical, our footsteps and heartbeat are identical, our scent is identical. No one is going to know the difference."

"But what is so important that we need to switch places. If you need to go somewhere just tell him. Do you need to lie and deceive him?"

"He can't know about this ever." Rita objected.

"And why is that?"

"Because he would never allow it."

Rina became suspicious.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"Rina, it's better you don't know."

"You either say where you are going or forget about me helping you." Rina threatened.

"Do you remember Adrian?" Rita asked.

"Yes, I do. That ex of yours who broke your heart when he left to further his studies in a far away pack."

"He is back for some days and I want to see him."

Rina stared at her sister in shock.

"Rita, once again, are you mad. You have a mate and you want to skip town to see your ex?"

"Rina calm down, this is why I didn't want to say anything. It's not cheating, I just want to see him one last time for closure."

"No, I won't do this, I can't do this. Rafaele doesn't deserve this. You need to forget about Adrian. If he really loved you, he wouldn't have left."

"Please Rina, please, just this one last time." Rita pleaded.

"No, my answer remains no."

"I am calling on my favor." Rita said.

Rina looked up in exasperation.

"seriously, you are asking me to use that favor just so you can skip town to cheat?"

"It's my favor, I can use it any way I like."

Rina sighed, when they were eight years old, Rina had been bitten by a poisonous snake while they were playing outside.

Before help could come, Rita had sucked the venom out risking her life. As a result, she had fallen into a deep life threatening coma and when she had finally woken up, in gratitude, Rina had promised her a favor to do anything for her. She could never have imagined Rita would use that favor for a thing like this.

She sighed again, "How long did you say you would be gone for?" she asked.

"Two days."

"What do I have to do?" Rina asked in a resigned tone.

"It's simple, just be there, Rafaele's mother still does the Luna duties. All you have to do is smile and pretend to be me."

"and what about Rafaele, won't he suspect I am not you. What if wants to kiss his mate or other things?"

Rita smiled wryly, "Rina sweetie, marriage isn't like that, I and Raphael barely talk to each other these days and as for kissing and other things, it's been a while. We only have sex when it's close to my fertile period so I can have a heir and it's not yet time for that."

"So all I have to do is sit and smile?"

"exactly sis"

"What about my appearance, we might be identical but we are still different, your hair is shorter, and other differences."

"its okay, I will make you look like me." Rita assured her.

"Rita, after this, I owe you no favors. Understood?"

"Yes sis." Rita said excitedly.

"So you are going to tell mom and dad you have a research trip and then switch places, okay?"

"Okay."

Rita hugged her sister tightly, "I know you are mad at me now but I am really happy you are helping me. After this, I will be done with Adrian, I promise."

"you better be done and remember just two days."

"Yes, just two days."

When their parents were back, Rina informed them she had a research trip. Her parents weren't worried at all, Rita worked at the royal werewolf library as a researcher and she often went on such trips.

"But Rina dear, when are you going to settle down?" her mother asked.

"soon mother."

"I am really worried that you don't want to get mated and want to simply do research all your life." her mother noted worriedly.

"The girl will do whatever she wants, it's her life." her father chimed in.

Rina smiled appreciatively at him.

"You see, you keep spoiling her and letting her do whatever she wants." Her mother scolded.

"Rita is already mated, leave Rina alone, she will do what she wants at her own time." her father replied.

"fine, just go on your trip, we will talk about this when you get back, okay?"

"Yes mother" she replied.

She hugged the both of them and went to her room to pack some things for this trip.

For the umpteenth time, since Rita's visit, she wondered if she was doing the right thing.

Shouldn't she try to advise her sister instead of indulging her on this crazy plan of hers?

But Rita had called on her favor and she didn't want to break her promise. It was just two days, she would help her sister for two days.

The next day, very early in the morning, Rina left the house to meet Rita at their meeting spot. From there Rita cut her hair to the same length of hers.

Rina mourned the loss of her long hair but no sacrifice was too much for her sister.

After making the necessary changes. The two looked at the mirror, they looked identical.

"Rafaele is never going to know the difference" Rita said with a smirk.

"You will be gone for just two days right?" Rina asked worriedly.

"of course, just two days" Rita assured her.

Rita took her to the pack and Rina slipped into the pack house successfully while Rita went on her merry way.

