MALIK’S POV

Dorian pressed his palm hard against the tree, I could have easily moved on and totally forgotten about how I felt with how much his eyes glistened with what looked like unshed tears.

“Malik..” he whispered

“No, let me finish.” I cut him off as soon as he started

“When the rogues cornered me that night, I let them, I could have ran for my life but it was either that or they ran towards you, so I fought, but I was stupid. Oh, when I fought I believed you were coming, at some point I truly thought you were right behind me, I still told myself even when I realized you weren’t behind me that I had to fight, cause if I fought long enough, you would come. I kept feeding my delusions. Despite my anger towards you, I still believed you would never leave me at a time I needed you most.”
