Chapter 48: Echoes of the Past

As the darkness pressed in around them, Cassia's mind raced, searching for a way out of their predicament. The barrier of energy seemed impenetrable, pulsing with an ominous glow that sent shivers down her spine.

"We need to find a way to break through that barrier," she said, her voice tinged with urgency.

Tharin nodded grimly, his eyes scanning the chamber for any sign of weakness in the energy field. "Agreed. But we need to be careful. Whatever power is at work here is unlike anything we've encountered before."

Elysia stepped forward, her expression determined. "Then we'll just have to find a way to overcome it. We didn't come this far to be stopped by some ancient magic."

Alaric surveyed the barrier thoughtfully, his mind racing with possibilities. "There must be a source of power feeding into the barrier. If we can find it and disrupt it, we might be able to weaken the field enough to break through."