Stefan carried Kaia back to the same hidden underground room where he had kept her before. He laid her gently on the small cot and waited, his eyes watching her closely for any signs of movement. The potion’s effects had been powerful, and for a brief moment, he wondered if she’d truly wake. But then, after what felt like forever, her fingers twitched.Kaia groaned softly and blinked, her gaze unfocused as she stirred awake. She looked around, confused, then finally settled her eyes on him.“It worked,” she whispered.Stefan gave a rare, small smile. “Yes. You’re safe now, your mother played her part well. The king believes you are dead.”Kaia nodded slowly, rubbing her eyes. “She must have been scared.”“She was,” Stefan said gently. “But she didn’t let it show.”Kaia looked away, her face solemn. “What happens now?”“You rest,” Stefan said, standing up. “Stay here. I will be back soon.”With that, he left the room and made his way back to the palace. She looked up when he entere

The door opened and Stefan stepped into the room. Rita stood near the fireplace, clutching a small glass vial in her hand, she rushed to him when she saw him.“You’re back,” she said softly, her voice unsure. He nodded stiffly, his expression was unreadable. She couldn't tell what he was thinking. She placed the potion in his hand carefully, avoiding direct eye contact.“This will make her appear dead,” she said quietly. “Meridia gave it to me herself. It carries her magic, Kaia will look lifeless, there will be no heartbeat or pulse. But she’ll be fine, after a few hours.”Stefan turned the vial slowly between his fingers, the contents within glowed with a soft green shimmer. He stared at it in silence, clearly torn.Rita looked at him, brow furrowed. “You are hesitating,” she said. “Why are you hesitating?”He clenched his jaw. “Because I hate that this is even necessary.”“But at least Kaia lives,” Rita said gently. “That’s better than letting the king get his hands on her, or wo

Rita slowly approached a house and knocked on the door. She had to be cautious not to attract attention. The door opened and a a woman with white long hair peered at her suspiciously. From her eyes, Rita could see she had been crying, her heart went out to her."Who are you?" she asked."Are you Meridia?" Rita asked."Yes, I am Meridia. Who are you?""Please I need to talk to you, it's really urgent" Rita told her.She looked even more suspicious, "who are you?""Please let me in and I will explain."Meridia contemplated for some minutes before letting Rita in.Rita entered the house, "can you put on a silencing spell around the house so no one can hear our conversation.""Why? What do you want? Did the king send you to kill me? I will do what he wants, I just want him to spare my daughter." she pleaded with Rita.Rita removed her cloak covering her face."the king didn't send me but someone else did.""Who?""Stefan"Her eyes got even bigger and she stepped back."The hunting dog? "You have a plan?" Stefan asked."Yes, but it depends on how good a actress her mother is?"Stefan frowned curiously."What do you mean, 'how good an actor?' how does the plan work?""We are going to do the exact same thing I did, fake a death.""But how, the king will know""Isn't she a powerful witch? Plus there is one thing you aren't considering""what's that?""Your loyalty, have you eve gone against the king?" she asked."No, I have never done that""So he wouldn't suspect a thing"Stefan was conflicted, he had never gone against the king before. But then he remembered how Kaia had looked at him and that was all the motivation he needed."I will do it" he immediately agreed. "But she hates me, she knows I was the one in charge of kidnapping her child, why would she believe me?" Stefan asked. "That's true, then, I will talk to her" Rita said. "How are you going to get there unnoticed?" Stefan wondered. "I and Teresa will have to go shopping.""But what if the king suspects yo

Stefan glanced at the young girl tied up. He had put her underground, she couldn't access her powers."Why did you kidnap me?" she asked. He kept quiet and didn't answer her."Please don't hurt my mother" she told him."nothing is happening to your mother, she will be fine" he answered this time.Stefan didn't want her to worry about her mother."I am Kaia, what's your name?" she introduced herself."I can't tell you that""Am I here because my mother doesn't support the king?"Stefan kept quiet."If the king sent someone to kidnap me to hurt my mother, maybe that's why nobody likes him" she continued.Stefan couldn't resist smiling at this, she was very cheeky."You smiled, I was beginning to think you were carved from stone.""are you always this talkative?" he asked."Yes, my mother says I am like a parrot""she is right, you are like a parrot. And I should know, I have one at home""You have a parrot?" she asked, curiosity in her eyes."No, but I have someone at home who talks a l

Stefan stood before the throne where the King sat.“I have a task for you,” the king said, sipping from a gold goblet filled with blood.Stefan gave a sharp nod, eyes cold. “What is it, Your Majesty?”“There’s a witch, Meridia. She has been aiding one of my rivals. Hiding his scouts and sending him visions. I want her silenced.”Stefan tilted his head slightly. “Assassination?”The king smirked. “No. That would be too easy. I want her daughter taken. A child’s grief weakens a mother. And a weakened witch makes mistakes.”Stefan’s jaw tightened. His fingers curled at his side.“She is only a child,” he said slowly, choosing his words carefully. The king’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of amusement and irritation in his expression. “Do I detect hesitation, Stefan?”Stefan didn’t answer. The king stood now, walking toward him. “I allow you to breathe here, Stefan. I let you wear the royal crest and bear my name even though your mother was a filthy half blood I should’ve erased. And now you
